Enjoyable food but the service is a hit or miss. The chicken soup is awesome. No complaints with the food.

We're here every week! Love the food and the staff! Margaritas are top notch. Very kid friendly as well.

Terrible!! Poor service! They were not busy. We were seated then it took 5-8 minutes to take our drink order. Then placed our order. Also ordered cheese dip. It was never brought to us. But I was charged for it and didn't know until had already paid. I told the employee at front desk to tell the waiter he didn't get a tip b/c he charged me for cheese dip that he never gave us! I hope whoever reads this review takes me seriously. The service is bad and the food isn't much better than the service. This was only the 2nd time I had been there. The first time was ok(about 1 year ago) read more

This restaurant is by far the worst food I've ever tasted. The atmosphere, staff and food were horrible. The restaurant was muggy, sticky and filthy. (Not my idea to stay and try it). Will never return. The option for zero stars is not available, but I give it a -00 . read more

dont eat here!!! YOU WILL GET SICK!!!! Me and my friends went there as a going away party for my friend and WE ALL GOT SICK. The Beef Tacos tasted off and tasted sour. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! YOU WILL GET SICK!!!!! Its like they don't even care anymore. It used to be good and loved taking my family there but now i felt like i could catch an std just by sitting on the furniture. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE BROKEN BATHROOM! read more

I called in my order for pick up and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and it was not ready. Turns out someone else had taken my order and they had to remake it. I waited 30 minutes for the new order. Then I get home and it was not as I was expecting. I had gotten a taco salad with fajita chicken. It was extremely greasy and not really any salad. Mostly just meat, peppers and onions. I was very disappointed. Not sure if I'll be going back. read more

We live nearby and have always bought to go sides of rice ( as well as eat there quite often) for my grandson.. the packages were full enough he could never eat it all in one sitting, since Covid the portions are about 1/2 full.. brought it to managers attention., he says it's the same, never changed.. won't go there anymore, price increases and smaller portions and NO SERVICE ! read more

Food is always incredible, service is great, owner always comes to every table to check on you! 10/10!

Ordered the puerco verde for carryout ($11) which isn't on the online menu. Extremely small portion size and literally about two tablespoons of refried beans. Then they added a $2 carryout charge. Won't be ordering here again. read more

The family went for my sons birthday on 12/20/2021. This was our second and our last trip to this establishment. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp and rice and 15 minutes after his last bite he had to leave. He was very I'll from what he ate. The parking space next to his vehicle was a third of the way full with vomit. When the owner os San Marcos was notified he stated it wasn't his problem. Sir, if you own a restaurant and your patron gets sick from the food that came out of your kitchen, then Ye, it is your problem. I'm only giving 1vstar because that's the lowest I can give on here.... read more

Best Mexican around this area and very nice family that run it

Small, quaint & clean. This is your everyday American Mexican place. What sets this restaurant apart from the others is the amount of food you get for your money. My goodness the amount of food. I got a steak quesadilla dinner for $6.75 and little did I know it came with two quesadillas and rice and beans. The quesadilla was filled with cheese, grilled onions, grilled tomatoes and steak. It was so yummy! I glanced at the drink menu and the margaritas weren't back either. The other thing that really stood out to me was how clean inside it was. Literally freshly vacuumed floors and not a bit of trash on the floor. I will definitely be coming back. read more

San Marcos made my platos vegetarianos dreams come true. Exactly what I had in mind--could not have been more pleased. Very friendly staff and a clean restaurant. Free wifi. Highly recommended. read more

The food was delicious and the chips were fresh. There was quick and amazing service. 100% would eat here again.

Piss poor service. Food not too bad. Took a while to get check and no drink refills. Nice ambiance though.

