Floor staff was diligent and friendly. Had an excellent case doctor Alexa Papaila and a top notch interventionist Doctor M. Selmon. Interestingly, the room had a board facing my bed where doctors and nurses wrote pertinent information and instructions. I'm now a proud owner of a very successful 4mmx28mm STENT. Discharge process was satisfactory and I was sent home with an information packet and required meds prescriptions. Overall I had a very positive live saving experience.

Legacy is very professionally run, and all the folks at Legacy I dealt with were great to fantastic. I even got a suggestion to test for sleep apnea there that none of several doctors had thought of. Lo and behold I did indeed have a mild case, a very good thing to fix to get healthy. If you have a heart condition you owe it to yourself to research EECP. For many, many people, with diet and exercise and lifestyle changes supporting, it can help the body create a natural bypass that makes a stent or bypass surgery unnecessary. It is a crying shame that it is not used more often as the FIRST resort for more people - saving surgery as the last resort.

I originally went to the Cardiologist because my doctor found that I had high blood pressure in August of 2023. The Cardiologist Dr. Otero put me on blood pressure pills. I took the pills for a few months and stopped. In March 2024 I ended up in the hospital with extreme dizziness and got physically sick when I moved. I went through a plethora of tests and the emergency room doctor said I had possibly had a small heart attack and/or Stroke, the hospital said I had to see a heart surgeon immediately and set an appointment. When I spoke with Dr Otero he said to cancel the appointment with the surgeon and that he needed to do more tests to verify my condition before I see a surgeon. Then I was run through every singe one of the same tests that were performed when I was in the hospital costing me for out of pocket expense again. Then an angiogram was scheduled for the first week of June 2024. The results were not good, Bicuspid valve that needed to be replaced, a 70% blockage that required a double bypass and a aortic aneurysm which could burst at any moment, (same thing killed my grandfather). I was told that a surgeon would call me the next week to schedule an appointment. Well, the next week came and went and no call...then the second week went by and no call. So, I called Dr Otero's office and left a message with his assistant Andrenika Ellison that I had not heard from the surgeon. I never heard back from Cardio Texas, and this was three weeks after my diagnosis. I waited until the next week, called again, no answer, left a message and never heard back. I had other family members who also used Cardio Texas but other Doctors in the practice call to try to get a response, and STILL NO CALL BACK! Remember, I have an aneurysm that could rupture an any moment and I would die on the spot. This went on for THREE months, I called every week, without an answer or a returned call. Finally at the end of August a surgeon's office called. I scheduled an appointment and the first thing the surgeon said to me was " I'm very concerned that you were diagnosed with this condition and your cardiologist took three months to get you to a surgeon?" Then he said, my diagnosed blockage was not 70%, it was 85% blockage and I didn't need a double bypass, I needed a triple bypass and could I be ready tomorrow for surgery? Then the surgeon said, I could be almost recovered by that point if they would have sent you back in June. BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE, THEY ARE JUST LOOKING TO GET THAT COMMISSION FROM BIG PHARMA. Then, when I went to Cardiac recovery CARE with a physical therapist to help with my physical recovery. I was supposed to go to for several weeks but I ran into an issue the first day with my heart rate shooting up to 130 bpm. The therapist made me stop and instantly called to speak with Dr Otero and didn't get a answer. I was told to go home because we could not do any more exercises until he spoke with the Dr. Well, needless to say after making several calls and leaving messages the therapist never heard back from Dr. Otero or his office staff and would not see me without their call back. I'm going to have to say this is pretty sad for the type of doctors that are in this office...you know...HEART DOCTORS...or are they Grim Reapers!

Worse of all -- she has absolutely horrific bedside manners and her cold pronouncements of his medical future devastated him and drained his will to fight. She was equally ruthless with his parents when they tried to get some assurances from her. This doctor suffers from a God complex. No one should treat patients and their parents in such an atrociously insensitive manner!!!

I think Meleah hand-picked him. Meleah got back to me on several occasions just this week within an hour of my reaching out. When I wasn't understanding what she was trying to accomplish, she explained in words that I could comprehend. When I was being obstinate on my mom's behalf, Meleah stepped in and countered with irrefutable plans that saved my mom. Isn't this the definition of a guardian angel?
