    Tomato basil soup with tortellini
    Donna P.

This is quite a popular place. When we arrived at 5 on a Saturday night, we thought there'd be a wait because there were already so many cars in the parking lot. I actually called from the car but there was no wait. But they were busy so I found service just a tad slow. Our waitress was Sierra I think and she was pretty good except for taking so long to come and pick up our payment. The food was good and decent portions. I only took a picture of the soup that came with my dinner.

I wouldn't use seafood or steakhouse in the name. I ordered the broiled seafood platter and was not impressed take a look at my photo and you will understand why! I ordered the seafood chowder. Chowder shouldn't even be in the name. It had a chicken soup/broth consistency. Imitation crab was the only seafood I encountered in my bowl. My guests ordered steak and a special of stuffed peppers. The steak was over cooked and dry. The stuffed pepper dish good, but appeared to be a reheat from the previous day(s).

Gross the sink was covers in slimy water and grossness.

When we first went in the sign said please wait to be seated. Then the hostess said sit where you want? Then seated us... at 6:56 we waited about 20 minutes then had to get the hostess attention to ask if we're getting a server soon... that was at 7:15.... the hostess brought us water at 7:17 and told us someone was coming right over. 7:19 we placed our full order. Finished at 7:23. We ordered two appetizers and two peroni beers. we got the mozzarella fried as an appetizer and a crabcake appetizer, that came with two crabcakes that came at 7:29 then appetizers. The crabcake was mushy and lacked Lump crab which was in the name (lump crab cake). It had So much breading in it,and you could tell that it wasn't fresh. There was no crab in it that we could tell...if there was, it was very processed. The taste was OK but it definitely was not a good crabcake. Especially when we come from Maryland, there is no lump crab!!!!, however the vegetable mix they had it on was like carrots and cucumbers on Romain with a sauce and some dill was very delicious. The mozzarella cheese was really good but the breading was very lacking in flavor, what saved it was the red sauce, it was spot on delicious!!!! Another plus was the beer was really good and was not skunk. 7:55 we received our salad. I personally am a huge lover of salad, and the salad was as boring as cardboard! A very boring salad. I realize that it was a side that came with our meal, however, it could've had a little of excitement in there, especially when the vegetables served with the crabcake, which is an appetizer mind you, was so delicious. I expected better... I had gotten a balsamic vinaigrette,It was just OK. The server also brought us some bread rolls, they were good, but The butter to put on the rolls was cold so of course it's hard to spread cold butter. It would have been great if they served warm butter. Our dinner arrived at 8:06 PM we both ordered a Delmonico steak. Mine was medium rare, and Chuck asked for medium. For our Side item we got a loaded baked potato. I asked for a side of broccoli as well, and after we asked for another beer. The steak was cooked perfectly, and really delicious! We asked for another beer each, at 8:09. He only brought one beer. We asked for two. The steak was delicious! But the knife was not great for cutting... The broccoli was perfect al dente and still had a crisp to it but it. The loaded baked potato very delicious perfectly cooked. Nothing wrong with it. I've absolutely no complaints with our main entrée and we got a wine glaze to go with our steak. It was kind of like a beef gravy. It was very tasty, but not what I was expecting, but went well with the potato as well and the bread rolls were also delicious. My main complaint was that the butter was cold, and it was hard to spread on the bun and the broccoli, overall I'm really happy with the food. 8:24 brought out second beer. 8:34 asked for dessert menu and he brought it out at 8:36. Then T 8:44 took desert order, and 8:50 brought out our order, then ordered our last beer. Brought it out at 8:55. The Crème brûlée was just OK. I've definitely had better. Then at 9:08 checked on us and we asked for the bill at 9:10. When the bill came we both said the same thing as we looked at it, and said it was the best 200$ (after tip) we've ever spent on a meal!! 9:20 collected bill. Now for the most disappointing part of this trip, which I'm really sad to say since with a few exceptions, and how long sometimes it took to get ... everything else seem to be so good and positive. On our way out we stopped into the bathroom, and I've got to tell you it was very filthy and didn't look like anyone had paid any attention to what was going on in there. I think maybe if we had looked in the bathrooms first, we likely wouldn't have eaten there. Simply makes me question the cleanliness of the restaurant?? if they can't even make sure that the bathrooms are clean! I can only speak for the women's room, the restroom for the men I don't know. Chuck didn't really say whether it was good or bad, so I'm assuming it was fine, but he doesn't pay attention that kind of stuff. Please see all the photos that we have uploaded Check it out for yourself. I would love to see. What other peoples experiences are.... Buon Apititio!!

