    Pretty busy dining room!
    Tyler S.

My husband and I are always down for trying out a local diner. There's just something about the taste of fresh brewed coffee in an oil sleeked (but mostly clean) diner mug. Nothing fancy about this place and just a heads up, it's definitely more of a local spot. Not the friendliest of crews running this joint but our server, though dry, was still entertaining and overall was friendly. Not really planning on returning with the multitude of options all over the Atlanta area but worth the try!

My family LOVES Sandy Springs Diner!!! We always ask for to be seated in Mark's section, he's one of our favorite local servers. This establishment is always clean and the food is always good. Some of our favorites include the Eggs Benedict, waffles, French toast and chicken sandwiches. This restaurant also offers mimosas with breakfast. The atmosphere is "neighborhood diner" and this restaurant has a large menu with many options. This diner has become one of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots. I recommend thos diner!

It's my first time here and it's exactly what I wanted. Except the mess of a bathroom. The staff are nice. It's quiet. I'm killing time. They have free wifi and my data isn't working for some reason so it's great. My food just arrived and it's tasty and we'll presented.. I'll definitely be back 3 stars for the restroom

I typically associate diners with generic breakfast foods only, but the Sandy Springs Diner has a lot going for it. The award for the largest menu? Sandy Springs Diner. The place to go any time for any occasion? Sandy Springs Diner. A place where I can get authentic Greek dishes?? Sandy Springs Diner! That's right, the Sandy Springs Diner will have pretty much whatever you're craving, at a relatively good cost and quality. I mentioned Greek food earlier, but the Sandy Springs Diner has a ton of other things as well. They have breakfast items, sandwiches, dinner meals, fish, meat, vegetarian options, you name it! I won't lie, when I first came to this place, I wasn't looking for Greek food, but that's what I ended up getting. Their Combination Greek platter gets you a big spinach pie, a serving of moussaka, a portion of pastichio, gyro and chicken meat for $22. This mountain of food is easily one of their best deals. Most of the items on this platter is pretty good. The moussaka was my favorite, the eggplant was baked very well and the meat and potatoes complimented with it very well. The meats weren't dry and could be eaten with some tzatziki. The spinach pie was flakey and warm and delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the pastichio, but everything else was fantastic! I can also say that their breakfast items are fantastic as well. I came in, in the mood for french toast and Sandy Springs Diner delivered. Their french toast was done well, and came with bacon, ham and sausage. The meats were a bit overdone, but the star of the show was on point. Overall, Sandy Springs Diner is a fantastic value option for those who want a ton of optionality. Their wait staff is very nice, but can be slow at times. The interior and vibe the restaurant gives is straight diner-esque. Come give it a try, 9 menu pages are waiting for you!

It has been a few decades since I've been ti a real diner. This was a surreal experience, almost like Back to the future kind of feel. We were kindly welcomed by host and quickly seated in a booth and I was so impressed by the cake display and the delicious meals advertised on a few big screen monitors. The ambiance was very much like a diner except the center of the restaurant was like a mom's and pop's restaurant look. The food did not disappoint. We got the tuna salad platter and the gyro platter. The French fries were not super fresh or crispy but everything else tasted classic! I would come again and get the triple decker BLT sandwich or a breakfast plate.

Sandy Spring Special Club (traditional club sandwich), $14.99

Great menu selection! Something for everyone! I opted for the Sandy Spring Special (club sandwich) which came served with steak-cut fries. It was plated beautifully and quite tasty! Your basic club sandwich served between three slices of bread, tomatoes, lettuce, American cheese, ham, turkey, and mayo. Our server was very quick to refill our iced teas! Highly recommend!

I don't know how long this place has been here, but I just started coming here this year! I regret I've missed all these years of dining at this place! They have great food and great service and are consistently good in their coffee. I've only been here for breakfast, but always get the same corn beef hash with potatoes in eggs , and I'm never disappointed! They have friendly service and it's often fast during lunchtime however, like many places, they may slow down a bit, but I always get my food within 20 minutes of ordering it. They're consistent with refilling my cup with fresh, hot coffee! Will return here again, and again.

