Tom Kha

This place has a nice ambiance and wonderful service. The food is pretty good too. I was disappointed by the tom kha as it's the same base as tom yum but with coconut milk and that's not what it's supposed to be. The green curry is really good though. The mango sticky rice is a nice dessert.

Visiting Plano for work and I checked this place out for an early dinner. What a find! The food is quite authentic, yummy and the portions are quite generous. The service was superb - courteous, friendly and fast. The ambiance is welcoming and relaxed. I'll be back here for sure.

This appetizer was excellent!! This was my first time at this Thai restaurant, and all dishes were delicious and well prepared. I had the BBQ soup for my entree. Very good as well!

The ambiance is so awesome! Definitely thai vibes and the decor is a sight to see. We walked in and was seated immediately. Our service was super nice and refilled our water multiple times. We came around 8pm and there was still a good amount of people enjoying their dinner. We ordered a small tofu and veggie tom yum lemongrass soup and Pad See Iew w/ beef. Appetizer, we got crab and avocado eggrolls. The eggrolls were crispy and freshly fried - sauce was sweet but good! The crab was blue crab meat. All items were fresh. Giving this place 4 stars because we have had better Thai in other areas but would come back here again if we are in the area wanting Thai.

I came here for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. Our server was attentive and made great recommendations. I had the Paradise Seafood Curry and it was delicious! The crab and cream cheese roll was good but I expected more from it. The prices are pretty reasonable for the portion too. Overall, I'm happy with my experience and would return.

I enjoy going this place for lunch and dinner! Always nice vibe and fresh food always. The service is usually always excellent and very fast to get your food.. Now it depends how busy it is or not, and what dish you get as well. Otherwise it's great timing, excellent food and drinks.

Yes, a salad and soup! But ill have to admit it was good. Tom Yum soup had a rich broth that was satisfying and the salad was super fresh. Im happy. Id rather have had the curry but..watching the calories for a while. Also, trying to prove to myself you can find healthy alternatives in most restaurants. Definitely a go here!

Good Thai food, traditional tastes. I can recommend, a little high price but check out the neighborhood, I bet the rent is crazy high.

Our…read moreexperience at Oceanic Thai Kitchen was all that we hoped it would be and actually more since we only ordered items to go. The staff here are very sweet and helpful with questions about the menu and were not afraid to point out popular choices. For instance, I asked which of the dishes were best with roasted duck as the chosen protein. Our server indicated that the Basil Duck and the Duck Curry were the best and that the Duck Curry was more popular. So I chose that and my husband ordered the Thai Lo Mein with Beef and we split the Fresh Salad Rolls with added shrimp with peanut sauce. All of the items were amazing. The curry was unique and included added sweetness from pineapple and lychee. It was soooooooo good. The salad rolls were great with fresh peanut sauce. So nice with the added shrimp. My husband enjoyed the Thai Lo Mein. The decorations are tasteful and depict the Oceanic theme throughout. The restrooms and the restaurant were clean. We were very impressed and would definitely return!

The Shrimp Bang Bang had a perfect contrast of crispy exterior and tender interior, beautifully seasoned and complemented nicely by the dipping sauce. The Green Papaya Salad struck a nice balance of spice and tang--at level 4 it wasn't too hot, but still very enjoyable. My favorite was the Tom Kha, with its rich coconut flavor and pleasant sourness. For my main dish, I chose the Khao Soi, which was absolutely delicious. Unlike many Thai dishes I've tried elsewhere, this restaurant's offerings--especially the variety of seafood and meat options--have a more refined and subtle flavor. Rather than hitting you with intense heat or sourness, the dishes deliver a gentle, well-crafted taste profile. Their staff is consistently attentive and delivered our food promptly.

I particularly loved my pad Thai with chicken and tofu, it had a really great flavor! I asked for medium spice but I didn't find it spicy. Massaman curry was also really good and chock full of veggies! They also had many appetizers and drinks on Happy Hour which I believe went until 7 pm. Appetizers seemed to be $2 off, I didn't look closely at the drinks but it was basic cocktails. They did have an extensive cocktail list that looked very good! I will happily return here!

The meat-to-noodle ratio was solid, the veggies were plentiful, and the flavor was balanced and satisfying. The dining area felt clean and welcoming, and the server was attentive without hovering. Food came out quickly, which I appreciated. The crab rangoons were another highlight -- thick, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. The Pad Thai stood out, too. So many places drown it in that ketchup-y sweetness, but here the flavor was subtle, clean, and layered. Simple but still complex in a really good way.

I ordered the basil fried rice (spice level 2) and the pork fried crispy rolls. The spice level 2 gave the rice a subtle kick - noticeable but not overwhelming - which is just the way I like it. The basil fried rice was packed with egg, bamboo shoots, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, white onions, fresh basil, and garlic. The flavors were balanced, and the portion size was VERY generous - this was way more than single meal for me. The crispy pork rolls were also very good. They were filled with pork, green onions, glass noodles, carrots, white onions, and cabbage, and served with a thin sweet & sour sauce that complemented them nicely without being too heavy. Even though I ordered them as an appetizer, they arrived midway through my meal, so not the best timing. The fountain machine wasn't working, so drinks were $2.50 for a can of soda with no refills. That felt a bit steep for a canned drink. I count that as a downside of the visit. Overall, the food was flavorful and generously portioned. With small improvements on the drink situation and meal timing, it could easily be a 5-star experience.

After browsing the food pics, I knew some decisions would have to be made. We all ordered different things. I LOVED everything that I had. I ordered the chicken pad thai (spicy) and the Zaap combo set opting for the Zaap crispy wings with sticky rice. Located off the toll , Zaap is small inside so when it gets busy seems to be a more grab and go spot. I ordered online which was seamless and upon my arrival my food was ready and I was on my way. Everything looked good and was well packaged when I got home, I was genuinely excited to try. I made the perfect plate of pad thai, a couple wings, rice and papaya salad. The wing combo meal was my favorite. The wings were fresh, seasoned so well and I loved the garlic pieces/flakes on the wings, wished they added more honestly. The only critique is I wished the wings were actually crispy, they were kinda soft but I'd still get them again. Misses for me unfortunately was the chicken pad thai and papaya salad. I've never had pad thai before so I didn't really know what to expect but I didn't care for it overall. My biggest issue was the texture of the noodles and it was somewhat bland, the chili oil I got did help some but between the noodle texture, sparse chicken and it being lightly sauced, I wasn't a fan. Papaya salad again is new for me and just wasn't my thing, it was spiced to my specification but nothing about the flavor appealed to me sadly and I really wanted to enjoy it. I will say, portion sizes of everything was great, all my food was piping hot and customer service was good so I would come back for the wings and just try something else out.
