The owner, Rebecca Ryan, is sharp woman who is incredibly knowledgeable about Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and is a great parent resource! Family time is extraordinarily important to us since all our family lives outside of Austin, but that caused us to miss out of school for weeks. Sandbox ABA worked with us to make sure our child didn't have extreme behavioral regressions (through parent support programs). I highly recommend you keep consistent with the school schedule. The more consistent you are, the better the results. Your efforts with Sandbox WILL make a difference! Sandbox also hires HIGH QUALITY therapists! They are personable and respectful! And if you have any issues, they don't ignore or dismiss your concerns. Sandbox doesn't just work with the child -- they have tailored programs to support (and encourage!) parents. I can't express my gratitude enough to this behavioral therapy school. Thank you for saving my sanity!! Thank you for helping me understand HOW to set my child up for success!!

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience After Four Years of ABA Services…read more My daughter, who is autistic, had been receiving ABA services at Sandbox ABA since September 2022. After nearly four years with this clinic, our family was deeply disappointed by how her services were brought to an end. We received an email informing us that Sandbox ABA primarily serves preschool-aged children and that our 10-year-old daughter would need to transition to another program, with September 25, 2026, identified as her final day. What troubled us most was not simply the decision itself, but how it was communicated and handled. The clinic stated that the transition process had begun in June and referenced an earlier proposed discharge date of August 28. However, we had not received the communication or participated in the transition planning described in that email. As parents, we were left questioning how such an important decision regarding our daughter's care could have progressed without our knowledge or meaningful involvement. After almost four years of trusting this organization with our child, we expected greater transparency, better communication, and a more thoughtful approach to transitioning her care. We ultimately lost confidence in Sandbox ABA and decided not to return our daughter to the clinic. I want to emphasize that our disappointment is not about expecting a clinic to provide services indefinitely. We understand that programs have limitations and that a child's needs may change over time. Our concern is about the responsibility to communicate clearly, involve parents, and handle transitions with the care and professionalism that families deserve. Families of children with autism place an enormous amount of trust in the professionals responsible for their children's care. That trust should never be taken for granted. After nearly four years, this was an extremely disappointing way for our relationship with Sandbox ABA to end.

CARD meets a need in the Austin area by providing ABA to kids with autism. However, I'm only giving…read morethem 3 stars because I think parents generally get the shaft by CARD employees. If you have a child with autism, try to find them therapy through another center if you can. Therapists often cancel sessions as late as 30 minutes before they are scheduled, but parents are only allowed to cancel 3 sessions in 6 months with less than 24 hours' notice. Everyone who has kids know that illnesses strike, especially when your child is in school. After that, you have to pay for sessions missed. You can't waste their time, but they get to waste yours. When new schedules are being made for each quarter, parents are the last to know and often get only a week to review new schedules before they go into effect, if that. New therapist are constantly being trained, which means your child has to accommodate a new therapist visiting often and conducting therapy programs with him/her. This has been a generally negative experience in my opinion since many kids with autism do not do well with new people in this capacity. In general, considering how much they charge my insurance company, we will be looking elsewhere soon. There are some really good therapists here, but they are not the norm.
