I love my new boobs! I am about 4 months post op from my breast augmentation with Dr. D'Souza and I think he did an amazing job! We went with 350cc, Sientra implants and they look great! Natural, proportionate and they totally fit my body! Prior to the surgery I met with Dr. D'Souza and we discussed all the details involved in the procedure. I wanted some volume, but I didn't want it to be to obvious. I had a size in mind that I thought would be appropriate, and I was incredibly relieved when Dr. D'Souza not only agreed, but didn't try to encourage me to go bigger at all or push me outside my comfort zone. On the contrary, he made me feel comfortable and sure of my decision to go through with the procedure. A week before the surgery, I had some concerns and I was having some doubts about the size. I went in for my post op appointment and Dr. D'Souza answered all my questions and reassured me of my decision to go with the size we agreed upon. A couple days before my surgery, I got a phone call that someone came down with COVID at the medical facility I was scheduled to have my procedure done and they were going to close as a precaution. I was really bummed as I had already arranged transportation and all the details following the surgery, and I was excited and mentally preparing myself for it. Dr. D'Souza and his team worked together to find another medical facility that could fit me into their schedule. They managed to get me in on the same day and I was so grateful! The facility was great, I had an amazing nurse, and the surgery was effortless. I just went in, said hi to Dr. D'Souza and his medical team, fell asleep and woke up a few hours later. I woke up a bit nauseous and that sucked, but they warned me about it and it went away quickly. I was very swollen and sore for a while after surgery. It wasn't anything I couldn't function through though. I was actually up and walking around the evening after my surgery. I was perscribed a heavy pain killer, but I never even used it. I got by fine with just ibuprofen. The worse part for me was having to sleep on my back for a few weeks. I am not a back sleeper so it was hurting my lower back, but I think I was able to sleep on my side 3 weeks after surgery. The swelling and soreness slowly lessened and eventually went away. The recovery really was pretty easy and quick. I began going back to the gym to walk on the treadmill and do light excercise after about 4 weeks. I still was very cautious of doing anything with my upper body and tried not to use my chest at all. I was cleared by Dr. D'Souza to begin light upper body again at 6 weeks. As my boobs started to settle into place, I noticed that one was sitting higher then the other. I spoke to Dr. D'Souza about it at my 6 weeks post op appointment and he reassured me that it wasn't an issue. He said that they are sisters, but not twins and they won't heal exactly the same, but to give it time. I continued to do my breast massages and they did start to look more of the same. I am 4 months post op now and they are perfect! My scars are barely noticeable as they are under the breast fold and they are healing well. The tape took about 1-2 weeks to come off and the stitches went away like 3-4 weeks after the surgery (which felt like a long time, but if that happens to you, don't worry). It's a little annoying, but it was allowing my incision to heal properly so I left it alone and let it do it's thing. I highly recommend Dr. D'Souza and his whole staff. As in, so fantastic! I went in for a removal of 13 year old implants and to replace them. From the minute I walked into the office I was so comfortable with the vibe. Extremely unpretentious and friendly while very professional. My first experience with having implants was from an also quality surgeon, but this time was a whole different experience. I literally haven't had to ever wait at all for my appointments. I arrive on time and the doctor and his staff are ready. Which is a huge thing that I have loved. There is no fuss. Just extreme niceness and getting right to it. Every appointment has been extremely efficient. Dr. D'Souza was so present and involved every step of the way. The first time I got implants, I spent so little time w the doctor. I saw him once for about 3 minutes during the consultation and never once afterwards. I literally wouldn't have recognized this doctor of mine if I ran him over in a parking lot a week later. He did not have any connection w his clients. This cannot be said for Dr. D'Souza. He spent so much time w me, during the consultation, making sure he got exactly what I wanted right and us trying to figure out what size implants I already had. You'd think I would have known, but 13 years later, I had forgotten and we had to guess. I wanted to go just a little bit up from the size I had. He explained his whole process of how he does his implants, like he had all the time in the world. So patient and non rushed. Turned out I was totally wrong on the size of the implants I'd had. I thought they were 350cc. And it seemed like a good guess but I have no breast tissue so the implants were actually 450cc when the doc got in there. So I ended up with a mildly size smaller implant but man, you'd never know. My husband keeps arguing with me that they're actually bigger. Lol. Cause they look that good now. My breasts had been slightly ballooned out over the sides before and when Dr. D'Souza put my new ones in, even though they are a bit smaller than my old ones, he took all this care and closed up my sides and made my new implants not go off to the side. So they look just as the same size and absolutely lovely. Like, totally perfect boobs. I am so happy!! The texture is super natural feeling and they look exactly like you'd never know I had implants and think I was born w these. He's kinda a genius in how much he makes a body look completely natural and yet