They are always friendly and attentive. The food is great and it's quick. And their sushi menu is pretty large. Lots of great appetizers. I've never had a bad experience here. read more

Our food was unimpressive. We came to eat sushi rolls. We ordered the Hanford and the Kamikaze roll. Our appetizer were the jalapeño tuna poppers and fried calamari rings. The rolls were bland. The presentation of the appetizers was a mess. Our poppers were all chopped up and the rings were scattered all over the plate. The staff was polite but the servers kept putting everything at the opposite end of the table. Appetizers, drink, sushi rolls and the bill. I'll be willing to try it again next year. read more

Favorite place to eat in Hanford. The service has always been great too when we've gone.

There was only 2 nigiri sets....and they didn't come with rice. Having lived in Japan for years...I had to give a lot of leeway...but for how much people hyped this place up...it was meh read more

Service was horrible we sat for 22 minutes with the menus closed before anyone helped us. When we ordered we asked to get it to go and the girl said we can't order to go since we are sitting in a booth!! I was lost for a few seconds then said forget this place and left. Me and my family definitely won't be back and I'm gonna try my best to make sure nobody I know goes here either! read more

This place went from great to sucking out loud. I've spent a couple of thousand dollars in this place since it first opened. I'll never walk in the place again. They screw up take out orders, then want to argue with you when you call them out for their mistakes. To all my friends, don't waste your time or your money here. Take the drive to Fresno for quality sushi. This place is the worst. read more

I was hesitant to come into this place because of the places before it.....BUT we went and we are soooooo glad we did! It has been decorated nicely and very classy. Hanford has a new hot spot! It was packed! Lots of people were here and the service as still fast and accurate. Great beer, wine and saki selection. The Miso soup was the best I've ever had! There is a sushi bar you sit at and watch the sushi chefs in action on. read more

Let me preface this by asking you to check the reviews on Google. They are a 4.5 rating there and I agree with that much more than the current 3.5 rating here on Yelp. Had I saw Yelp's rating I probably never would have gave this place a shot. I'm glad I saw Google reviews first. That all said, here we go which is my review from Google: I've lived here for two years but always been skeptical to try sushi so far from the ocean. It's my favorite food. I've eaten it all over the world and at one of the top 5 sushi restaurants in Tokyo, but of course I'm not going to compare the two. Gave the place a shot today and it did not disappoint. Only tiny discrepancy was I ordered two rolls and one hand roll and ended up with three hand rolls. Really not that big a deal. Same food, different prep/presentation. The eel sauce is different but I would definitely go back. For Hanford, it's definitely four stars from me! read more

Wow! What a disappointment. I really wanted to enjoy my sushi rolls. I will not be going back $$$ + quality = read more

Love this place. Everything we have tried has been great. Highly recommended. Go there a few times a month.

My review of Samurai Sushi in Hanford CA is an honest appraisal of the restaurant with the hope that the management reads this with an open mind and addresses some of the cons. I am Japanese from LA and have 50 years of experience dining out on japanese food. My ultimate goal is to help this restaurant be successful so that I do not have to drive to Fresno for quality japanese food. What was ordered-2 Sushi platters for lunch, 2 side bowls of steamed white rice, 2 glasses of water Price with 20% tip-$45. Pros: Environment is casual and relaxed Prices are fair and affordable The sushi is very fresh The presentation is very well done Staff is very courteous and friendly Temperature is well controlled Cons: They do not offer hot green tea, a staple of any sushi and Japanese restaurant-thus the two glasses of water with the meals The white rice is not Japanese rice and is $4 for a small bowl which is not reasonable-most japanese restaurants offer white rice with sushi plates or for a couple of dollars They serve the hot rice 10 min before serving the sushi plate so it will need to be reheated via microwave... The sushi, although very fresh, is sliced thin enough to see light through resulting in small portions The staff, although very courteous and friendly, do not understand japanese dining essentials such as serving wasabi with sushi or even providing a mixing dish for soy sauce and wasabi without having to ask for it Overall experience was satisfactory but a little underwhelming Would I go there again? Yes but not for dinner just lunch and would drive to Fresno for dinner. I truly hope this restaurant considers these suggestions read more

I totally understand that prices go up, but this place is charging way to much. The food is ok, we got 2 crunch drag rolls @ 13.50/roll and 1 bento box for 18.95. Total plus tax 50.25 for 3 items which was extreme. That doesn't even feed a whole family. Probably never coming here again! I'll stick to Boba Island way better and less expensive. read more

