Great Mexican food and service with value for the money. The have horchata. Daily specials.

The chips were good, and the nachos held up. But other than that, if you're looking for real Mexican, skip it. It was very Americanized "Mexican." The tacos were flavorless, salt helped a little. The guacamole didn't taste or look like guacamole - pea soup green, mashed to be almost soupy, no tomatoes, onions, or anything you would expect to find in guacamole and drab, odd taste.

This is the next day from the restaurant. It looks terrible and it hurts.

Okay, food is really good here and its cheap. Last night though, I went to eat and something was just biting the heck out of my mom and I. You would think its allergies from food but I started itching moment after I sat down. We told the waiter in spanish and he just giggled. Then when we was going to pay the host giggled about the situation. If they have cameras they can see I kept checking my leg to see what it wrong. This morning I wake up and the bite are swollen just horrible and they are hot plus hurting. You all need to do better and control bug problem and deep clean that nasty carpet. I will be adding a photo.

San Marcos is one of the best and affordable Mexican restaurants Montgomery has to offer. I have frequented it for more than a decade and I don't ever get tired of it. It may not be as pretty as some of the other Mexican joints in town, but then again that's some of its charm. Seating is usually immediate, especially for parties of two or four. The church crowd for Sunday lunch does fill the place up, but even when the place is packed service is speedy and exceptional. They bring out warm chips and fresh salsa before they get your drink order. I usually don't get sweet tea at restaurants because it's usually too variable, but I get it frequently at San Marcos and it never disappoints. To my delight, they serve their tea and Coke products in enormous glasses which the friendly, non-gringo waitstaff keep filled. The portions for their combos and "plates" are huge. I end up taking half of my meal home if I get a combo plate... or I just feel miserable after insensibly eating the whole thing. For the best experience, I usually get an ala carte item like a guacamole taco and then split an order of cheese dip with my table. The cheese dip is perhaps the best in town: warm, kinda runny, and just the right amount of mild spicy heat (my wimpy mother can handle it, so it's not too spicy). On special occasions the wife and I split some Fried Ice Cream, which is pretty freaking delicious. They also serve other South-of-the-border desert favorites. While I am not a "drinking" man, I do know they offer the requisite Mexican beers as well as some domestics, and giant fish-bowl margaritas and daiquiris. I'm pretty sure they run nearly nightly drink specials, among specials on dinners. They offer really affordable lunch specials every Mon. -- Sat. from 11 am to 2 pm. My picky vegetarian wife loves the Enchiladas Rancheras, in addition to the other veggie selections they offer. Dad loves the Chile Relleno (though he can't pronounce it). Mom is all about the Chicken Quesadillas. My brother-in-law gets the Steak Fajitas. And my sister and I float around the menu getting whatever suits our fancy, never to be disappointed.

I'm in early. People are flowing in now.

This Mexican restaurant has a very different feel than most of your traditional Mexican…read morerestaurants. It didn't have all the Spanish decor and music playing. It has a very open dining room and accent lights along the walls. We had a young man named Jackson as our server. He seemed a bit timid but provided great service. He made suggestions on dishes and made sure we had what we needed as the meal progressed. My friend, who has frequented this place before stated that their menus were new. I have included photos of the food menus. For me, they weren't very user friendly or organized well. Either way, we figured it out. The dishes were generous in portions and very very delicious! I had the meal #44 which is the Naked Pablano Pepper which I got with chicken. My friend took Jackson's recommendation of the #32 which is the Plato de Carnitas. Great experience. Would definitely come back!

The slow-cooked brisket tacos are absolutely on point: tender, rich, and packed with flavor that keeps me coming back. Every visit has been consistent, and that's what I love most--you know you're going to get great food and great service every time. Sol Taqueria really nails that balance of authenticity and comfort. It feels like a place you can count on, whether it's your first visit or your tenth.

Absolutely incredible service - Cesar was an incredible server: taking orders, making the drinks,…read morerunning the food - and catching the last minute requests and adjustments. He was incredible. Not enough positive feedback could properly articulate his service for our large group! Jose was equally as attentive while we were planning before we arrived to Montgomery and made it so seamless even a quick check in day of the confirm location. The food was killer! We had a little bit of everything: * build your own queso (SO good. A whole meal, really.) * lots of fajitas * tacos * carne asada * chimichangas * and more... All was so good! Kudos to everyone! Definitely recommend. The restaurant itself is such a vibe - building is cute, easy parking.