so ahhhsome. After my first implant procedure I was in so much pain for 3 days. After this one I literally didn't even take one ibuprofen. I kid you not. I don't know how he does this, but he's incredible. HUGE snaps to his anesthesiologist too. I usually get really sick when I wake up after I am put under. I wasn't even remotely nauseated after I woke up. Dr. D'S has been there for my 3 post op appointments and fully committed to every thing about this whole deal. I would DEFINITELY recognize this guy if I ran him over in a parking lot a week later. So it's been about a week since I got my breast augmentation done with Dr. D'Souza and I am feeling great! It started off with a quick phone call which ended up in a free consultation. During my consultation, Dr. D'Souza gave me his professional recommendations, which was a breast lift. My breast are droopy, so I knew that was an option I had to think about. But since I am still young, I decided I did not want the lift, just the breast augmentation. (I didn't want the extra scarring) Dr. D'Souza took his time to explain the difference and how that might impact the final look of my breast. (Which gave me peace of mind since my mother had just gone to a consultation of her own [in LA] and was "recommended" she go with the biggest implants possible since she had droopy breast as well) We talked about sizes after we agreed on just the breast augmentation. I had decided to go with the 385cc which I tried on the first picture. The other option I liked was the 350cc. I believe they were silicone gel (Dr can correct me if wrong) I had selected the 385cc but ended up switching to 355cc after sleeping on it. I was scared my breast would sag too much Dr. D'Souza always made sure I was happy and comfortable with my choice. Once I got to my breast augmentation appointment, (in La Jolla) I was met by very friendly and professional staff. The RN and the anesthesiologist were AMAZING! My mother in law was with me and she felt comfortable leaving me in their hands because they always made sure to keep her informed of what was going on behind the scenes. During my surgery, I was put to sleep (I was so nervous because I've never been put to sleep or had surgery before) All I remember is us joking around about something and next thing you know I woke up with breasts! I can tell you this, It was quick and didn't feel any pain when I was done with surgery! I even cried a bit when Dr. D'Souza showed me the picture of my "after". I finally felt like I had the breast I should've had all along.... My mother in law was taking care of me the first 2 days but by the 3rd day I felt GREAT. I never took the prescribed pain killers, I took Tylenol instead. I've had "some" discomfort here and there but nothing that makes me want to take pain killers. I was so happy with my results! I was so scared that my breast would not be as I imagined , but I feel they came out BETTER than I even expected them to look. I was interested in a rapid recovery BA last month (yes spur of the moment) after doing research I found that Dr. D'Souza was the only one in the area I could find that specialized in this type of Augmentation. His office was clean, organized and his staff were so nice and accommodating. I felt so comfortable the moment I walked in, especially considering it was my first plastic surgery appointment. Dr D'Souza was so patient with me and answering all my questions. My first consult I got to try on a couple sizes and discuss the look I was going for with Dr. D'Souza. I really appreciated how he was able to explain the sizing to me and keep me looking natural which is what I wanted. I told him I originally wanted a lateral curvy look in which Dr. D'Souza quickly explained that that was unnecessary since our breasts naturally fall to the side as time goes on. Thank god he told me that! Once I went back for my second consult (pre-op) I told Dr. D'Souza how I wanted to go as big as I could for my frame and still looking natural. He explained that 300cc would be the max that he would go on me and I trusted him! The day of my surgery I went to the surgery center in Encinitas. The staff there were amazing! As a nurse myself I like to know all the staff and get a good rapport with them since my life is in their hands basically! The nurses and anesthesiologist were laughing and joking with me right up until I fell asleep. I even asked the anesthesiologist if she could forego my lash extensions when taping my eyes closed and she accommodated me! Little things like that really make an experience. I woke up to Dr. D'Souza and the nurses telling me how well the surgery was and he even showed me pictures and texted them to me so when I woke up from my post op nap I got to see my new boobs! The next day I was able to FaceTime with Dr. D'Souza as it was the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. I really appreciated that I was able to stay home and rest. Dr. D'Souza was able to look at my breasts and fill me in on what to expect now. They looked amazing, I was thrilled. Fast forward to today, I'm just shy of 3 weeks post op and I couldn't be more happy. My breasts are slowly dropping at their own rate, the are becoming more round (less cone shaped) and my body is looking curvy! I am on light duty for 6 weeks but completely able to function in daily life. I started working out lower body at 2 weeks. I'm so happy to write this review for Dr. D'Souza and his incredible team at Iconic Plastic Surgery. In my research, I came across Iconic Plastic Surgery and Dr. D'Souza. His reviews were far and away, so much more positive than many other plastic surgeons and his patients were so appreciative of his surgical and artistic skills, and caring bed side manner. I booked a consultation at Iconic Plastic Surgery and the experience was so comfortable and I left feeling very educated on the procedures I was considering. Dr. D'Souza