Love the food, but the reason I rate low is there's no baby changing station. There's MORE than enough room in the bathroom and I had to sit on the floor to change my sons diaper. And the bathrooms could use some cleaning. read more

Sushi was perfect and their jalapeño poppers were delicious! Never experienced sushi style popper but worth going back for!! Reasonably priced and worth more visits! read more

They had great service here! They are a new business so service was expected to be slow and long wait times. That was NOT the case they were fast, and got our food out quick! The food was good, and fresh. We got a few different rolls, and all were good. I recommend the crunchy boy. The chefs were awesome, and kept us entertained! Once they get settled in, I think this place will be even more amazing! Def going back! read more

This is mine and my daughters first time. We got here around 600pm. It's not packed at all. Al.ost 20 mins later we still havent seen our waitress. They just keep walking by us. It took 15 mins to get our drink even though we said we were ready to order the girl just left. Still no one is helping us read more

I tried Samurai Sushi for the first time and it was beyond my expectations. Unfortunately I ordered it to go so I can't describe anything else other than my crunch dragon roll was absolutely delicious. My husband isn't much of a sushi fan and he also was impressed. I've tried 2 other sushi places in the area and wasn't wowed. Definitely looking forward to a dine in experience and trying something else out. read more

I had this place to-go when they opened and it was okay, but today dining-in months later it was amazing!! The sushi rolls, the teriyaki chicken sizzler plate, beef teriyaki were sooo good and the Gyozas were so delicious we ordered 2 more orders! We will definitely be back! read more

Wanted to try a new place. Came here to check out the new restaurant in town. Sorry to say, but this place needs improvement. The wait staff were polite enough, but needs training. One of them ask us how the Gyoza was because she never tried it. When we asked how the cheesecake was, the waitress was about to lie and say it was pretty good then laughs awkwardly to say she never tried it. It was unprofessional and really awkward. The food, not great. The Philadelphia roll had a fishy taste. The crunch roll was fine. Frozen gyoza tastes better... Prices, expensive for food that's not great. You could seriously buy frozen or instant Japanese food at the grocery store that taste better and cheaper. With that said, I hope they improve their menu/food and train their wait staff--have them try the food so they can actually provide recommendations on the menu. read more

Oh where to start..... The service here started out ok. We walked in, we were greeted promptly and asked if wanted a table or booth. I then ordered the goyza... waitress laughed to herself and corrected my prouncation. We then ordered a crunch roll and chicken udon. We also ordered chicken teriyaki bento box with california rolls..... The crunch roll sauce was very salty....like I'm going to drink soy sauce out a bottle salty. So was the miso soup. The chicken for my teriyaki chicken was clearly precooked and rehydrated with some water to make it editable . Which I probably wouldn't have noticed except that they didnt mix any teriyaki sauce with the chicken it was on the side. The rice on the plate was day old rice and was cold. The tempura was actually good. Although the sauce was cold and very salty. Now on to the california rolls....which even with my hatred of this state...was unfair to california. The sushi rice was overcooked, warm and mushy. The krab salad and Alvacado and cucumber all that the same bland texture as the over cooked rice...by this piont I was over this new restaurant. But wait now twenty minutes after our other food comes out they bring out the chicken udon. I would never...I repeat, never waste my time, money, or tastebuds on this restaurant again. read more

Being new to the area I have been looking for a solid "go-to" sushi spot. Having been let down by everywhere I've been thus far my visits to Samurai Sushi so far have been really great. First rolls I tried were the Hawaiian and the Psycho roll, both very different rolls and both extremely delicious. Sushi is rolled and cut very nice and everything seems to be very fresh. The Red Dragon Roll I got was extremely fresh and very delicious. Having been here several times already now and being happy with the food every time I think its safe to say this is my go-to sushi spot, for now at least. read more

Amazing sushi and amazing service, the chef Saul is super friendly and makes some of the best sushi I've ever had. I definitely will be going back. These sushi rolls are not your average skinny rolls these are good size and so fresh. Definitely best in town! Can't wait till this pandemic is over so I can go back and dine in! read more

