I had an appointment this morning and it was cancelled. No one called me to tell me. I called the office staff and was transferred (because I had to call twice) to voicemails (including the office manager's voicemail). I'll be interested to see if she returns my call. I was told by the office staff that I was contacted several times by his supervisor in an effort to cancel my appointment. This is an outright lie. I have their number on my phone, and nobody called me. In addition, I received my check-in online yesterday morning (Sunday), so truly nobody called me. I am seriously considering changing doctors, only for this reason. I really like Dr.Gage and would like to keep him as my cardiologist, but this is getting unreasonable and stressing me out for no reason. To make matters worse, I have called his medical assistant several times. When I have been able to get through, the assistant has been very nice. Unfortunately, when no one is available, no one answers and there is no voicemail. This is inappropriate for a cardiologist's office. At the very least, there should be a voicemail set up.

This guy completely jumped to the most common diagnosis without even looking at my rashes first. Just as poor was the fact I knew he was wrong (this spread was more aggressive) and after *I urged him to please look at it* it was clear that he was completely wrong. I then had to urge him to prescribe me medication to preventatively stop the spread which he was hesitant to do and told me to just buy an OTC cream. Two days later I went to Urgent Care because the rash had spread and gotten so much worse. The Nurse Practitioner said that everything this guy did was wrong, that it was clearly not common fungal and anybody that looked at it could see that, and that even the medication he recommended was far too weak to put a dent on the problem. After three days with new medication I was in recovery. I don't care if/how intelligent this guy might be. His apathy and malpractice that day to me while being (thankfully not fully) trusted as a doctor almost caused me severe health problems that needed fixing by someone more competent in Urgent Care -- the last thing I want is for more to experience the same, especially if they don't self-advocate as much as I had to just to recover.

While I was planning on selecting a surgeon here in Austin, I did not limit my search to just this city. I looked in all areas of Texas and even beyond. However, once I identified Dr Kemper, I was confident that I had found the best surgeon for my needs regardless of location. To be brief, Dr. Kemper is a fantastic surgeon. He listens well, explains himself and addresses any concerns with honesty and professionalism. Plus, he's done this procedure many, many times and knows exactly what needs to be done. To say "I trust him" is an understatement. I knew that my condition would be taken care of withit Dr Kemper. My surgery was 6 months ago. Not only did Dr Kemper live up to my expectations but I am happy to say that I am better today that I have been in many, many years. My condition is 100% corrected and there are no residual effects from the procedure; even my 8" scar is invisible and no nerve issues with my skin. I cannot thank him enough or recommend him any higher - he's the best. I would also like to thank his staff for their excellent care. Ironically, my condition required the partnership with an Austin Brain Surgeon who is also "Dr. Kemper". While they are not related, they both worked flawlessly as a team, and I am forever grateful. I think they tried to kill me...Why the hell did it take three months to get me to a surgeon? My…read moreexperience with Cardio Texas started out well. I originally went to the Cardiologist because my doctor found that I had high blood pressure in August of 2023. The Cardiologist Dr. Otero put me on blood pressure pills. I took the pills for a few months and stopped. In March 2024 I ended up in the hospital with extreme dizziness and got physically sick when I moved. I went through a plethora of tests and the emergency room doctor said I had possibly had a small heart attack and/or Stroke, the hospital said I had to see a heart surgeon immediately and set an appointment. When I spoke with Dr Otero he said to cancel the appointment with the surgeon and that he needed to do more tests to verify my condition before I see a surgeon. Then I was run through every singe one of the same tests that were performed when I was in the hospital costing me for out of pocket expense again. Then an angiogram was scheduled for the first week of June 2024. The results were not good, Bicuspid valve that needed to be replaced, a 70% blockage that required a double bypass and a aortic aneurysm which could burst at any moment, (same thing killed my grandfather). I was told that a surgeon would call me the next week to schedule an appointment. Well, the next week came and went and no call...then the second week went by and no call. So, I called Dr Otero's office and left a message with his assistant Andrenika Ellison that I had not heard from the surgeon. I never heard back from Cardio Texas, and this was three weeks after my diagnosis. I waited until the next week, called again, no answer, left a message and never heard back. I had other family members who also used Cardio Texas but other Doctors in the practice call to try to get a response, and STILL NO CALL BACK! Remember, I have an aneurysm that could rupture an any moment and I would die on the spot. This went on for THREE months, I called every week, without an answer or a returned call. Finally at the end of August a surgeon's office called. I scheduled an appointment and the first thing the surgeon said to me was " I'm very concerned that you were diagnosed with this condition and your cardiologist took three months to get you to a surgeon?" Then he said, my diagnosed blockage was not 70%, it was 85% blockage and I didn't need a double bypass, I needed a triple bypass and could I be ready tomorrow for surgery? Then the surgeon said, I could be almost recovered by that point if they would have sent you back in June. BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE, THEY ARE JUST LOOKING TO GET THAT COMMISSION FROM BIG PHARMA. Then, when I went to Cardiac recovery CARE with a physical therapist to help with my physical recovery. I was supposed to go to for several weeks but I ran into an issue the first day with my heart rate shooting up to 130 bpm. The therapist made me stop and instantly called to speak with Dr Otero and didn't get a answer. I was told to go home because we could not do any more exercises until he spoke with the Dr. Well, needless to say after making several calls and leaving messages the therapist never heard back from Dr. Otero or his office staff and would not see me without their call back. I'm going to have to say this is pretty sad for the type of doctors that are in this office...you know...HEART DOCTORS...or are they Grim Reapers!