We came here on a Sunday morning and were pleasantly surprised and satisfied by the service and the food! We arrived right after Sandy Springs Diner opened, and had absolutely no trouble finding available parking around the restaurant. Sandy Springs Diner is in a standalone building, and it is surrounded by parking lots, both its own and in a large lot shared by neighboring businesses. One of the employees immediately welcomed us, sat us down at a booth closest to the restrooms, and provided us menus. My goodness! This diner has such an extensive menu that will take customers a while to read through if they don't know what they want to order: breakfasts (served all day), griddle specialties, snacks, appetizers, sandwiches, quesadillas, burgers, salads, a variety of entrees, desserts, wines and beers, and a kids' menu. For breakfast, I ordered the Sandy Springs Diner Breakfast Special: Two eggs, any style (I ordered mine over medium), two buttermilk pancakes, sausage, bacon, and home fries, toast, pita bread or biscuit and butter (I ordered the biscuit and butter). R ordered Belgian waffles with bacon. After we ordered, I got up to look closely at the great looking pies, cakes and eclairs in a tall display case. The German chocolate cake looked perfectly made and presented. After waiting about 15 minutes for our food, a food runner served our food, which was nice and hot. R loved the waffles; they were a little crunchy on the outside, yet light and not dry on the inside. I liked everything about my meal except for the pancakes, which were dense and dry. I at first thought that the cook forgot to add the home fries, but these were hidden by the biscuit, sausage patty and three bacon strips. This meal was so filling and satisfying! Our server was quick and efficient, and was able to answer our questions about different menu items. She and one or two more servers worked all of the tables. By the time we were leaving, the restaurant was almost at full capacity with customers, many of whom it seemed were regulars. We will be returning.

I recently retuned again to share my previous biscuit experience with someone else; third time after my first visit. I live 30+ minutes away from this establishment, without traffic. Otherwise, I would probably have been a constant and maybe even daily regular here. They still have good food, however, an item in my omelette didn't agree with me. In fact, it gave me the same reaction as a particular food ingredient that I am allergic to. There was no mention of it in the menu. I notified our server, who took the plate and said she would send the manager to our table. Within approximately three minutes we saw the manager walk past our table, warmly greet the patrons at another table, then walk past our table again without acknowledging us, to do the same with another table behind us. Moments later our server brought me a new plate of food minus the previous troubling ingredient. As a result, I simply thought all was well. Then, when it was time for the receipt the server began vigorously typing it up on the electronic devices they use, where they tell you the amount and you insert your card (I guess you would simply supply cash if that's the chosen form of payment). For some reason I requested a paper copy and I'm so glad I did. The item that was removed from my food was still on the bill. No problem, I thought. Probably just an oversight. When the server returned for payment I informed them of what I perceived was an error. The server said the manager told her to leave it on the bill. Then the server asked if the manager had stopped by the table. I said he hadn't then requested he do so After several minutes passed, the manager didn't approach our table as we saw him do so previously at the other two tables. Instead, he was crouched down, not standing up like he was at the other tables. He poked his head around the end of the wall where our table was located, barely made eye contact then asked if there was a problem with the ingredient. I said there was for me. He presented an adjusted receipt then swiftly walked away. He offered no apology and was, quite frankly, downright rude and unprofessional. Even though I think they have good biscuits, and solely because of the way my guest (their first time there because of my recommendation) and I were treated, I cannot in good conscience patronize this place again. Furthermore, I won't bring my many loved ones to this establishment that treats even one customers with such contempt as I did. I shouldn't have to pay for something that caused what felt like an allergic reaction. Bottom line, always view the paper copy to make sure you're not being over charged. I no longer recommend highly.

Very busy, little wait..... party of 7 They sat us in our own area an the staff was very attentive. All orders were filled without errors (understanding it was 7ppl things get mixed up). Let's talk about these Pancakes.....there were 3 and they were fluffy and thick. My gosh absolutely delicious!!!!! 10/10 must try. So I forgot to take photos because I was hungry from the night before (its a celebration). The scrambled hard with cheese is never comes out right....you will see the lump of cheese on the plate with a few Pancakes. Now the home fries, they were blessed by the potato angel herself...... it was heavenly each bite. Do I recommend absolutely 10/10 and will come back for sure.

We had our pick of tables in the restaurant. When we left, it was hopping busy. Final take - on a nice day - I like the paper mill location. It' has a smaller footprint and plenty of parking. We started with the pimento cheese dip and were both surprised to find that it was served hot along with several pieces of soft, warm bread. It was SO good and a nice change from the way that most other restaurants serve their pimento cheese. Even hubby loved it and he is usually not a fan of cheese. For my main, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this is THE BEST MEAL I have had in a really long time. Total comfort food that hit all the right spots on this chilly afternoon. The cheese on the sandwich was just the right amount of ooey gooey and the tomato soup was perfection. I was tempted to lick the bowl when I got to the bottom, but that wouldn't be very dignified while dining out, so I did the next best thing by sopping up the residue with what was left of my sandwich. It was delicious and I will be back for more soon. Hubby ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was the best chicken sandwich he has had. He is hard to please, so between the pimento and sandwich, 1920 achieved the improbable in impressing hubby. Service was impeccable. The main reason we had not come back in a while is because it is a small space and can feel pretty congested when it fills up, which is not the most comfortable. We don't like feeling crowded, but after today's visit, we decided that the limited space is a small price to pay for amazing food and service, so we will undoubtedly return soon. Perhaps we will try sitting outside instead when the weather cooperates. Big thanks to 1920 for starting our new year off on the right foot!
