I had such a great experience at Los Alamitos Endodontics! I went in for a root canal retreatment and was honestly very nervous. I am a BIG baby when it comes to dental work, but I can truly say I felt absolutely nothing during the procedure. Dr. Livingood was incredibly patient, gentle, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire treatment. Mayda was just as wonderful--so kind, attentive, and reassuring. They both made what I expected to be a stressful experience surprisingly easy and comfortable. If you are nervous or anxious about having a root canal (or one redone), I highly recommend Dr. Livingood and his team. I never thought I would describe a root canal retreatment as a great experience, but it truly was. Thank you Dr. Livingood and Mayda for taking such great care of me! read more

Los Alamitos Endodontics is just great!! I had to do a root canal procedure in an upper back tooth. And I have vertigo too. Jenra and Dr. Miller did everything they could to make my experience as easy as possible as they worked in awkward positions just to keep me elevated. Wish I could give 10 stars!!! Chris. read more

I was in a desperate situation with a cracked tooth and severe pain, and had to wait over a week to see my regular Endodontist. A friend referred me to Los Alamitos Endodontics, and they got me in right away. Dr. Millar and his assistant Makayla introduced me to my first root canal, and it couldn't have gone smoother. They did a fantastic job! A shout out also to all the other staff. It is a very welcoming place, and their skills are second to none. Needless to say, Los Alamitos will now be my regular Endodontics. read more

I had two emergency root canals done in one day, and both Makayla and Dr. Milliar were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process. Their attention to detail really stood out -- they made sure I was comfortable at all times and explained each step along the way so I knew exactly what to expect. They eased my anxiety and helped keep me calm during what is normally a very unpleasant procedure. I was in and out within two hours for both root canals, which was impressive. I highly recommend them. read more

McKayla and Dr. Millar were great. I couldn't ask for a better experience with my root canal.

12/11/24 Did she say root canal!? YIKES! Referred to Los Alamitos by Dr. Kim, seeing Dr. Livingood. All the dental offices I have visited pretty much look dated but the equipment appears top of the line, the same is true for this office. Kate at the front desk warmly & pleasantly greeted me, knew I was sent by Dr. Kim. Her smile & professionalism made the world of a difference to my experience here. I felt more at ease knowing this is my first encounter with the staff. Kate assisted me patiently in completing my new patient forms. Janet was next, she kindly explained the procedures & took my health information thoroughly. Everything was seamless. CT (computer tomography & x-rays were taken in no time at all. Dr. Livingood was prompt, professional & he examined my tooth. He was patient ' also explained what the plan is with recommendations. Although the news was not what I had anticipated, he further explained options. I appreciated his expertise & honesty. I can be rest assured that I am receiving care that is both confident & trustworthy. Kate provided a copy of my imaging in the event that I would need to have my future dental needs performed elsewhere. I highly recommend this practice. Plus, it's in network! read more

I have avoided having a tooth fistula taken care of for a couple of years because it didn't bother me. My dentist shared with me that it might flare up on a Friday night and I would spend the weekend in severe pain. I went to Dr Polk this afternoon and what I thought would be unpleasant was really an enjoyable experience. The doctor all his staff and office personnel were GREAT! Whoda thunk a root canal would've not been a bad thing. Thanx to all!! read more

I had such a great experience at this dental office and felt compelled to share. I saw Dr. Polk, along with Helen and Jasmine assisting, and they were all absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. Dental visits can be stressful, but their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail completely put me at ease. I have an update.... There was some leftover nerve tissue that wasn't seen the first time (I asked and this happens 10% of the time - lucky me was in the 10%) ha! I just had my root canal redo. My nerves were better this time as I knew what to expect but I still wasn't looking forward to it. Dental work is the worst! Dr. Polk is kind, has a calm demeanor and was good at letting me know what was happening. The staff is also very friendly. I'm glad that is behind me now. I recommend coming here if you need a root canal. read more

As much as I hate getting root canals done (I've had 3 in about 2 yrs), I appreciate the attention both Dr. Livingood & his assistant Janet give. They're always making sure you're comfortable, not experiencing any pain & explain everything that's going to happen in detail. I would definitely recommend Dr. Livingood to anyone. read more

This place is a total rip off. They charge almost $200 for a consultation (that only lasted 5-8 minutes with the actual Doctor) and almost $300 for a CT Scan (which is standard for this office- something you cannot elect not to do) and knowing insurance does not cover. The office is run down as it looks like it is stuck in the 90s incl the machines and the decor. Parking is limited and I just felt like this place does not care for the patient especially when they are walking in for urgent care and consultation. Staff were ok and decent, but the pricing of this place was totally off the charts for the service they provided. The CT scan wasn't even used and they took two regular X-Rays which is what they used and can bill the insurance company for. Lastly, I didn't even get an itemized receipt! I would not recommend coming here. Do your research first and call around rather than going off their yelp review which seems a bit off - no estab. can have all 5 stars.. read more

Dr. John Millar is one of the kindest physicians I've met--thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely compassionate. My younger daughter had to go in for a root canal evaluation. The process from beginning to end was quite the experience. From the staff who helped me when I first had to call and set the appointment, to when we walked inside the office...it was such a warm and welcoming environment! This is super important and something a future client looks for when handling of a scary dental procedure. A huge shoutout to Dr Millar & Makayla for your kindness, professionalism, and just keeping my daughter calm and comfortable throughout the entire process. Seriously, I am very impressed. This office was amazing! They were super sweet and helpful from the very first phone call. I was referred here by my dentist to assess an old root canal I had done many years ago. I am like many people (hate the dentist but have to go) From the first interaction I had with the Drs assistant ( McKayla) I knew it was going to be a good experience. She was super kind and caring. Very attentive and warm. Being a medical professional myself I don't like being the patient but Dr. Millar had thee best bedside manner. He was thorough, kind, and explained the procedure in detail. I was nervous but it needed to be done. Jenra was amazing! She came out and held my hand as the dr started to numb me up. They also got me warm blankets and made sure I was comfortable prior to starting the procedure. I had zero discomfort or pain! It was super easy and way better than I expected. Jenra called me the next day to check on me to see how I was doing. It made me feel like they actually care about their patients and I would highly recommend them! 10/10. Best care here! read more

A root canal is usually not something that we look forward to, but Dr. Livingood made the experience as comfortable as possible. Frequent, the injection of local anesthetics could be the most painful aspect of the entire procedure, but Dr. Livingood expertly administered the anesthetics with minimal discomfort. He was also efficient but meticulous, and I had very little discomfort after the procedure when the effect of the anesthetics wore off. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. The office was a bit dated but everything was clean. read more

Janet was also wonderful and checking up on her, and making her very comfortable. My daughter and I highly recommend coming here. read more

I just had a root canal done with Dr Millar and his assistant, Mikayla. I have to admit I was very anxious about it, because it was my very first root canal. Of course, no dental procedure is fun, but they try to make it as comfortable as possible. I was in and out in 1 1/2 hours. I highly recommend this office. They deserve their 5.0 rating. read more

The entire staff knew exactly what they were doing, which made the whole experience as smooth as possible. Not to be trusted! This office did a root canal on a questionably cracked tooth and stated that if it needed to be extracted in time there would be a partial refund. Well, after trying to preserve the tooth as long as possible, the tooth was eventually extracted, but the office REFUSED to provide the refund. At the time of the root canal, no time limit was ever stated that the extraction needed to take place in order to get the refund. So, my fault trusting these people. read more