was very kind, patient and thorough in answering all of my many questions. The entire team was wonderful from that first consultation day, through my surgery day and many recovery appointments. I'm now 6 months post-op. I decided to have a full mommy makeover; breast lift and augmentation, tummy tuck and 360 lipo. I felt very well prepared by Dr. D'Souza and his team leading up to surgery day, and called the offices probably a dozen times at least with questions prior to surgery day, which his staff patiently answered every single time. AHHH-MAZING. From start to finish I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, reassuring and easy process with the most perfect results. I started out by looking into plastic surgery offices near me (the Bay Area) and not one of them gave me the vibe I got from the first phone call I made to Iconic. It started with a phone consult going over the process of a breast augmentation. I have never ever been put under or had any type of surgery or stitch in my life so to say I was nervous is an understatement. I decided to book the procedure just 3 weeks after my phone consult. I drove down to San Diego for my pre op and was given every piece of information I could possibly need for surgery the next day I went home feeling more and more excited. Then the big day came, I walked into the surgery center and every single employee reassured me I would be okay and I was in good hands. The nurse went over with me what I would dress into and held me as I walked into the room to lay on the bed for the procedure and without even feeling the pinch of the needle I faintly remember saying " my cheeks are tingling" and I was out. I woke up with the same wonderful nurses by my side making sure I was comfortable and wow just an hour later Dr D'Souza gave me the new breasts I wanted!! They gave me water apple sauce and goldfish (I was starvinngggg) called my ride to let them know I was recovering and ready within 30 minutes. They wheel-chaired me to the car, My ride (mom) picked me up drove me back to her house, about 30 minutes away. I had about .5% of pain from the time I woke up. It felt like I had just worked out for 5 hours straight but I knew it would be sore because I was prepared for it. I work remote and was back to work Thursday morning at 9am. I also have a 3 year old boy full time who knew I had owies but not once did it take away from me being involved in his everyday things (we were just more cautious) Surgery was Wednesday at 1pm. The first week I took only Tylenol every couple of hours and NOTHING else. I couldn't believe it. **I'll be sure to come back and update post-op, but I had such an amazing experience with my consultation, I just had to leave a review!!** When looking into surgeons for BA consults, I was extremely thorough in reading reviews, checking their work online, getting firsthand recommendations from friends. I put Dr. D'Souza's office on my list for a consultation somewhat reluctantly, because he was the only surgeon I had not received a personal recommendation for. But after reading the reviews here on Yelp, I decided to give him a shot. Iconic ended up being my first consultation, and the best! My husband and I were immediately welcomed and made to feel at home in the office. The staff was warm, helpful, and ready to answer any and all questions. I was a little nervous, as it was my first consultation, but immediately was put at ease. Throughout the consultation, MY needs and desires were put first. (We definitely did not experience that at other consults.) Before even starting the exam, Dr. D'Souza asked plenty of questions to get to know me, find out what I was hesitant or curious about, and thoroughly explain his preferences for techniques and his experience. He showed us several examples of his work, asking if I was looking for similar results, or what I would like to see differently. We were never rushed, or uncomfortable during the visit, and he was beyond patient with all the questions we had. His goal seemed to be education about the entire process and experience, which is refreshing when working with a medical professional. After consultation with another surgeon, whose recommendations and methods varied widely from Dr. D'Souza's, we called the office and asked if he had time to sit down with us again to answer more questions. The answer was "ABSOLUTELY!" I was thoroughly impressed with his willingness to sit down and have another impromptu face-to-face conversation on short notice, when our questions could probably have been answered over the phone. After spending alot of months searching for the right Plastic Surgeon to replace my old implants with new.   I decided to check out Dr. D'Souza.  When I arrived for my consultation, the facility was very welcoming with very pleasant, professional staff members. My visit was only to grab some advice and information. Since I currently had my first Augmentation above the chest cavity. This time i knew i wanted my implants under the muscle to give me the more natural look but not loosing any size in cup. When Dr. D'Souza gave me his professional opinion in regards to the size cup etc.    My thoughts were, I'm going to loose my cup size and I was very skeptical.  Once he explained the whole entire procedure under the muscle. He was very adamant that the size would give more an athletic appearance. So i took his word. Even though i was still worried about my cup size. Thats when you have to trust the professionals advice. Again Dr. D'Souza was very adamant and was very confident in his decision. I like Doctors that are very thorough and very passionate about his patients appearances. After visiting Dr. D'Souza I really never knew the difference between a cosmetic surgeon and a plastic surgeon.  Now I strongly recommend going to a plastic surgeon.  My first Augmentation was done by a cosmetic surgeon.  