cute little place for a small town. Known as one of the "nicer restaurants" went for a quick lunch and it was quick! my lunch came out in like 3 minutes. I tried the Seafood Bisque and a caesar salad. The seafood bisque was very very good. chunks of seafood in it and it was creamy and delightful. The salad was no good. lettuce was browning. for some reason there was an egg on the caesar salad? dressing wasn't very tasty. I would probably come back to try something else since it was so speedy for a quick lunch break.

My daughter's crab legs. (That's a crack-up of a sentence that I hope she sees)

My daughter wanted to go out to dinner and her favorite restaurant in the area wasn't home so we went here instead. We're both foodies and she's eaten here quite a bit and told me not to expect great. I didn't. It wasn't. We both ordered seafood but nothing was seasoned. I find this a lot in restaurants in the area. Almost as if they're cooking without salt and having you season it yourself. It's a huge disappointment even when you have nice portions sizes (which they do here). Our server was okay but seemed to forget about us even though it wasn't busy. (She only checked back once to see if we wanted another drink before we had finished ours but not again so we even ordered a dessert to go due to the wait.) The wait was one of the major downfalls because the restaurant wasn't busy. Also, the cost; it was only myself, my daughter, and my granddaughter but the bill was a whopping $150.00 and that was for two adult meals, one child's meal, two mixed drinks, one Shirley Temple, and a dessert. If I'm going to drop $150, I want the food to come out before 45 minutes to an hour, I'd like it to be seasoned, and I'd like to have something to wash it down with or at least someone checking to be sure we don't need anything else so can't see my foodie frugal self returning anytime soon.

    Seafood Brodetto

Huge Romanas fan and this place is owned by the same family. Wanted to get something fancier today so we went with Sams. We used door dash so you can add another $25. Onto the already high bill to add insult to injury. But here's the skinny..... seafood brodetto was a huge portion. It weighed a ton pulling it out of the bag. That is exciting because I love leftovers. When opening it I was splashed with liquid, so much liquid. I poured out over a full cup of orange liquid. It wasn't appealing to the eye. I attached a picture of it gently slid onto a bowl plate as the tin it came in was a mess. The smell was immediately alarming. It was off putting. Loaded with calamari and I think the sauce had chopped clams in it but there was far too much of it. The two shrimp both had some shell left on them that gave me that instant gag reflex' much like getting an eggshell would do. There was a generous portion of Scallops but upon first bite it was apparent where the smell was coming from. The scallops were bad. They had that bad ammonia taste and smell that bad seafood gets. I ordered it spicy and it was ok on the spice level but the final straw deeming the entire dish inedible was the salt content. I am someone who always tends to go heavy on the added salt and this was even too much for me. $24 straight to the trash bc the dog literally wouldn't touch it. Next, we ordered wings , which everyone says are so crispy and delicious there but were very gelatinous and not just from travel. They weren't fried long enough. We ordered them hot and they weren't even mild. We got a delmonico with homemade steak fries and we LOVE romanas steak fries on the rare occasion they have them on the specials. These were nothing like Romanas steak fries. They were uniformly dark brown looked, smelled and tasted Burnt but not in a good crispy way. Delmonico was ordered medium well (which trust me , is just an awful way To order steak and I pre-warned her that the result would end up "well" ) and it turned up obviously well with absolutely no pink. I feel really bad having to leave this review but I expect better from the priciest restaurant in town.

