Best sushi in Hanford! My husband and I would always drive to Fresno to get some good quality sushi but we're so thankful we found this spot! Everything tasted so fresh! We've ordered take out and we've dined in. Everything was made in a timely manner both times. And We Already have our favorite rolls. We'll definitely be regulars here! read more

This was the worst CHIRASHI I ever had. the Latino I (think) should learn the proper PRESENTATION of this Japanese dish. the way he made it was DISGUSTING. maybe he does OK with spider, salamander etc rolls. Real Japanese eat only "NIGERI OR SASHIMI" none of that Roll stuff. read more

By far the best rolls I've had. I ordered the baked langostino roll and my husband ordered the golden dragon (I think that's what it was called). We also ordered the baked mussels and garlic edamame. Everything came out quickly and the service was great. The baked langostino roll had great flavor and the golden dragon was super fresh tasting. Will definitely be back! read more

Samurai Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hanford, California

I'm not trying to be a Karen here, but I would not recommend or return. I believe I have reasonable expectations for takeout, but perhaps mine are too high for sushi. In their defense, we did order around 8pm in COVID times, but to start we were told we would be called when our rolls were ready and it would be 20-40 minutes. We were never called and arrived in about 30 min to find our fresh, raw rolls sitting on the counter, unrefridgerated and lukewarm. So maybe if the rolls are served fresh and you are not eating lukewarm sushi it has a better taste? Anyways, we had been craving sushi for months and this was a sad wakeup back into the sushi world. To be frank, this place was the equivalent of gas station sushi or maybe an all you can eat sushi bar without the quantity or the price. I saw that this restaurant has extremely high reviews, especially for the Central Valley and was sadly let down. I have had plenty of good and bad sushi and this one falls on the lower end of the scale. We ordered 3 rolls. I chose the mountain roll. To my dismay, I found the tuna on the inside to be far too similar to Bumblee tuna, in addition, it was topped with lukewarm baked salmon, which did not peak my interest. The golden dragon roll placed silver and the yaya roll was nothing to gab about. We will not be returning. read more

Not bad at all. I give this owners or renters if this location props. This poor lo action was ran to the ground with horrible restaurants. Like el penjamense or guanajutense something in that nature but ol good es it was horrible, as well as the Apatzingán, mariscos Apatzingán. The sad thing is it was a location was destroyed as far a reputation in the food industry to the prior garbage that was being served. These people risked a lot and for that I applaud them. To me this place is something special. Keep up the good work and please anyone who experienced any of the other horrible so called restaurants that were there before this one has nothing to do with lousy ones there before. Give them some business and see for yourself that it's not a bad place. read more

Love this place! Very fresh product, well prepared and great value. If you are looking for a really good sushi in Hanford, this is it. Saul and his family are giving Hanford a great destination for a night out on the town. read more

The place was alright I'm not mad at it. Its style of decor was a cute, a little amateur for my taste. I got it to go and it took forever. A younger female server was being petty and not providing us with amazing hospitality. The fried ice cream seemed through and from a person from Bay Area I was mentally hurt! The place would've been better if it shined its way through to my soul. read more

Stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. I shared a Crunch Roll, combo Tempura & Sizzling chicken entree with my hubby. We walked very satisfied and full. We will definitely be back next time we are in Hanford read more

Food is AMAZING! my boyfriend brought me here for valentines day and now im addicted!

I went in to grab some dinner with my wife and kid, trying to find a decent spot to get sushi in downtown Hanford. Since it was a new place I was going to give it a try. This building has gone through so many different types of bars and restaurants and now being a sushi restaurant there's not much that has changed as far as the inside atmosphere. There's a lot of wasted space, I think. The sushi was pretty lame. I have had better at WinCo when it was freshly made. The price and service wasn't bad but we won't be going back. read more

Pretty good for the Central Valley! I've ordered pick up once and plan to do so again in the near future. Staff are friendly with good customer service. The sushi options are pretty good! Had a pretty good first experience! read more