Stay away from this place you'll know what I mean if you walk in there and get the smell that we smelled but we were hungry so we decided to stay. had three rolls and the jalapeño poppers and the yakisoba noodles and I should've listened to my instincts when I first walked in but we stayed and within five minutes of eating the sushi I was in the bathroom and then I was back in the bathroom and then when I got home I was in the bathroom again so I'm gonna give this place one star. Should've drove the extra 30 minutes and went to Gozen in Visalia where it's fresh and clean and the restaurant has it AC on. Absolutely miserable experience so I can cross this one off my list and I'm sure if you go there ...you'll cross it off your list as well. read more

Love this place! Great Sushi, reasonable prices, and amazing quick customer service. The owner, Saul and his family really work hard to make Samurai Sushi a great place for good sushi! Always recommend! read more

Excellent! Good, fresh food that was presented beautifully & quickly. Parking is not so easy but definitely worth an after dinner stroll thru the park with a shake from Superior Dairy (across the street) read more

Sushi wasn't that good, asked a waitress for an extra plate just to watch her start doing other things immediately like bussing tables and taking other orders. We waited ridiculously long for our check. Ridiculous as in sat with empty plates in front of us for 10 minutes before someone asked if we were ready for our check. Definitely do not recommend and will not be returning. read more

Food was so amazing!!! Can't say anything bad about there food. But customer service was not good at all. I build relationships with my favorite restaurants but here I felt so out of place. Very upset at there customer services. read more

Fuck this place. Their service sucks. When we first got seated they served 3 other tables before even getting our drinks. They had to take our order twice and I saw parties that came in 30 minutes after us get their food before us. Their sushi isn't even that good. They don't use real crab meat. Their prices out too high for the quality. They say it's because they are understaffed, more like a shitty management of the restaurant. Save your money and time. What a waste of space. read more

We love this place. We have never been disappointed. They really go out of the way to please customers. We aasked for a roll not on the menu and they made it. read more

My family and I LOOOOOVE this place! Great service and awesome food every time we go. So glad to have this place in town!

The food is so good! We have eaten here about 6 times since it opened and it just keeps getting better. I almost don't want to tell you because I see they are getting busier and busier and I want a table, but they are working so hard. I notice how they are really hustling and trying so hard to do their best. I really do appreciate that! Surprisingly, with almost every table full, we still got out food quickly and the quality was great. Keep up the hard work, I see it and it shows in the food! read more

Really glad to see a solid sushi spot open up. I will definitely come back whenever I visit the Central Valley. I came in a few weeks ago & someone mentioned that they have only been open for two weeks. For everyone complaining about the service, please be patient :) read more

By far the best sushi in the area. They're pretty quick, ordered three rolls and beef yakisoba and it took less then 20 minutes and the food all came out perfectly! read more

I think this place still has some growing pains to get through.. The spicy garlic edamame was great. I also ordered the dragon roll, however, my eel had so many bones in it that the eel was inedible. I had to peel the eel off and was able to eat the remainder of the roll, which was a shame. The waitresses obviously tried very hard to be helpful, but were very disorganized. We didn't have one assigned waitress, they kept forgetting what we ordered and kept trying to bring us other dishes. Hopefully things will fall into place soon as the atmosphere is charming. read more

I hate to give one star because Hanford needs more locally owned restaurants. Although, the sushi tasted very questionable and the sushi rice was mushy. I love sashimi and thought I'd order their sashimi salad. I got wilted lettuce horrible cuts of sushi and some of it tasted funny. I would not go back also their edamame was not cooked through and couldn't get the beans out. read more

Most disrespectful business in town. It's an family owned business that runs it half ass. They sushi is small and not worth the price. I went in and received unorganized customer service. They are very rude the (waitresses) and the dad of the place is awesome nice and welcoming. Servers terrible!!! Terrible!! I hope they can reevaluate their workers. read more

We came here for my birthday, ordered two baked salmon rolls and they didn't look anything like each other. My friend clearly got an unfinished meal and the people that waited us wouldn't offer to remake the meal. There excuse was that they had two different chefs. Awesome restaurant! Great sushi, teriyaki, and appetizers. Everything is amazing at Samurai sushi. Highly recommend!

