I couldn't be happier with my results from my upper and lower eyelid surgery with Dr. Iyengar. From the beginning, I felt comfortable and confident in my decision. The entire experience was professional, caring, and reassuring. I am extremely satisfied with how my eyes look. The results are natural looking, and I feel refreshed and more youthful while still looking like myself. I'm so glad I decided to have the procedure done. I would highly recommend Dr. Iyengar to anyone considering eyelid surgery. I'm very grateful for the wonderful care I received and absolutely love my results read more

The entire team at the San Diego Eyelid specialist was amazing! Dr. Iyengar was recommended to me by two of my girlfriends. Both were impressed by not only the quality of his work, but his relentless dedication to making sure that each, and every one of his patients were completely satisfied. I had met with two other eye surgeons and neither of them were nearly as thorough and patient as Dr. Iyengar. From the minute I met with him I knew that I was in extremely capable hands. For me, the fact that he was operating on my eyes, experience and talent were paramount when selecting a surgeon. I could not be happier with the results! read more

I had my upper eyelids done and Dr. Iyengar was great throughout the whole process. He was patient answering all my questions prior to the surgery and was very responsive with my concerns post-op. I had a blood clot with one of my eyelids and Dr. Iyengar called me back right away to assess the situation and address my concerns. He also made sure I would be able to contact him directly should the bleeding get worse. I surely appreciate his skills, expertise, and experiences in his field. I'm pleased to say the results look very natural and I'm super happy with them. read more

Very professional and detailed oriented. There is no one better! The results were better than I could imagine.

Dr. Iyengar came highly recommended to me from a prior patient Not only is his office staff so pleasant and accommodating, Dr Iyengar made the experience stress free. The upper bleft surgery took about an hour in office with little discomfort. I was concerned about the post surgery swelling but the doctor assured me that when the stitches were removed, the swelling would quickly go down. He was right on and my eyes look great. I had no problems post surgery and I have already recommended him to all my friends who have complimented me on how good I look! Thanks Doc..great care and excellent results. read more

Dr. Iyengar performed a ptosis procedure on my right eye, and the result is perfect. My eyes are now symmetrical, there is no visible scar, and I feel much more confident. Dr. Iyengar is incredibly skilled, caring, and professional. His staff is equally kind and attentive. I couldn't be happier with my results and I highly recommend Dr. Iyengar. read more

Dr. Iyengar is truly an artist and a master of his craft. My experience with him was nothing short of exceptional. I had upper blepharoplasty (and ptosis repair on one side), and the results are my dream outcome -- I look completely like myself, just brighter, more rested, and refreshed. My natural eye shape was preserved perfectly, which was very important to me. Dr. Iyengar was so easy to reach and communicate with throughout my healing process -- always patient, reassuring, and responsive to every concern. His skill and artistry speak for themselves, but his kindness and professionalism truly set him apart. His front desk and support staff are also wonderful -- warm, welcoming, and highly professional. I felt cared for from start to finish. I'm beyond thrilled with my results and would trust Dr. Iyengar again in a heartbeat. I was reluctant about having my eyes operated on. I did not want to not look like myself and having work done on such a visible area was scary. I'm happy to say none of those concerns were warranted. I love the way the surgery turned out. I look like myself and refreshed. I can't even see the scars anymore. I highly recommend them. The office staff is also great and attentive. read more

I got a benign mass removed from my left eyelid from Dr. Iyengar. He is a skilled surgeon and removed the mass well. However, his bedside manner is a zero. He was very chop chop in and out and treated me like a paycheck. He walked in with loops on, told me frankly that he would remove the mass and then numbed me up and cut it out. He did not go over the procedure before he did it nor aftercare instructions. He gave me a "you'll be fine" and sent me on my way. My experience did not align with all of the five star reviews and I would not see him again purely out of his lack of people skills. read more

Dr. Iyengar did an amazing job on my eyelids. More than10 years ago I had a doctor at an aestheticians office in Del Mar botch a Radiesse filler treatment in the temples. My left eye never recovered from it and became droopier over the years. At only 59 years of age Dr. Iyengar was recommended to me by an eye doctor. Dr. Iyengar specializes in asymmetry, whereas my left eye needed more correction than my right eye. I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Iyengar was thorough and even followed up with me with a phone call following the surgery and on a weekend. The staff is wonderful and I highly recommend. read more

