Short stack with strawberries

This spot feels like a hidden gem. There's a huge sign inside that says "enter as strangers, leave as friends" and it's reflective of the friendly and attentive service. The vibe was small-town feel, warm & inviting, but with big flavors. I ordered the country benedict which was savory and delicious. The sauce was well made and juicy, pairing nicely with the runny yolk. They certainly didn't skimp on the gravy either. We also ordered the short stack pancakes with strawberries and they were some of the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. They stayed fluffy even towards the end of our meal and we all fought for the last bite. Perfect tuck-in before a trip down to Point Lobos!

We were going to go somewhere else. But thought. This place used to be good. We walked in the place was packed. We were seated in the back biggest booth. Served coffee. Soda. Then we wait. Finally order. Ok. This took so freaking long. My MIL said they must have had to go catch the chicken. Meanwhile. The table was sticky. I had to ask for a wet towel 3 times. Turns out. They don't clean in the middle where the condiments sit. It was disguising. And waited and waited. Finally the food came. And the hottest thing on my plate was a zucchini in my vegetable dish. My husband ordered a hamburger steak and eggs. It was nasty. I had chicken mashed potatoes and gravy. Gross. The chicken was moist. WET. It wasn't delicious as I had hoped. It didn't say they cover potatoes with that. My MIL had a hamburger. It was dry and she complained to us. I lost my appetite. It took forever for the sever to refill coffee. And get creamer. And soda. Well. It was the worst $80. Spent at any restaurant. The service was bad. The food was awful. And idk how the place was so packed. I wish we had gone to Black Bear. It would've been worth the wait. I will NEVER go back. Or recommend it. OD's Would've also been better. Lousy experience. Totally revolting. One Star. Becuz it was open. SO WHAT.

Great, personal service and good deals. Not particularly fancy, but comfortable. My dining companion and I shared the prime rib special and they were kind enough to split the plate in the kitchen. Can't beat the prime rib dinner for the price.

I came into Sandy's Cafe on a Sunday morning expecting to have a wait, but was delighted when we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff and taken to a booth in the back area of the restaurant with a really cute view! I ordered the belgian waffle with apples with a side of eggs and sausage which was delicious. I came with my boyfriend who ordered the Reuben sandwich and was shocked at the quality of the food for the price. I also tried a few of his fries which were perfectly crispy and delicious! Our waitress (I believe her name was Caitlin) was super sweet and attentive. Sandy's Cafe is such a hidden gem in Gilroy!

Excellent breakfast. Quantity of the scramble was huge. I should have ordered the half order. Fruit was very fresh. Reasonable prices.

5-Star Review for OD's Kitchen in Gilroy I finally made it…read moreto OD's Kitchen in downtown Gilroy, and wow--what a fantastic spot for breakfast! This place lives up to all the hype as one of the best breakfast joints in the area, with huge portions, friendly service, and that cozy local vibe. I started with the chocolate cream drink (their rich, creamy hot chocolate or chocolate milk variation--whatever it exactly is, it's indulgent!). It was perfectly sweet without being overpowering, super smooth and velvety, topped just right. If you're a chocolate lover, this hits the spot and pairs amazingly with breakfast. Not too heavy, but definitely satisfying. For my main, I went with the famous Rosebud breakfast, and I can see why it's a favorite for so many people. It's a hearty, loaded plate with eggs, meats, potatoes, and all the classic fixings done exceptionally well. Everything was cooked perfectly--fluffy eggs, crispy edges where needed, and those fresh country potatoes were addictive. The portions are generous; I couldn't finish it all and definitely didn't need lunch afterward! The staff was quick, welcoming, and the place was buzzing with locals. If you're in Gilroy and craving a solid, no-fuss breakfast with standout items like the Rosebud and a great chocolate drink, OD's Kitchen is a must-visit. Highly recommend--I'll be back soon! 5/5 stars

I can say, without hesitation, that this was the second worst Chicken Fried Steak I've ever had in my life. The breading completely came off the steak. The steak was thin and WAY over cooked. It was tougher than shoe leather. I could barely cut it with the steak knife, and it gave my jaw a helluva workout trying to chew that thing. And the gravy was terrible. So thin, I could see the steak right through it. It looked like a glazed donut. That's how thin the gravy was. Then, I asked for EXTRA crispy hash browns. They weren't even regular crispy, let alone EXTRA crispy. The eggs and the English muffin were fine. It's hard to mess up those things. The service was fine, but the kitchen COMPLETELY dropped the ball. I drove all the way from Santa Clara, thinking about the great CFS they used to have. Wasting all that gas, for one of the worst breakfasts I've had in a long, long time. smh

Vine and pint was the same, packed but bar top was open so we grabbed a seat and ordered my wife and I some sliders as an afternoon snack! Chatted with the bar tender and learned more about the festivities going on since it was a Friday before halloween so I was curious if Gilroy was always so lively or it was just that weekend. Bartender was great and even offered me a few samples of the local brews just to try. Honestly didn't recall which things but I do recall one was a sour and ipa for the first time. But I think I enjoyed the one that tasted like a sangria. I joked about hearing that Gilroy was garlic capital so asked if there was a garlic beer since I saw somewhere there was garlic ice cream, but unfortunately there wasn't a garlic beer on tap so no luck there. Soon afterwards our sliders came and we got to enjoy our afternoon snack before heading out to locate me a sample of garlic ice cream in the garlic capital! Sliders were good and medium well! If only Gilroy was the final stop on the road trip I think I would've enjoyed a bar hoping experience since it seemed like there were plenty of bars to choose from!

I can see this street being busy and parking hard to get on a weekend. The restaurant has plenty of tables but no outside seating. There is a large bar with a great selection of wine, spirits and beer. The team serving us was welcoming and attentive. They knew their wines and were happy to make great recommendations. Our party did not get to order from the food menu because it was a preset menu for dinner. There was a buffet with a protein, vegetables, salad and dessert. I took one star off because of how greasy the food was. Other than that hiccup, I would come back here on my own. The service was outstanding - attentive but no pressure. An upscale place in downtown Gilroy. I highly recommend.