Been coming here for a few years now and this place is still my favorite sushi joint. So many different sushi options and they're all delicious. Our favorite is the firecracker roll, psycho roll and crazy girl roll. So delicious! read more

Food is DELISHH! Have ordered pick up a couple of times now, & gotta say: HAPPY Customer here!! Totally recommend this SPOT!!

I really enjoyed the cucumber salad! The tobiko was poppin fresh. I really wish the Hanford people would ask for quail egg with the tobiko so that Samurai will carry it again. The Sushiya was very social and friendly. I am looking forward to going back. read more

The food is great and there's lots of variety. The costumer service was very attentive. I got my food in 10min flat almost no wait time.

Lately the new norm is takeout during all of this social distancing. However today I was able to dine in for lunch. I normally have my Crunch roll which is always great, but today I had the Tiger roll and the Spicy Garlic Edamame. My server brought out my Tiger roll first which kind of surprised me because normally you start with your appetizer first. I didn't get my Edamame until I was almost done with my tiger roll and that was a bit disappointing. My waitress was very friendly and helpful and check on me frequently though they were a bit busy. The Tiger roll was great for going out of my comfort zone and trying something new. The Edamame didn't have enough garlic and was over powered by chili and way too hot in my opinion. I love spicy food, but this was overboard. I would have preferred a stronger garlic butter taste and half of the heat. Not sure I'll be trying the Edamame again but I might and I'll just request more garlic and less heat. Overall I had a good experience and that's why I gave the 4/5. The restaurant is always clean and the staff and chefs always super friendly and professional. This is my go to Sushi spot in Hanford. If you're ever in town check them out. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. ZERO STARS FOR THE FRONT STAFF IN THIS PLACE! Went in to celebrate 6 Months of Marriage with my Husband, walked in, kindly asked for a booth(cause my husband prefers) always; the waiter asked us to wait for her to go and clean one off. Waiter comes back gives us a table after having us wait over 15 minutes, NOT A BOOTH, like we had asked, we asked why we didn't get a booth, she explained the booths were for larger parties, meanwhile every other booth had nothing but couples only ! We go sit at the table, THEN Gives the Booth we asked for to the couple that walked in RIGHT BEHIND us. LITERALLY! Walked out very disappointed, feeling disrespected, and discriminated against. This is NOT okay. These girls need serious training on customer service! I worked 5 years at a Restaurant as a waiter, and I know that this kind of service is unacceptable! read more

This is my daughter's and my new favorite sushi place. The owner and staff are SO nice. The prices are what you'd expect, but the quality is WAY better than, e.g., 'The Fifth Quarter' over in Visalia, which is also a lot more expensive. Good sushi. Sure, as is so common these days, they offer a lot of selections with 'spicy mayo'. As an 'O.G.' purist, though I've horfed down my share of 'spicy' rolls, I am not a fan of every other roll coming with spicy mayo. That is an accommodation to Americans who like to think that they like fish, but really are masking the taste of the fish with the sriracha and mayonnaise. A lot of modern sushi restaurant patrons like fish to some extent, but really like the experience of going out to sushi. Hey, who doesn't?! The owner is very knowledgeable and we had an interesting discussion about how some sushi restaurants try to pass escolar off as albacore. It's NOT, and he was well aware of that, and of that unfortunate yet common deception. They are all of the Scombridae family, but escolar, also seen on menus as 'white tuna', is a mackerel, and what's more, it's a species of snake mackerel that can give you diarrhea! It is a far, far cry from delicious albacore! They are upfront about what they serve at Samurai Sushi. Unfortunately, the limited palate of the Central Valley renders it financially unfeasible for them to stock toro (fatty belly meat of bluefin tuna), but that's just because it doesn't sell well in 'cow country', given its higher cost. The manager is very gracious and pleasant, and the server (female) was very, very nice. I might agree with one other reviewer who suggested that they could possibly use a second server. We are eager for social distancing to pass, and for restaurants to open back up. We are ordering from them for 'take-out' at this point, but we'll be back - regularly - once the social restrictions ease up. https://www.motherjones.com/environment/2009/11/green-around-gills/ read more