This doctor literally saved me! The day before my wedding I had a traumatic accident and fractured my orbital bone, slashing my eyelid in half. I was so excited and confident in this office and doctor and couldn't wait for my blepharoplasty that I'd booked several months in advance. Due to a scheduling error on their behalf I was forced to reschedule which was difficult and stressful considering the hurdles I had go through to get the time off. Then a second time they asked to reschedule me for a family emergency. I had used all my vacation time for this and could not retract it, therefore I could not reschedule. I was able to get my deposit back but not the $250 consult fee. I think if they had decent customer service or wanted to retain patients they would have been accommodating. I give them 0 stars. When I told the gal on the phone that I'd be going elsewhere in the future her response was "well dang". read more

i was referred to Dr. Iyengar by my eye doctor, who had noticed that the eyelid on one of my eyes was noticeably drooping. I made an appointment to see him for his assessment. After my visit at the office, I made an appointment to have the upper eyelid surgery. Had the surgery in early February. During the surgery, Dr. Iyengar told me what he was during throughout the whole procedure. I Just had my 7 week checkup and he stated that my eyes looked very good and are continuing to heal well. Have received numerous positive comments from family and friends about the amazing difference the surgery made my eyes look. Thanks, Dr. Iyengar! read more

Best decision I ever made was to have Dr. Iyengar help me with an eyelid issue I had been suffering with for over 5 years. I might even go as far as to say finding him was an answer to a prayer. I had a very unfortunate outcome from a previous surgery to try to correct minor Ptosis in one eye that ultimately led to damage in both of my eyes. To make matters worse I saw at least 5 or more other eye lid specialists who told me there was nothing that could be done to help repair the damage or appearance of my eyes. I was just about to give up when I happened to find Dr. Iyengar. He has such a relaxed yet confident and professional manner I knew I was in good hands. I love that he heard my story and understood the issue and was certain he could help. And the results of his work were simply astonishing! This is a competent drama free doctor and drama free office. Every single person who works in this office is caring and nice 100% of the time. I think that Dr. Iyengar's calm and positive outlook and compassion just makes people around him feel happy and content. I give Dr. Iyengar and his office the highest recommendation. read more

I was not loving my droopy upper eyelids that made me look like a newborn kitten in photos. My aesthetician mentioned that another client had had a great experience with Dr. Iyengar so I went for a consultation and subsequent surgery. It went very smoothly and was virtually pain-free. After about eight days, I could go out again without feeling self-conscious. The results are subtle yet stunning. I look years younger and barely wear eye makeup anymore. I'm very happy that I found Dr. Iyengar and had this surgery when I did! read more

Dr. Iyengar has repaired Mohs surgeries around my eyes two times. Both surgeries were a great success. The second was particularly challenging as part of my eyebrow and part of my lower eyelid were removed. I was so apprehensive about what I might look like afterwards. I could not be happier. Your reply "3 months after the fact" now moves you to a 1, I would have preferred NO reply than "some patients are disappointed when turned down, making it sound like that why I wrote the review. NOT!!!! I wrote the review because I was not told, period! I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE GASLIGHT OTHERS! if you had integrity, you would have refunded my $150, that WAS NOT conveyed at time of booking, poor staffing, NOT MY FAULT and yes then you turned me down which AGAIN I am fine with, but both of them together means REFUND to me. What about my time, travel, wait, etc??. My friend, as I said has 100% coverage for medical purposes and he knew that! Stupid reply! I had an upper Blepharoplasty with local anesthesia done 7 weeks ago and am very happy with the results! I was born with hooded and uneven eyelids. The unevenness especially has bothered me my whole life. At 40, I've been able to fix it thanks to Dr. Iyengar. I look at my lids in the mirror every day now and smile. He was honest with the type of results I could expect for my specific eyelids and I feel that the end result looks natural. See pics (and yes I had my brows done as well between the two pics). His office manager is awesome. They were on time for all of my appointments. The recovery time was as described. I had minimal pain. Some other reviews mentioned issues with the $150 consultation fee.. It was clearly explained to me upfront that it was non-refundable but would go towards the surgery if I got the surgery. I had a good experience overall, less bruising than I expected, and I love having even eyelids now! read more

r. Iyengar is the gold standard for eyes. He does nothing but eyes! Which goes to how good he is. All of my referral requests pointed back to him, from my dermatologist to doctors who travel the world doing charity work: they all say he is the best. Don't go to a general plastic surgeon -- many get botched eye surgeries, and come to Dr. Iyengar to fix it. The photos of them in the office are very disturbing. Don't risk it! Every generalist will tell you "eyelids are easy" but just look at how many are botched. Come to a specialist who does eyelid surgery, only, multiple times each week read more

