That was me before we switched away from KidTherapy and to another PT. My daughter saw Jenny for PT about 3 times before we switched. The front desk staff are nice, but Jenny started our sessions 5-10 minutes late all 3x (which is significant when the session is only 30 minutes). She would oftentimes be rushing through the front door when we were in the lobby as her first patient for the day. She was a lovely person, but now it angers me to realize how my daughter was not receiving proper guidance & care. During our evaluation she took zero notes; just drew little drawings to try to show me what exercises to do at home. The evaluation at the other office had a full rubric/the PT took notes on her computer, etc. Multiple times Jenny would tell me "You should be a PT!" when I would share my observations of my daughter's gross motor skills. And I kept thinking "I'm only doing this because she's not receiving the guidance that she needs." I would leave appointments feeling more overwhelmed and had more questions than I arrived having. Jenny would frequently ask me to remind her what we did last time or what exercises we were working on; things that should have been recorded by the professional we were paying for the session. Overall, it was not a professional experience and I was right to trust my gut and try a different therapy center, because the difference has been night and day. My daughter has made more progress elsewhere in 1 session than she did in 3 sessions over 1.5 months at KidTherapy.

They took up my time for a scheduled virtual appointment addressing billing questions, and when that was done, the provider said she wasn't available to see me, but they still charged me anyway. I'm now receiving more bills from them, for nothing! I have requested to speak with a manager several times, and the crazy rude woman in the office says she's the manager. Save your mental health and go elsewhere!

Every meeting at Roots felt cold and impersonal. When I did open up about struggles all I received was a "thank you for sharing" with no insight or plans to address anything I was going through at future meetings. They were not at all shy about charging for canceling my last appointment same day. They didn't even bother to ask my name or any reason why I'd be terminating care. No offer to switch providers just "we have your info" and that was it.

One of the most upsetting parts of our experience occurred after we informed the clinic that our child had eloped from our home by climbing out of a window, despite us having installed window locks. Shortly after sharing this information, we were reported to Child Protective Services. We felt that, instead of working with us to help keep our child safe or providing the support they had discussed, the situation was escalated in a way that left our family feeling shocked and unsupported. The Regional Clinical Director even had the audacity to tell us that "even good parents make mistakes." Throughout our time at the clinic, we were repeatedly told that we would receive resources and guidance to help address our child's behaviors and safety concerns. In our experience, those promised resources were never provided. Parent guidance sessions also did not meet our expectations. We often felt our concerns were not meaningfully addressed, and there were occasions when the clinician appeared distracted during sessions, including conducting parent guidance while caring for their own child. We left many meetings feeling that our questions went unanswered and that the assistance we were promised never materialized. We were also very concerned about our child's safety while at the clinic. During one incident, our son struck an unprotected desk corner, resulting in a deep cut near his eye that required three stitches. We feel fortunate the injury was not even closer to his eye. We were dissatisfied with how the incident was handled and did not agree with the explanation we were given afterward. We also questioned the accuracy of some of the services and insurance billing documentation we received because it did not appear to reflect the services that were actually provided during our experience. Overall, our experience was one of poor communication, unmet promises, lack of meaningful parent support, and concerns about both safety and professionalism. Every family's experience may be different, but ours left us feeling unsupported during a time when we were actively seeking help for our child. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions about parent guidance, documentation, safety procedures, and billing practices before choosing this provider. We have complained about our BCBA and we're still stuck with the same one even after we had proof that she failed to scheduled important meetings with us and was dishonest about information provided to us. Ultimately, we have been burned by this company and out of fear for other families, we insisted on writing this review to protect our community, especially our special babies. To add to the concern, there were numerous times our son would walk out to the lobby where the main front door was with no therapist on site and this center was very close to the street. Please look for other ABA companies in this area instead. Protect your baby!