Came back home to visit for thanksgiving break and was hungry for sushi. I heard there was a new sushi place in town and I wanted to check it out. I consider myself a foodie and I have high expectations when it comes to sushi. I saw that they had a hot Cheetos roll and I was determined to give it a try. The roll had avocado, imitation crab, shrimp tempura, and hot Cheetos on the inside. Outside hot Cheetos crumbs, spicy mayo, siracha, and some actual hot Cheetos topped off the roll. The roll was good, crunchy, and definitely a hot Cheetos lovers dream. I was amazed by the roll and proceeded to ask the friendly chef The next two rolls wpanchito For something off the menu. He recommended the Ricardo roll. The roll was incredible. The mixture of sauces, yellowtail, unagi (eel), shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and avocado hit the spot. I didn't think this roll could be topped but they said if you liked that one try the Panchito roll. I must say WOW. I didn't think Hanford could serve a roll like that. This place is a must for anyone visiting Hanford. I have to leave after thanksgiving but I look forward to coming back during the Christmas break! read more

First time we went there, service was horrible but food was good. And we liked the decor. Second time we went, we waited ten minutes to be seated. Two other people came in after us and were attended to for pickup orders. We were not even told 'we'll be with you in a moment'... nothing. Not even hi. After making eye contact with two waitresses several times and not being acknowledged once, we just left. Would love for this business to do well in our community. But they need to seriously work on their customer service. It was pitiful. One star for the food. read more

This is by far the best sushi in Hanford. The business is cozy and very open a good set up for a larger party and also great for a date night. The sushi is always good but their garlic edamame and wings are by far some of my favorite dishes! read more

We were looking for a sushi place and wanted to try somewhere different than our usual place. I found this place on yelp. We almost did not come because of sin bad reviews the restaurant got. I am, however glad we did. We ordered three different type of rolls and the Mexican miso soup. The food was really good as was the soup. We waited maybe like 3 minutes or so to be seated and our food came quickly. The customer service was awesome! All three girls approached us for drink refills, pick up plates, and see if there was anything else we wanted. We will be coming here again. read more

There is room for growth... I ordered the combination bento box plate (in order to try a little bit of everything) with teriyaki chicken, vegetable tempura, spicy tuna roll and an order of spicy garlic edamame. I have to start with saying that I am always disappointed to have them forget wasabi and soy sauce when my order is to go! I order to go a lot because I need to be available at work and its my biggest pet peeve when quality and service is lost just cause you order to go :( the chicken was dry and the tempura was RAW, my edamame lacked salt and I can't comment on the tuna roll because I didn't eat it without my wasabi. I am still curious about their signature rolls and so i will try one of those next, this time I'll make sure to ask for wasabi, lesson learned. I believe this place will get better with time but for now its not at its potential. read more

Great food. Service was a tad slow but expected for a place that has only been open for a week. But, the waitress gave us free drinks for the wait. Their sushi didn't fall apart when I ate it which was a plus. The sesame chicken entree came with a lot of food for $11. Good pricing, good food, good service. Would recommend to try if you live in the Hanford area and want to try someplace new. read more

This was my first time there the sushi was amazing I will definitely be going back !!!

The combination plate is very affordable for the amount of food. I got the beef teriyaki with a California roll which also came with rice, a few pieces of tempura and a choice of salad or soup. I had salad and the dressing was so good. I had enough left over for a small lunch the next day. The beef was tender and super saucy which I love and the tempura was still crispy after the drive home. I'll definitely order from here again. read more

Amazing sushi rolls to choose from, excellent customer service, very clean!! Let's support this local buisness!! Everything was delicious!!! I loved sitting outside with my family to eat!! read more

I have been dying for good sushi it's one of my favorite things. I've been living in Lemoore for a year now and I finally came upon this place. Sushi was excellent I had the caliente roll and it was super delicious and I even had left overs so portion was good. I will say I had the spicy ramen as well and the broth was really bland and the shrimp tempura was basically just a pile of mush when I was served the ramen in my bowl so I had to dig it out so I won't be ordering it again. As far as service the gentleman behind the sushi bar were very enthusiastic and kind as soon as you walk in. The waitress's seem to be a little scattered so my wait time to order was a little long and my drink came out after my meal. My waitress hasn't checked on me or come by at all and it's been about 30 minutes. But I'd still come again because it is moderately busy so I'm gonna chalk it up to that and I'm also just sitting at the bar. Definitely will be back though!! Also price is a little expensive but the sushi i worth it just not the ramen at all. read more

