Doc Trent was able to quickly repair a pretty gnarly front tooth that had split on an old veneer broke off. He was quick, efficient, friendly, and above all professional. The front office was also great. I've had nothing but positive interactions! This may be my new dental home.

Sadly with the passing of Dr. Kanemaki (Lord rest his soul) and the selling of part of his practice, practically everyone there now is new. My 1st visit there last year was because my tooth had cracked and I needed a crown. Thankfully I got 1 out of the 2 original doctors left there treated me, but all the assistance were new. When I went back for the actual crown to be put in the assistant had a hard time getting it to fit right, it took quite a while and quite a few times for her to get it in. After that visit I felt as if my crown didn't feel right but I thought it maybe because I was feeling a little soreness from the amount of tries when putting it in and it being new. Unfortunately my crown continued to not feel right and then a little aching started, and unpleasant pain when chewing. I know I needed to go get it checked out but life got busy and I just delt with it until I couldn't take it anymore. Which brings me to present day, just about 1year after the original placing of my crown. I called and they were able to see me in 2 days. When I got there, once again everyone was new to me, and upon checking in the receptionist said she didn't see that I had an appointment. I explained to her that I had called 2 days ago and was told I could be seen on this day. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't see anything down for me and that maybe I called their other office. I said no, I called the office I'm in right now. Before she could say anything another gal there in the front office (who was on a call but I'm sure she heard everything) she jumped in and said to me "It's okay Ma'am have a seat, we will see you shortly." As I was waiting I was able to observe a few of the office staff and dental assistants doing their jobs, but not one of them looked familiar. When I got called back, there were 2 assistants clearly going back and forth as to who was going to take me (pretty awkward). But thankfully the assistant Floř that I ended up with was very very nice and friendly. I had asked her which doctor I was going to be seen by and she told me Dr. Robin. I asked if the original doctor I had seen last year was available. She said no, he was no longer there that he retired. I was a little sad to hear this news. I asked for the only 1 original doctor left which is Dr. Trent Kanemaki but he wasn't working in that office that day. Unfortunately he only works in the Buena Park office 2 days a week. So I was seen by Dr.Robin, she was very nice and thoroughly explained everything that may have been going on with my crown and what needs to be done to fix the problem. I now need a root canal, she referred me to see a specialist for evaluation & CT scan before proceeding with the root canal which is normally procedure. All in all despite the fact that I need a root canal, I feel good and am satisfied with the service & experience I received from Dr.Robin and dental assistant Floř. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the situation upon checking in. Hopefully everything works out great for my future appointments with ALL the staff there in the Buena Park office.

The office has been completely turned over--new staff, new doctor, and a completely different (and disappointing) approach to patient care. I arrived for my biannual cleaning only to find out the office had changed hands with zero notice. If you get a text asking to fill out "New Patient Information," be warned: they are treating everyone as a brand-new patient to justify unnecessary procedures. The Red Flags: Redundant X-rays: Even though I had X-rays done just last year, they insisted on taking them again immediately. Unprofessional Environment: The new doctor didn't introduce himself and was wearing a gray sweatshirt instead of scrubs or professional clinical attire. It felt very casual and unorganized. Aggressive Sales Pitch: Instead of focusing on my cleaning, I was bombarded with "treatment plans" and pressured into a consult with their in-house endodontist. It felt more like a sales pitch than a check-up. Rough Procedure: The cleaning itself was a nightmare. The doctor was not gentle--I experienced multiple painful numbing injections for a routine cleaning and significant bleeding. The suction was poorly managed, and the whole experience was worlds away from the care Dr. Sean used to provide. I felt completely blindsided. If you valued the gentle, professional care of the previous practice, you might want to look elsewhere. I will be canceling my follow-up and finding a new dentist who prioritizes patient comfort over upselling.

He also clearly explained after-care instructions (like use salt water to rinse for the first 2 days, no mouthwash unless it's the kind of mouthwash specific for preventing cavities etc.), which I really appreciated. I was anxious about the procedure since it's basically minor surgery with sutures, bone grafts and whatnot, but he and the rest of his team really put me at ease. He gave me plenty of numbing agent and I didn't really feel anything except my jaws were getting sore from keeping my mouth open lol. Overall I think it took less than 30 minutes for the first procedure. Dr Baek was really professional and kept asking if I was ok. The teeth cleaning was smooth and easy too. The dental hygienist was confident, informative and and also good at communicating. I was very pleased with her work and will schedule a follow up in 6 months. The best thing about the office was the dental assistants and hygienist did a very good job of sucking out excess saliva and liquids during each procedure. As long as I can remember, I always felt like I was choking on my spit at every dentist I've ever been to but this place does a good job of keeping me from gagging. They charge you a 3% service charge IF you use your credit card. Even though they are a preferred provider, I felt they over charge me and didn't bill delta because they want to make up for the "allowed amounts". The day I received my crowns, I was charge another $175.....Not sure why the charge is for??????? I finally received an invoice from them that I had never seen. When we sat down to go over pricing, the estimate seemed unusually high. I decided to call my dental insurance directly to verify the procedure codes and coverage. I'm glad I did, because I was told that a $70 specialist visit fee they were charging is actually covered under my plan, and one of the procedure codes they quoted at $800 should have been billed closer to $115 under my insurance. When I brought this up to the office, they adjusted the charges--but then added another procedure code for $350. That raised even more concerns about how the billing was being handled. Because my husband was in pain, we felt stuck going through with the procedure, but this experience left us very uncomfortable. I strongly recommend that anyone coming here double-check their insurance coverage and ask for a detailed breakdown of all procedure codes before agreeing to treatment. We will not be returning and plan to file a complaint.