Dropped in for lunch yesterday. This place is fire . There salmon is super fresh and very yummy. Philly roll was to my liking. Would definetly recommend, they have a great selection of cooked and battered rolls. Will definetly drop by again. Thanks for the great lunch Saul. Will be stopping by again soon. read more

Excellent sushi, good service in a great location. We had the maguro sashimi, California roll, tempura, red dragon and the salmon scallop rolls. All were made well and were the perfect size for one bite. The location is spacious with plenty of seats. read more

Love this small business in Hanford!!! I used to hate going out of town for sushi, my husband and I love this place. The servers are always very friendly and they do a great job with takeout as well. The crazy boy roll is my personal favorite! read more

Beautiful flavor, great service, the sushi and tempera vegetables are the best I've ever had.

Food was great!!! Great flavor and presentations but the service was below par. Our server was acting like we where and inconvenience to her. She gave us attitude when asking for silverware that she never brought and we had to ask another server for it. Overall we could tell she didn't want to be there. If the service improves then this place deserves 5 stars read more

Wouldn't make the roll I wanted cause they were too busy. Only had three people sitting down inside when I drove by.

You walk in and immediately get greeted with a huge hello from the sushi chef's working on their sushi orders. Waiting doesn't take long unless it's busy, had to wait 15+ mins one time & gave them my cell number and waited for the confirmation message but it never came through but they seated us pretty fast after the hiccup. If your a sushi lover make sure to get their rainbow roll! Their rainbow roll is always fresh & well prepared, always find myself craving it! Also their ramen is pretty good! Noodles are sort of basic but the broth & the pork is amazing! Always leave full but never feeling sluggish. I find myself in this establishment frequently & it's always delicious & clean! read more

Always good. Awesome owners and staff fair prices and great customer service. Food is on another level. Very good food

Disgusting sushi. I had high hopes for this place. Plus servers although nice are slow and disorganized.

So I've been here before on a Tuesday. Today I was visiting my Mom for her Birthday and we placed an order online (mind you website DOES NOT say that they are closed and this is the only place they say it) and went to go pick it up, that was when we were told that they don't do orders on Tuesdays. The guy who we asked about was rude as he basically ran to his car and told us that this over his shoulder. Because we were charged already for our order and not getting our food today we asked for a refund then. We were given what honestly felt like a BS answer with him saying that he didn't have access to the system and to come back tomorrow. Not happy at all. read more

Samurai Sushi - Wrong hours. You'll have to call to make sure someone is there to actually fulfill your order. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hanford, California

Had the crunch roll and the eel sauce was way too salty. I honestly won't be back because eel sauce is my favorite thing to add to all of my sushi and it's inedible here. The service was bad too. The place wasn't busy yet the waitresses took forever to get your order or bring the check. My husband ordered the langonisto roll which he said was really good and flavorful. We ordered the veggie tempura which was good but nothing special and we got an order of the regular edamame. The edamame was overcooked and mushy. My husband also ordered the firecracker roll which he also said was good but extremely spicy (and he loves spicy food). I ordered the kiddos the chicken teriyaki plates which came with a beautiful display of fruit and berries but you can tell they don't inspect the fruit beforehand because one of my kids had a rotten cherry in his. The chicken teriyaki was delicious. If I had to go back, that's the only thing I would order. It has tons of flavor and I loved the taste of the sesame oil they cook it in. But overall, not a good experience and I won't be back. read more

Samurai Sushi is one of my favorite local spots. I'm so glad they have been able to remain open. My favorite roll is the crunch dragon roll.

Very relaxing and clean atmosphere. I ate here on Father's Day and the sushi was excellent for the price. My sons ordered from the children's menu which is extremely generous on the portions. The bus workers were disinfecting menus and countertops the entire time I was there. The dine in area is appropriately spaced for social distancing. I will be back for sure! read more

I informed them of my shellfish allergies then was recommended tempura shrimp. Reminded them again. They recommended another roll with crab.

This place was honestly so good! All the rolls we got tasted so fresh, we have been to so many sushi places and this spot left us wanting more. They also had kid friendly options, my son is the pickiest eater and he loved it. They also included these cute fruit bowls made out of half an orange peel. My son thought it was cool, I'd give this place 10/10 read more

We've been here twice so far! The first time we eat in house and our Service was great and the food was even better! Second time we ordered online (during Quarantine). The food was ready when we got there. Got it home and had everything we needed. The one roll we modified witch was super easy to do online. Everything tasted just as great as it did when we ate there the first time! It's the best local sushi place we've found since moving here! read more