Food tasted great I got a to go order only thing I would say is just maybe make the to go roll alittle more pretty on the plate appearance can go a long way that's all tho food was delicious thank you read more

My wife and I were extremely disappointed in the take-out service at Samurai Sushi. We were staying at the Comfort Inn in Harford for a personal matter when we decided to order take-out from Samurai. We ordered a Dragon Roll and a Ribeye Steak teriyaki to go. When we arrived to pickup the order, we indicated that we needed utensils because we were staying at a motel. The server argued with us that they didn't normally provide utensils, but handed a set to us after a moment. We had opened up the to-go boxes and noticed that the Ribeye steak was a single piece of met, and NOT cut up at all. We requested that the steak be sliced, and the server refused - "we don't do that". So we requested a plastic knife. She refused. It took over 5 minutes of back-and-forth before she went and got a plastic knife for us. BTW, when we got back to the motel, there was only 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 knife, and 1 set of chopsticks for our 2 orders. read more

We are picky sushi eaters and absolutely love this place. I want to go back and have another yellowtail collar and a crazy girl roll. Nigiri was fresh and plated with a creative twist. I could eat there every day if I could! read more

Friendly service and good sushi. We go all the time. The red dragon and the eye roll are very good.

Great sushi... nice and cool atmosphere... great service I really recommend the Crunch roll.

Pretty good sushi. A lot of krab meat but their rolls tasted fresh. Great service! Definitely will head back when I feel like sushi in Hanford. This town needs more good restaurants like this! read more

This place by far is my favorite go-to spot for fresh sushi!! The first time that I sat down at the bar, I know that I was in for a grand treat. From there secret menu, I fell in love with everything. And the second time was even better. I have there take out menu so that I make sure not to order the same thing twice and sometimes that's too hard not to do. So stop in and say hi to the owner and family because you will never leave without a full belly and smile!! read more

Great food! Servers could be faster but great food! The chef was nice and greeted us and kept making sure we were ok! I loved it, will be back for sure! read more

Miso soup was excellent, looked and tasted homemade like my moms. Reason for 4 stars not 5.... is because 1: no wasabi on plate with sushi. 2: tempura slightly cold and broccoli wasn't cooked all the was part of the batter was a bit raw. 3. If same dish is ordered tempura veggies should match each others. 4: One plate had eggplant and mushroom while the other had sweet potato. Both had brocolli and onion. Dipping sauce for tempura was great. 5: Also pricing different from menu (they fixed it right away). Overall food and service was great. Value was superb. Coming back again! read more

The service was a little slow but other wise the food is sooooo good and the prices are really good for two California rolls it was 11 dollars and at other places it was like 17 dollars for 2 Cali rolls so overall the place is amazing. read more

Went there for lunch on Sunday, June 14th at 12:15pm. There was one other guest there at the time. We ordered the pork katsu lunch plate, beef lunch plate, poke bowl, side of fried rice, side of fried shrimp, gyoza, and a side of cucumber salad. We requested the gyoza, fried rice, and cucumber salad to be served first. We weren't served until 1:00pm and it was the fried shrimp, not the items we requested to be served first. Miso soup came with two of lunches but we had to ask twice for it. Also we were served someone else's meal which was a to go order. Service is VERY slow. The waitress didn't know how the food was prepared or what was even in the entree. As a Japanese, I can say that nothing tasted like Japanese food. My pork katsu was very thin and so over cooked it was like eating jerky. The beef was just pan fried and burnt to a crisp...also like eating jerky. The only thing that was decent to eat was the gyoza (probably since it's pre-made) and the tempura. The poke bowl was full of salad and looked like the items were just thrown into a bowl. Our lunch took over an hour to receive all our items. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant! read more