The surgery went well but they were over the chest cavity and over the years they dropped. Now since I have them under the cavity they look more natural.  They match my body physique very well. I have that athletic look like Dr D'Souza mentioned. Dr. D' Souza is a man of art and perfection.   I can't thank him enough.  With my complications I had afterwards were due to a recent cold . I was very scared and dr. D'Souza was very calm and took good care of me. Dr. D'Souza and his Iconic Surgery team are Excellent! Look no further for the most caring, talented and honest plastic surgeon- Dr.D'Souza is who you should trust, you will be in amazing hands. All of the outstanding Yelp reviews I read beginning in 9/2022 led me to Dr.D'Souza in June 2023. Dr.D'Souza was clear and realistic when discussing options for replacing my 16 year old silicone implants (by different surgeon on the East coast), as they were over due and the left side had developed a contracture. My surgery went well, I did need a drain on the left side which we had discussed may be the case prior to surgery. Pain was minimal throughout the entire recovery! Facetime follow-up with Dr. D'Souza the day after surgery to see how you are doing and how things are looking. Recovery went smoothly, I did take it easy ( I'm late middle age,no kids,retired) and I followed ALL Dr.D'Souzas' recommendations. The drain was removed at my post op visit in the office. I had minimal swelling and no bruising of note. The post surgical bra Dr. D'Souza uses is wonderful- wear it as instructed (I'm still wearing mine 6 months later because it is so easy on my shoulders and neck!). Dr. D'Souza will let you know when to begin the daily self massages which you should never stop. My incisions are smooth, not sensitive and healed nicely. My new implants are so much more natural feeling inside and out, and they don't get as cold as my previous implants. They are the best available and the only type Dr. D'Souza uses. Some tips to make the 1st couple of days easier- before surgery prep your room where you will be recovering with pillows (maybe elevate the head of the bed to make it easier to get up/down initially, I used a foam roll), and blankets, a towel or 2, and get prepared to REST for a couple days- You deserve it! I am absolutely in love with my results from Dr. DSouza I cannot stop saying enough great things about Iconic Plastic Surgery and how extremely attentive the staff and Dr. D has been from the consultation to the pre-op, post follow up and always being available to answer any questions I had along the way. I had a mommy makeover by Dr. D and I now I cannot stop starring at my beautiful breasts and body! I never thought I could love my body again after giving birth to four children and breast feeding them all. I was really nervous about the procedure and they did everything to make me feel at ease and gave me all the education I needed to make the best informed decisions. He even revised a scar that I thought I could never get rid of and now it is barely even noticeable. Even my skin is glowing now and I am now hooked on their skin product line because they were able to drastically reduce my rosacea and melasma within several months. Lizette, their aesthetician, made my skin so soft and vibrant just through a few treatments including a customized facial, prepared just for my complicated skin. The treatments included a TCA peel. One of my favorite things I discovered at Iconic was a technique called dermaplaning and now my skin has never looked better, it was quick and painless with no downtime at all! It feels extremely soft and supple and I've scheduled to come in on a monthly basis for this treatment. My experience with Iconic Plastic Surgery was an excellent one. I had breast implants in the 90's and I was never happy with the way they looked in addition to this I required 9 additional surgeries due to complications with capsules of scar tissue. For lack of a better word my breasts looked botched. In 2018 after one of my implants ruptured I was devastated. I didn't want to go to my old plastic surgon but also he had passed away so I couldn't and I was afraid there wouldnt be a doctor that would want to take on my case. Also I was afraid replacing the rupture from the old implant would leave me unsemetrical. My self esteem and my self confidence should not be attached to my breast implants but I gotta say they partially are. The tri city hospital referred me to Dr. DeSouza. I was so relieved when I called his office after hours to possiably leave a message and Dr.DeSouza answered the phone. I was in his office for a consultation within 2 days. I decided to have top surgery (breast augmentation) performed by Dr. D'Souza. I'd had rather negative experiences while consulting with other surgeons and was pleasantly surprised upon my first consult with Iconic. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the wait time before meeting with the doc was minimal. Dr. D'Souza was thorough in the way he explained things and answered any questions I'd brought up. I really appreciated the fact he was able to pull up examples of others with similar body types which helped to set the right expectations. The day of surgery went more smoothly than I could've hoped for. After meeting with some of the members involved with the surgery and Dr. D'Souza himself, the procedure was completed and I was on my way out of there before I knew it. The following day I had a post-op appointment and got to take the compression bra off to get a very early glimpse of the results. I honestly couldn't believe what I saw! Dr.D'Souza and his team are incredible! I've been wanting to do a breast augmentation for years and finally decided to start going to consultations. Some of the other doctors that had been in practice for 25+ years brushed me off, weren't patient, and they were rushing me out the door.