I'm more attracted to non-fried food so the Grilled Haddock was right up my alley. This time I had that with the side order of baked beans and macaroni salad. Again I was not disappointed. My wife gave me the thumbs up on her food also. So I guess I did good. I read the review about the cleanliness. Let me say this, this place is clean. I'm sure they have food inspectors that come in and if it was not able to pass, it would not be open. On the other review which they gave one star, I don't know when this individual called in an order but must understand that you only have a certain amount of people working, trying to please their customers so you have to give them a break. Obviously they don't want to lose customers. If it is a certain time when people are calling in phone orders and coming inside for take out, things happen. Nobody is perfect unless you walk on water. I have been telling a lot of people about this place. Thank God I'm retired and can go there anytime I want. Now I don't have to make seafood at home anymore. The only thing I'll continue making at home is the baked Salmon. Going two days in a row, I guess I'm trying to make up lost time since he has opened up. I'm good with that for sure!

We arrived at opening on a Thursday evening and had the place to ourselves. The table we were sat at overlooking the gardens was gorgeous. The service was a little awkward as the server was training someone who was new, but they were very friendly and accommodating. We started with some bourbon cocktails that were just alright. I would say, they don't have the best cocktails. I ordered a gin dirty martini with stuffed olives and I think they just gave me straight gin in a glass with olives. Maybe stick to wine or beer! We were greeted with some nice fresh bread and we then ordered the very popular candied bacon. It was very thick, sweet and savory. Worth trying for sure, I enjoyed it. For dinner we opted for the 3 pound cowboy to share. I had asked what came with the steaks and they said smashed potatoes and green beans, and hyped up the smashed. When served, we got French fries, so this was just a miscommunication because I guess the special came with fries. I asked for a side of potatoes as well cause at this point I wanted to try them. The steak was gorgeous and perfectly cooked, and massive. We shared and had plenty of leftovers. Overall, I would suggest checking this place out. A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores.