I recently saw Tiffany for a skin consult. She was so nice and helpful. Rather than trying to sell me treatments she knew wouldn't benefit me yet, she actually suggested waiting and getting a different treatment at another office first. That way I can get the best results with her for further improvements and maintenance. This was a less expensive route than what I had intended. She is so knowledgeable and honest! I've been seeing Dr Iyengar for a couple of years now. He did my upper blepharoplasty and does my Botox. He is an incredible surgeon and injector, as well as a genuinely nice and friendly guy. I'm thrilled with the upper bleph results and he always leaves me with minimal effects after the injections. We always have a nice chat while I'm there too. Haha. The front office staff is also helpful and courteous. I have nothing but good things to say about this whole office! read more

Dr.Iyengar is a skilled eyelid surgon. Really nice and personable. His assistant Christine is excellent . Unfortunatly I did not have the results I was expecting . I am a male over 60 with bags under my eyes. When I went to see Dr. he said he could do a 30% chance of improvement. I said 30% is better than none so I schedule my surgery . $5200 becaue I had to go under. He cut into my lash line to lift up the skin. No visable stiches . Then he pulled the sids back . Again no visable stiches. He alse removed fat pads. Healing was very good. Very little pain. I went back two weeks later and was encouraged by my results. As time wore on the bags the bags came back. I scheduled a revision . He tacked to bottom lids back further. Very little improvement. I went back again to have this done again and he did more tacking but with no better. My right eylid dropps one millimeter lower that my left. He said he cant fix it. 2 years post surgury my eye bags look the same as when i first went to see him. For the money it cost me I expected a better results. I am now looking at some filler to flatten out my bags. Like I said he is a fantastic surgon. He just did not give me the results I was hoping for. I was dissapointed in my surgery read more

I would definitely recommend Dr. Iyengar and the entire staff at San Diego Eyelid Specialists. I had an upper Blepharoplasty and I'm quite happy with the result! Takes 10 years off your face - no kidding. In particular, he doesn't go overboard - I was able to completely shut my eyes even during the swelling phase, which made it much easier. Dr Iyengar did an upper bleph on me recently and the outcome is outstanding! He was straightforward in his approach to my care before, during & after. I came to Dr. Iyengar after years of searching for the right Doctor to perform my eyelid surgery. You don't want the Doctor that did your boobs to do your eyelids, right? No, what you want is an Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. The first impression when you arrive to his office is his incredible staff. You can tell he promotes a very comfortable work environment and everyone is very chill and friendly. Had my consultation, scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks later. The day of surgery I was a bit anxious and nervous; especially knowing I was going to be awake for the procedure. What a waste of emotion...When I got into the chair, Dr. marked up my eyes, showed me what he was going to remove and said "what music do you like?" I named a few bands and then he said "Alexis, play Pearl Jam". Honestly, the numbing was so quick, 2 hair thin needle injections on the outside of each eyelid and it was done. Your eyeball is covered and you don't see anything but most importantly, you don't feel anything! So there I was, completely relaxed, rocking out to Pearl Jam, and in 35 minutes I was done! After this numbing wore off I felt a little sore but nothing the ice pack didn't take care of. The next day I felt no pain. I never even took a Tylenol, honestly! I did every thing I was supposed to do, as instructed by his surgical nurse, and at my 6 week post operative appointment you can not even see where the surgery happened. My eyes look amazing, I'm wearing mascara again, I have regained my peripheral vision and my confidence is at an all time high. I could go on and on but the result of my surgery is OUTSTANDING!! Thank you so much Dr. Iyengar and staff. I am forever grateful for what you did for me! read more
