I picked up some not so common books for a $1 so made my experience very good. Friendly Staff who interacted with customers as much as the customer wanted/needed. Then I came back and was blown away by the great selection of great issues- new and old. They had a great selection of bronze and silver age comics, Keys and all, and it was a lot of fun to flip through. Some issues they even had duplicates which is nice for price/grade options. Guy at the register (prob the owner) was cool and answered any questions I had about stock and availability. The staff has always been friendly, and as someone whose 11-year-old son is getting into Pokémon cards, I really appreciate how kindly they treat him, even though he's just a kid. That doesn't go unnoticed. This store isn't just for kids, though. There are plenty of adults who come to play games and hang out, which makes for a cool community vibe. One nice feature is a computer system in the back where you can look up their card inventory. The interior isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but it serves its purpose well, and the staff makes it a good experience. I'm glad places like this exist--where people can gather, play, and just enjoy themselves. One funny thing: for the longest time, I had no idea what the store was because it's called "Amazing Discoveries," and I wasn't exactly sure what amazing discoveries were happening inside. I spent most of my teens and 20's buying records and now that she's into it I've been happy to share this hobby with her and teach her all the things I've learned over the years. Double Nickels Collective is a bit of an unorthodox records stores as it seems to be a collective of a bunch of different people selling records and such but it's all under one roof. This store is broken up into different sections and features everything records and movies to clothes and a couple of pups roaming around. Is this store clean? That debatable. Is the washroom kind of disgusting? Yes, it absolutely is, but this store is packed with all the heavy metal, country, punk, jazz, and rock you might be searching for if you are willing to do some digging. Will I be back to this store in the future? Yes, because stores like this are super fun to look through and you really never know what you will find. If you collect records and find the self in Phoenix, bring some wet wipes and give this place a look.