We had 6pm reservations for a party of four, arrived about ten minutes early and were seated immediately. The other couple in our party had previously been here and were curious if what they ordered then would be on the menu again. Apparently, the menu is updated weekly. Starting out with cocktails, I know everyone was happy with what they were served. I certainly enjoyed my pint of Coffee Stout, and my wife was pleased with the lavender non-alcoholic cocktail they concocted for her. Because the servings being delivered to other tables appeared to be quite large, we decided to pass on appetizers, in spite of some of the apps sounding rather unique, e.g., Crispy Deviled Eggs, Open Faced Fried Pork Wantons, and Fried Carbonara. My wife was tossed between a Beet Salad with Scallops and the Pistachio Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass. At our server's recommendation she chose the Sea Bass. It was served with corn puree, confit potatoes (which my wife especially enjoyed), and roasted tomatoes. I'll get to enjoy the leftovers. I was trying to make up my mind between the Duck Pot Pie and the Chestnut Mushroom & Boursin Stuffed Tomahawk Pork Chop when our sever alerted us that there were only two servings left of the Pork Chop. I promptly claimed one of them! I am so glad I did. It was an amazingly delicious and well prepared dish. The pork had a slight pinkish color, just as I like it, the meat was so tender and flavorful, the stuffing had a crisped surface from the oven or salamander, everything was wrapped in tasty pancetta, the smashed potatoes were creamy and delicious, a white wine truffle sauce added another level of flavor, and even the carrot spears had the right level of firmness. I can affirm that my leftovers were equally enjoyable. We were not as lucky in having advance notice of the limited availability of a limoncello pie dessert, so my wife and I shared a slice of Banana Cookie Dough Pie. OMG! That was sooooo delicious. It was light, creamy, and not overly sweet. A real treat with the good coffee they serve. That pie along with something from their Lighter Menu, like a burger, would send you home in ecstasy without putting much of a dent in your wallet. Our bill for the party of four having one round of drinks, entrees, and desserts was about $250. Taking the whole dining experience into account, it was a very fair value. But wait! I have more to share with you. On Saturday nights live entertainment is provided by an excellent keyboard player adding to the inviting dinner experience and atmosphere. I'm out of superlatives for Hooked, but since it had been a while since we had been, I thought it…read morewise to update my review. This is a haute cuisine place that is masked by the casual dining atmosphere. Seriously: top notch chef, original recipes, a core dedication to quality seafood, paired with a fresh fish counter and some prepared food to go. We usually go for something special, but tonight I decided to get an old childhood standby, fried clams (the Boston Basket) and the fish burger sandwich. I did not expect either to be as transportive as they turned out to be. The fried clams were as delicately done as I've ever had: not crispy, but not too floppy, with excellent breading. And while I prefer my clams naked, we tried all three of the dipping sauces -- a remoulade, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. Now normally I loathe cocktail sauce and can take tartar sauce or leave it, so I figured we'd eat up the remoulade and ignore the other two. Still, I gave them little nibbles. Man! The cocktail sauce was like no other I've had, with a heavy hint of horseradish and a far fresher flavor than I've ever had. Then the tartar sauce -- genius! It had a delicate spicing, with capers providing a floral backdrop. That was only a preliminary, as the fish burger proved to be complex, with hints of multiple kinds of fish, and a fennel-based spicing. I ended up having that afterglow, as if I'd had a couple of cocktails and was sitting next to a fireplace, that is the hallmark of truly fine food at an advanced level. We also had the usual outstanding service, attentive without being pushy. I seriously think Hooked should consider splitting into two restaurants: one where the ambiance is upgraded to match the high caliber of the food, and another cheaper one that is strictly fast casual and takeout, and they'd more than double the business. There is a restaurant back where we come from in California, Turtle Bay, that did this with fine dining on one side and the quick, simple, and affordable food on the other side, with a big shared kitchen between them but with completely separate ambiances. That way I could come back more frequently, and still have the original Hooked for special occasions!

I finally decided to give Hooked a try after hearing many great things about their lobster roll…read more With that said, I'm glad I did because the food was delicious. To explain, I ordered the cold lobster roll with fries and it was great. First off, the lobster was tender, incredibly fresh, and they loaded the roll with it. Likewise, the roll was perfect. It was airy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My only issue with the lobster roll was that it needed more mayonnaise. In the same manner, the fries were phenomenal. To make plain, the fries were scorching hot and seasoned to perfection. Also, they had a crispy exterior with a fluffy interior. These were simply great fries. Essentially, Hooked offers great lobster rolls and fries.

We came in late on a Sunday after realizing that all the restaurants near us were closed (despite…read moremarketing themselves as open - I digress). The restaurant was PACKED. The bar was full, and the food was looking and smelling delicious. We were seated fairly quickly, despite the mayhem. We were given warm bread and butter to start, but we also shared garlic scallion clams. The clams were warm, buttery, and super garlicky. And the bread was great to dip into the extra sauce! I ordered the French onion soup, which was packed with cheese and had a great broth. My Husband got soup with his entree, and he got the soup of the day which happened to be corn chowder. The chowder was super thick and had lots of veggies. He said it was delicious. My Husband got the Delmonico steak as his entree, which came with a twice baked potato and veggies. The steak was cooked perfectly and was smothered with mushrooms and onions. I had entree envy. I got the open faced roast beef with fries. My roast beef was thinly sliced and piled up on top of a toast slice. My fries and beef were drowned in gravy - just the way I like it. Overall, we had a great dinner. Our server was nice and extremely attentive even though she was running around to everyone! This was great restaurant, and if I were local I would be a regular.
