Some of the best Mexican food in east Montgomery. I love their cheese dip and guacamole. On Thursday night they have a nice margarita night that me and my fiends always enjoy. I always end up getting the steak quesadilla because it never disappoints. If you have any more room after the main course, try their sopapillas. We love "Tips.". We go there a lot after church on Sunday - they give you 15% off if you bring a church bulletin. The food and service is great. They have a lot of things on the menu that are a cut above the regular Mexican restaurant. They also don't mind that we share plates. For example, my wife and I share #80 - a huge chicken burrito deal with rice, salad, and refried beans all inside it. We get the medium salsa. It has a lot of cilantro in it. We have small kids so the move there is to let them share a cheese quesadilla and fries from the child's menu, then order another taco for them to share. If everyone orders water you're out of there for about $15 (not incl tip). read more

Love, LOVE this place. My friends and I made this place a weekly routine. In my opinion it's the best Mexican food in Montgomery (I grew up on the Mexican border). Service is occasionally an issue, but most of the time it's good. The only real problem with this place is it seems to struggle keeping its health rating above 90. About a year ago it dropped into the mid 80's for a few months. I'm sure they were given a deadline to improve because a few months later it was up to mid 90's. Now, 11/16/15 back down to about 87. I don't know who manages the place, but they need to crack the whip, apparently. But I love the food!!! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF I COULD USE NO STARS I WOULD. My family and I usually go to this restaurant but never again. My experience has been the worst and the woman who seems to be the managers wife was extremely rude. From the moment I called to report that the food I picked up was soggy and not good to eat, she immediately began losing her temper and snapped at me that that is how they ALWAYS serve a quesadilla to go with salad. Which caused the quesadilla to be soggy. She turned the phone to the manager and I let him know I did not want problems I just wanted a new one made. He calmly said to come in for a new one. When I got there, the woman began "explaining" and very quickly snapped and asked if I was recording. She was rude and could not hold back. She threatened to sue me and said she'd get her husband (manager). He came with the excuse of me recording. I calmly explained the situation and that I just wanted my food and not a fight. He said it was fine and did but me off but was not impolite. She came back and tried to cut me off as I stated all she did was fight and snap from the beginning of my call and he had to stop her. I came home and the second quesadilla was soggy as well. I am tired of the bad service. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

Recently moved into the Montgomery area and in search of our new "go to" Mexican food restaurant. This isn't it. After trying two other places, the food here seemed generic and bland. We both had combinations with a chili rellano and I had a hard time identifying that there was in fact a small chili in there amongst the huge amounts of yellow cheese. Service was excellent, the salsa was good and appeared homemade. All in all not a bad place, but with others we've experienced that serve actual roasted palano chilis, no real reason to go back. read more

My friends and I love to come for the large quantity of meat they serve in the burritos, quesadillas and fajitas. We would always come here hungry and leave here mighty full. One word, Bland. Started out with the watery and bland salsa. Thats ok I dont expect much from salsa here in Montgomery. Then came the chili colorado. First the menu says its made with chicken. Chili colorado is not made with chicken, its beef(strike one). You can add beef but that means the beef has not been cooked in the sauce which is what helps give it its great flavor and thats what they do here. Knowing this I still ordered it as this is the menu item I use to test a restaurant for authentic flavor Id get back in Ca. What a surprise it was bland. The beef you could tell had been cooked seperatly and then thrown into a flavorless sauce. I dont know how you can make chili colorado, a dish made with lots of great ingredients so bland. Then came the beans. The beans were just as bland. Absolutly no flavor. The rice was typical mexican restaraunt rice. It had the most flavor out of anything I ate there and thats not saying much. Wait staff wasnt bad but they werent great either. They looked to be passing out a new menu item they were trying on everyone but they gave it to everyone but my girl and me. No biggie since we weren't happy with any of the other food just thought it was odd to not hit every table and just skip over one. Asked for a drink menu but never received it. After frequenting T De M for a number of years and enjoying it very much, it appears things have taken a turn for the worse. Tonight makes the third time we have felt like there is a noticeable decline in the condition of the restaurant, cleanliness, food quality and number of patrons. This visit may be our last, given we have closer options and therefore there is no need to travel across town for flies, roaches, dirty windows and blinds, sticky tables, and declining food quality and indifferent service. When they first opened I visited the establishment several times a week with friends and family. I loved their friendliness and the food was very good compared to some other locations on the east side of Montgomery, Alabama. However, the past few times I was not pleased. The salsa was not as good, chips were stale and cold, and even the food seem slopped together. I frequently sit at the bar, when alone or with a buddy, and we partake of the beers on tap and even a top-shelf margarita pitcher. The past time we order one, we were charged a little over $30.00 for a pitcher (which only serves four glasses). What in the hell? I even asked the bar tender, "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PRICE?" She proceeded to say it has always been that much and shrugged it off. NO, IT HAS NOT! She charged me the same as if we order four small top-shelf margaritas. RIP OFF! Listen closely, YOU LOST A CUSTOMER! Every other restaurant I visit, from Prattville to Montgomery, they only charge $17.99-$20.99 for their top-shelp margaritas in a pitcher. The pitcher is supposed to be less expensive than ordering four single margaritas. Come on, every one knows that! This is why two people or a group of people order a pitcher of beer or margarita. I have to add that I always speak Spanish with your wait staff, very friendly, and always tip 25-50% of my bill. Why would you do this to your customer? A good customer at that??? read more

The best thing on the menu for take out is the Mixed Fajitas for Two. It's enough for 3, maybe even 4 if one of your people happens to be a light eater. We have enjoyed this restaurant now for a few years and while it's not gourmet, it's certainly reasonably priced, generously portioned and tasty. I've never experienced the horrible service and uncleanliness other reviewers mention, T de M is one of Montgomery's better Mexican restaurants. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. The food was so bland! No seasoning/no flavor whatsoever. I got the mixed fajitas (chicken and steak) and the meat was overcooked, oily, and flavorless. The staff is friendly, but lazy - one of the servers was sitting in a chair watching the flatscreen tv (which should not be acceptable - are you paying people to watch tv?) and we noticed that he dozed off! We ordered fried ice cream for dessert - and that would have been fine, except for one thing - they put RAISINS in it! The sangria was good but came in extremely small wine glasses. I'm not going back and I doubt that this restaurant will stay in business long, unless people in Montgomery don't expect much. read more
