One of the most upsetting parts of our experience occurred after we informed the clinic that our child had eloped from our home by climbing out of a window, despite us having installed window locks. Shortly after sharing this information, we were reported to Child Protective Services. We felt that, instead of working with us to help keep our child safe or providing the support they had discussed, the situation was escalated in a way that left our family feeling shocked and unsupported. The Regional Clinical Director even had the audacity to tell us that "even good parents make mistakes." Throughout our time at the clinic, we were repeatedly told that we would receive resources and guidance to help address our child's behaviors and safety concerns. In our experience, those promised resources were never provided. Parent guidance sessions also did not meet our expectations. We often felt our concerns were not meaningfully addressed, and there were occasions when the clinician appeared distracted during sessions, including conducting parent guidance while caring for their own child. We left many meetings feeling that our questions went unanswered and that the assistance we were promised never materialized. We were also very concerned about our child's safety while at the clinic. During one incident, our son struck an unprotected desk corner, resulting in a deep cut near his eye that required three stitches. We feel fortunate the injury was not even closer to his eye. We were dissatisfied with how the incident was handled and did not agree with the explanation we were given afterward. We also questioned the accuracy of some of the services and insurance billing documentation we received because it did not appear to reflect the services that were actually provided during our experience. Overall, our experience was one of poor communication, unmet promises, lack of meaningful parent support, and concerns about both safety and professionalism. Every family's experience may be different, but ours left us feeling unsupported during a time when we were actively seeking help for our child. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions about parent guidance, documentation, safety procedures, and billing practices before choosing this provider. We have complained about our BCBA and we're still stuck with the same one even after we had proof that she failed to scheduled important meetings with us and was dishonest about information provided to us. Ultimately, we have been burned by this company and out of fear for other families, we insisted on writing this review to protect our community, especially our special babies. To add to the concern, there were numerous times our son would walk out to the lobby where the main front door was with no therapist on site and this center was very close to the street. Please look for other ABA companies in this area instead. Protect your baby!

In the year that he received therapy from Topaz, he has made great progress. Of course, his SpEd instruction from AISD and his own natural development also contributed. But we feel Topaz played a huge role. Our son clicked instantly and strongly with both of his RBT's and with our BCBA supervisor. We are also grateful for Katie's help in navigating Topaz's intake procedures (easy), and more importantly, for helping us navigate insurance issues and finding other related providers. We toured on a Friday so we didnt see but one child there. They do m-th at the center and Fridays they drive to your house and do the session at your home. Sounds amazing! I loved the girl I spoke to. I really would have looked into this place further if it wasnt at minimum 32 minutes away from my house - probably an hour during peak traffic - all the way back to RR/Gtown area. I also discovered the sessions are only 4 hours total. This would significantly decrease the amount of time she got weekly and it just wasn't going to work for our schedule. In addition, they charge you for every mile of a certain # for the Fridays that an RBT or BCBA drives to your house, plus whatever fees were involved. Speaking of fees, they wanted $300 to start therapy here, something they said they don't bill to insurance. This was just not going to work for us but i'm sure it is an amazing facility for those it is a better fit for.

I have twins of 4 years old, and they both are diagnosed as Autism. they were a delay in communication and always used single word till the age of 4. From October 2018 we were a part of Building Blocs, and we started Speech Therapy for my girls with Ms. Laura and Ms. Erin. Really, they both are awesome and now we are feeling the improvements slowly with our kid's communication. Their eye contacts improved, they started using sentences. I am really happy to see the improvements. We decided to start ABA Therapy for our kids in Building Blocs, from mid of February the services will get a start. We are so excited about that. The services in front desk and the with insurance are awesome. Actually, I was worried when we started the ABA assessment because I thought the waiting list will be long. The therapists we have working with us are so caring and accommodating and are so child-centered that we feel 100% confident in all of our sessions. ABA can sometimes seem daunting and scary (especially if you do a google search), but my son absolutely adores his therapists. He is sad if a session is cancelled! The billing and insurance department is the best I have ever come across in the healthcare field. I have been absolutely blown away by how thorough and competent they are in dealing with complex billing issues. We have had 3 insurance changes (and are about to have another) and each time they have done a fantastic job explaining copays, benefits, etc before services are provided. The response time to emails is usually minutes. They truly care about what they are doing and the families they serve. A+ ABA Connect! They are really a part of our family. :-)

Within months, we were able to start potty training successfully, have him actively participate in group settings like circle time there at ABA and at his neurotypical school. My daughter has been at CTAC for over three years. When we started she barely had any language,…read moredidn't play with other kids and was in her own little world. Since being at CTAC she has made so much progress! Her language has come so far - she's beginning to have mini conversations, she loves playing with other kids and made several friends, her behavior has decreased, her play skills have improved and she's more present than she has ever been!
