Unfortunately, the experience with one of the attendants completely changed our minds. While we were browsing, the female attendant gave us virtually no space to look. She repeatedly put her hands in our way and asked if we wanted her to hold rings for us, to the point where we couldn't comfortably browse without her standing right over us. It felt like we were being watched the entire time rather than welcomed as customers. The male attendant was very nice, which we appreciated. However, things took an even more uncomfortable turn when the female attendant called out her husband's name and motioned toward my sister, who happened to be wearing a ring similar to one she had when she entered the store. The way it was done came across as if she was signaling him to watch us or keep an eye on us. There was absolutely no basis for this implication, and we found it extremely disrespectful. We would never steal, and being treated as though we were suspicious simply because of what my sister was wearing was upsetting and completely unnecessary. We had every intention of purchasing something, but the way we were treated ultimately caused the store to lose our business. It's unfortunate because the jewelry was really cute and reasonably priced. A little trust, personal space, and basic respect for customers would have made this a completely different experience.

Walked into Diani was not greeted at all. I didn't take immediate offense since I understand that staff can be busy. I walked around and then was curious about the beautiful jewelry in the case. I could hear the staff member organizing sections of clothing. I never once was acknowledged or even asked if I would like assistance or if I would like to see something. Absolutely nothing. Now I have a few friends that shop there frequently and never have I been told that the service was poor and rude so I didn't have any preconceived notions. I decided to leave and when I turned around saw the staff member organizing sections and I said hello. Her reply was cold and dismissive but she did say hello. The first thing I thought of was wow, people should always treat others with respect especially in a high end store, you never ever know who has a lot of money in Santa Barbara so therefore judging is just poor etiquette! I will never go back to that store and maybe the staff member should remember that she is working for the store clearly not shopping in it. Diani please be respectful, Santa Barbara is a small town.

The customer service is on another level. It didn't feel transactional at all, it felt like an experience. The girls working there are so attentive and genuinely kind, and Jill, the owner, is incredible. You can tell how much care she puts into the store, especially with the dresses she hand-makes individually it makes everything feel so special and elevated. The denim selection is unreal. I tried on a few pairs and they fit better than any jeans I've ever owned. I didn't even have to look. I also knew a lot of people had bad experiences there. Last visit I went by on bike. I couldn't find a bike rack anywhere near the store. I asked the owner if I could bring it inside. She immediately shouted no and launched into a speech about all her stuff in her store. She told me I could leave my bike propped against a tree out front. This is terrible advice. Anyone in Santa Barbara knows you leave a bike- ANY bike, much less an expensive bike leaning aguante something, that bike is no longer yours. Totally fine if she doesn't want the bike in her spacious store. She could suggest the closest bike RACK so the bike could be locked. Lots of people bike in SB so I'm sure I wasn't the only one needing a little direction to park and shop. Her rude attitude and irresponsible advice- plus ridiculous prices, no thanks!! Will never come back here. Tons of super rad boho stores like Dylan Star and Sirena with nice staff to spend at instead.

I knew Brandy Melville for having good basics and was in search of a black bralette / bandeau, which I did not find exactly what I was looking for, however, I did find a few cute basic tanks and a pair of shorts with Santa Barbara screen printed on. Since I didn't need to try anything on -- most items should be O/S, I will comment that there was a long line for the fitting rooms. There was also WAY TOO MANY people who did not really need to be inside (like guys just standing around with their girl friends, etc. taking up space for other shoppers - just my opinion though). You can do a few short laps around different sections of the store, viewing tables and walls of which you were not able to see when you were standing around those spaces to begin with. The cash register had what looked to be 2-3 girls taking anyone who made eye contact for checkout. I wouldn't say they were the most engaging nor friendly, but I wasn't there to have a good experience, I just wanted to grab my things and go - therefore, checkout was quick, unpersonable, and I suppose, expected due to the type of customer or experience they might usually have? Not sure -- like I said, it's been a minute since I've been to a location and usually in Walnut Creek or Los Angeles. Prices are still okay though which is why we go.