San Marcos isn't the flashiest, cheapest, or even tastiest in the area. That said, when you're sitting at home thinking of what to do for dinner, there's no other place that will come to mind faster and will satisfy your craving for Mexican cuisine better than San Marcos. read more

Definitely the best tasting Mexican food IMO in Prattville or Millbrook. Inside is nothing special but service has always been very good. The street tacos are my go to but the tamales are a close second. read more

We have visited this restaurant before but lately the quality and service is very poor. It took 25 minutes to receive our plates after we ordered and they were not busy. Also, not one worker was wearing a mask or exercising proper safety precautions. Taking this location off the list! read more

About three or so times that my family & I have been to this restaurant, the food was good but the plates can be extremely HOT! Too hot!! Service seems slow sometime if I remember correctly. read more

the service was awful they where very rude and walked away while we where in the middle of talking they have roaches on top of gave my child food poisoning definitely would not recommend going there there's a reason they aren't ever busy! read more

Decided to have a quick meeting over wings and drinks... the atmosphere was very pleasant.. drink ok.. the wings over cooked but no big deal. The staff was VERY pleasant and attentive... checked on us constantly throughout our little meeting... read more

I kind of consider myself a connoisseur of flautas and chile relleno and this place was not on the top of the list of the best ones I've ever had. Flautas are made with flour tortillas but these were made with corn and the chicken inside was dry. Usually there's a poblano pepper with the relleno but it was a green pepper. And even though the menu prices are on the web from a link from Yelp the owner stated that she did not honor those prices and didn't know how they got there. It's just your basic Mexican food it's not anything special. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant to eat at in the region . Had dinner last night and everything was perfect as always . I would highly recommend San Marcos in Millbrook very clean and their health score is perfect . read more

Salsa decent, lime juice good, street tacos decent, service a little slow on a Monday.

Honestly cannot say enough good things about San Marcos! The street tacos are my new fav, but honestly, I've never had anything off the menu that wasn't excellent. The staff is very attentive and quick to get your food out to you. They keep check on you throughout the meal and make sure the chips and drinks are never empty. I've been eating here since they opened and I've never had a bad experience. read more

Terrible. If I could rate zero stars I would. I've been waiting for cheese dip for an HOUR everyone else has gotten theirs and our food is ALREADY here. If I get charged for it I will be very upset. read more

Without a doubt one of the best places to eat Mexican food. And absolutely the best margaritas!

One of my go to Mexican restaurants in town. Their food and drinks are always great! Decor could use an update though.

The only reason it gets two stars is the service was good. Tea was always refilled promptly. The food on the other hand - UGH! My shrimp smelled bad and the cheese enchilada tasty funky (& not in a good way). There are too many other choices for Mexican food in the area to settle for poor quality food. Steer clear and go somewhere else. read more

We visited this restaurant and it's not often that I walk out of an establishment and think to myself, "I just threw away 40 bucks." Nothing was seasoned well, almost everything was barely room temp and the tea was way way too sweet. Our experience was so terrible we would never go back. The employees were friendly, though. read more

I never could tell much a difference between the local Mexican restaurants until I ate at San Marcos. The food is so much better than anywhere else in the whole Montgomery area. The menu had more variety. The servers are awesome! Everything was clean and the atmosphere was excellent! read more

Used to be a great place to eat in Millbrook, but it is rundown, smelly and dirty. Carpet floor is sticky like an old movie theater's floor. It seems like they just quite trying... I don't think I'll be going there again. read more

This is now are go to Mexican restaurant. I love that they offer cheese dip with or without jalapeños, either way it is delicious. The service is fast and friendly and the food is very good. The selection is not very big average Mexican foods no authentic Mexican foods. Definitely try the chorizo dip. It is delicious and they give you copious amounts. read more

The waiter had a very hard time understanding what we wanted. When it arrived my faluta was crisp but tasteless, the chile relleno had no flavor and looked like refried beans. I finally found a bit of pepper underneath the mixture but it was completely raw, the taco was the least disappointing but didn't have much in the way of fillings. My tea was way too sweet. Thankful I'd asked for extra lemons. I ordered a side of beans but I was half finished with the meal by the time they came out, they too were tasteless. Everything was just barely warm. I won't go back. I could have just stuck a match to that ten dollar bill and been as satisfied as I was with my meal. I did leave a good tip. read more

Great food at great prices and smiling staff. A solid option for white cheese Mexican establishments

I couldn't make it halfway through my meal. This was the first time that I ever puked in a restaurant bathroom. I get some cheese can be a little funky but this was rancid. No matter how much I drank the taste just lingered. Just go to El Cerrito or El Patron. read more