I'd never heard of group therapy outside of a rehab setting, but the combination of individual attention and working with others in a group has made it easier for me to recognize how my own reactions are received in others. Going to Deep Eddy feels so indulgent because I am taking the time solely for working on myself. However, the time I spend here has improved my outlook, my self image, my attitude, and every single relationship in my life. I really only needed them to manage 4 medications (lithium, Quetiapine, lamotrigine and propranolol) no controlled substances. The dosages were already figured out. All the work had already been done for them. I also listed a bunch of other PRNs that I had tried while in treatment that i wasn't currently taking. Again no controlled substances, they were trazadone, gabapentin, hydroxyzine. I've been a RN for over 12 years, I was the supervisor on the first acute care floor in central tx to take on covid. The first wave really did a number on me that caused a lot of my PTSD. Anyway, what im trying to say is I tell people when they haven't been honest with me, to avoid being resentful toward them. When I tried to set up this appointment to see a PA for medication management I was denied because I was too "high acuity." What happened before that was me giving Christopher Keener some honest feedback on his response time. They wouldn't confirm the appointment until they had a credit card on file. Before I could put my husband's credit card on file I had to fill out a release of information form. Which made me feel like a criminal that had to prove my innocence. Credit card information has nothing to do with HIPAA. I have never heard or been asked to do this before. I was told I would be called as soon as it was in. I did it right away, waited, emailed to see if he received it, waited a little longer, tried to access my portal to enter the card but it hadn't been set up, I called back got someone different they said they sent him a message and he would be calling back in 20mins, it never happened that day. I wanted to get it done because I was finishing up treatment the next day and wouldn't have my phone on me. They would only hold the spot for 24hrs and i was worried I'd loose it. No attempt was made to reach out to me for clarification, no doc to doc was requested. Just a refusal. The corespondance is copied and pasted below. Notice the times. I gave him some honest feedback about response time at 11:46 and the refusal was sent at 11:52. I think somebody(Christopher Keener) may have got in their feelings and did this passive aggressive lash out. I'm really surprised that a therapist(Christopher keener) could have such thin skin. If you don't, you won't be able to get to it and see your account, billing, balance etc. Here's my experience: I went to Anew Era for 5 years. My psychiatrist was knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. I was manually paying my standard balance each month. And the office people were great. But this place changed in early 2025. Suddenly, my psychiatrist of 4 years was gone, I started getting auto-billed really high amounts I'd never seen before with no explanation, and I was matched with a new psychiatrist I did not choose for myself. I was done when my balance showed $100 right before an appointment--an amount I've seen countless times before. I didn't pay it ahead of time, so they cancelled my appointment, which is completely understandable. But a few days later, I went to pay that $100 balance, and it had jumped to $400. Mind you, I hadn't had an appointment in those few days, the office told me there would be no late fees applied, and my medication was not refilled. How does my typical $100 balance suddenly soar to $400. I have never been charged that much before, so I checked my payment history and it was wiped clean. Why could I not see my previous statements all of the sudden, when I was able to for the past 4 years? I was going to call the office about it, but remembered when I called and asked about odd amounts they auto-charged me for in the past, they were rude, defensive, and wouldn't explain those strange charges. Keep in mind that for four years, my insurance did not change and I made consistent manual payments without a single issue. So recap: out of nowhere, my psychiatrist was gone without a word. They start auto-charging my card without my consent and prior notification--and the amounts are astronomically higher than anything I've paid over the last few years. On another note, the office people who answer the phones are just so awful to deal with. They're always angry, dismissive, not helpful, and rude to the patients for no reason. (I can only assume they're fed up because their phones are ringing off the hook due to all of their company's mistakes, billing discrepancies, sketchy practices, and lack of communication with patients) But office people, do not take your frustrations out on the patients, look at the bigger picture: the company you work for is causing all of these issues that you then have to deal with over the phones. I can only hope most of them are getting new jobs at a reliable company or health group, because they are not having a good time at Anew Era. Don't go here :)

They also verified that I would be fully covered by my insurance. Filled out the forms online and had my records from Florida transferred over easily. When it came time for my appointment, I was greeted at the front desk and checked in. I made sure to arrive 15 minutes early in case there was more paperwork, but I was all set. The nurse took me back and I was in and out within 20 minutes total. Super quick and easy. Dr. Hagan is very nice and does not rush you.
