We toured on a Friday so we didnt see but one child there. They do m-th at the center and Fridays they drive to your house and do the session at your home. Sounds amazing! I loved the girl I spoke to. I really would have looked into this place further if it wasnt at minimum 32 minutes away from my house - probably an hour during peak traffic - all the way back to RR/Gtown area. I also discovered the sessions are only 4 hours total. This would significantly decrease the amount of time she got weekly and it just wasn't going to work for our schedule. In addition, they charge you for every mile of a certain # for the Fridays that an RBT or BCBA drives to your house, plus whatever fees were involved. Speaking of fees, they wanted $300 to start therapy here, something they said they don't bill to insurance. This was just not going to work for us but i'm sure it is an amazing facility for those it is a better fit for.

Hello All, Building…read moreBlocs is really playing a very important role in our life. I have twins of 4 years old, and they both are diagnosed as Autism. they were a delay in communication and always used single word till the age of 4. From October 2018 we were a part of Building Blocs, and we started Speech Therapy for my girls with Ms. Laura and Ms. Erin. Really, they both are awesome and now we are feeling the improvements slowly with our kid's communication. Their eye contacts improved, they started using sentences. I am really happy to see the improvements. We decided to start ABA Therapy for our kids in Building Blocs, from mid of February the services will get a start. We are so excited about that. The services in front desk and the with insurance are awesome. Actually, I was worried when we started the ABA assessment because I thought the waiting list will be long. But, the team really supported us and the service will start soon. I strongly Recommend Building Blocs. Thanks, Gayathri

I immediately swung by to go get him and off we went to the pediatric urgent care by daycare and our house! We've always driven past this and I always wondered how it was and after today's visit, I don't think I can go anywhere else, and I wish they took adults lol. That's how lovely the service in care was today, we were able to get our son checked in online, submit paperwork and once that was done, immediately taken back to see the nurse, get vitals and attentive care and kindness for our little dude in his time of need. The space is really lovely, with colorful artwork, complimentary snacks and juice boxes, which was extremely helpful after getting him and we had yet to have lunch so a snack def helped my little hold down his hunger while we waited to wrap up todays visit. 4 stitches later to close his wound, they even had some free shows to watch on their tv which was very nice to allow our son to feel comfortable with these new faces and make a scary situation less daunting. They cleansed the wound, stitched him up and offered all the stickers! I am so grateful for their presence and look forward to future care with them should we ever need anything and have difficulty getting to see our sons normal pediatrician!

CARD meets a need in the Austin area by providing ABA to kids with autism. However, I'm only giving…read morethem 3 stars because I think parents generally get the shaft by CARD employees. If you have a child with autism, try to find them therapy through another center if you can. Therapists often cancel sessions as late as 30 minutes before they are scheduled, but parents are only allowed to cancel 3 sessions in 6 months with less than 24 hours' notice. Everyone who has kids know that illnesses strike, especially when your child is in school. After that, you have to pay for sessions missed. You can't waste their time, but they get to waste yours. When new schedules are being made for each quarter, parents are the last to know and often get only a week to review new schedules before they go into effect, if that. New therapist are constantly being trained, which means your child has to accommodate a new therapist visiting often and conducting therapy programs with him/her. This has been a generally negative experience in my opinion since many kids with autism do not do well with new people in this capacity. In general, considering how much they charge my insurance company, we will be looking elsewhere soon. There are some really good therapists here, but they are not the norm.

None of which were being used except play and tv. I really enjoyed my convo with the director and my child seemed to like the vibe there. There was an outdoor play area also, and the entire place had a fence that surrounded the property. I asked tons of questions and asked if services could be provided in the home or facility. He said they do both, but that for a child my age they recommend in facility bc at home is for helping create independence vs in facility would be for a child preparing to go to school. Frequency: I asked how frequently kids come to the facility and he said some come 1-2 times a week, a few 3 and the rest come 5 days a week. Ok ... sound great. He told me she could start slowly since shes never been to anything more than 2x a week, ever, even day care. But by the time i spoke to Rosa, the girl behind a desk in an office away from this facility ... nope. By our 3rd phone call/email the entire story changed. I was only allowed to do full time/in-facility or nothing at all. I spoke to her to clarify why there was such a discrepancy between what I was told from the director and from her and 3rd girl with it in writing that she could do 3 days a week. She didn't answer that, just reiterated that it was full time or nothing. Hence, we did not pursue services after that. sadly. What really bothered me was that she contradicted herself. She originally said that the process would entail her being evaluated to see what she needs, but then said she can only get services if she gets full time. but she had never been evaluated, so how do you know that's what she needs? it just didnt make sense, so many contradictions. How can you start a relationship like that?
