The Reuben Report My first venture West of the Mississippi for a Reuben tasting. Sam's No. 3 is a colorful Denver location and an interesting cross between classic East Coast Greek diner and Sports Bar. The super long menu ranges from extensive breakfast choices (pages!) to burgers and sandwiches, tacos and burritos and steaks, chops and fish. Don't skip the Mexi-Rado Grub menu page's Pork Barbacoa Tacos -- which were enough food to split and a very tasty item. My second visit brought me to my main event: the Reuben. Served on marble rye grilled with the sandwich, the corned beef was thick and the Swiss resided on both sides of the sandwich. Sauerkraut was extremely light and didn't lend to the taste at all. That was a disappointment. The meat was thicker sliced but not the thickest. The stack was generous. The quality was so-so as during my visit it was a bit fatty, making for a chewy experience. The Thousand Island dressing was lightly applied and didn't account for much. Overall, this sandwich was a bit disappointing. Not terrible mind you, just that there was room for improvement. The pickle could have strolled right out of Manhattan. It was great. The side substitute of tomato, feta and cucumber was tasty and a nice finish. My cocktail was a rye old fashioned made to perfection by Elise. I had a second since walking from here. A solid 3.5 sandwich. Ambience 4.0 Service 4.5. An overall 4.0 experience - saved by the tacos. I would return --if only to try out the breakfast menu. The Reuben Report. We never met a Reuben we didn't like ......almost. read more

Good ole' Sam's. A classic you can count on in the metro area. While there are only two locations left, this was my first time at the one in Glendale. Really liked the layout of this restaurant compared to others and really liked that they value their customers' experience. Food is always good and reliable, which I find extremely important these days. I ordered a swiss and mushroom omelette, which as you can see if enough for three additional meals. I also had to go to my standby of biscuits and gravy - which absolutely hit the spot. Our server was very friendly and checked on us frequently even with a very large section filled with customers. Our food came out fast, correct, and most importantly, delicious. Will absolutely return to Sam's! It's just so good. read more

Whoa!!!! I haven't even digested my food but knew I had to get on here and RAVE about this place!!! I had The Mexican Breakfast. It was superb! I didn't have the tortillas as they seemed store bought (at no point did I have any expectations of them being homemade) It's ok, there was so much food it wasn't even an after thought. I am so happy we ventured out while in Denver. I usually go to the same place but glad I took a chance on a new find.. This was a GEM and I WILL BE BACK!!! Deeej was our lovely sweetheart server. All around amazing! Thank you!! read more

My hub and and shared the steak burrito. It's huge, as the menu promises. It's covered in cheese, comes with their green chili on top, sautéed onions and peppers inside. They didn't skimp on the juicy steak or on the cheese. It's topped with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce. We also ordered a side of tots. The side of tots could easily feed a family of 4. They are crispy and seasoned awesomely. Loved the decor and fun music. read more

Great food & service. Large portions! Wait times can be long. Very busy on weekends!!

Still a win! Today I just opted for a couple sides rather than a full entree, but I did try a new mimosa flavor, the anti oxidant! The name is silly haha because who thinks of a cocktail as antioxidant? There were blueberries at the bottom of the glass, so I guess that's why it's named that. But anyway, it is fantastic and my new favorite. My friend ordered the patty melt, and it was excellent; sorry for the wonky, not-properly-centered picture of it! Our server was a little flat with her facial expressions and responses at first, but I truly believe our goofy senses of humor won her over. Win win!! A weekday breakfast/brunch usually gets you a table, as it's never too loud or crowded, but it is almost always somewhat busy here. That's a testimony to their fun and expansive menu, and consistent service and timing of ordering. I will continue to recommend Sam's #3. read more

Sam's No. 3 is where we go when we want delicious food, and a great place to catch up with family, friends and business partners. I'm stuck on their Greek Skillet, with scrambled eggs, home fries, and a pita! I'll get a tasty Irish Coffee too when I can! My people all have their favorite menu items, but we all love going here and HIGHLY recommend to anyone, to do the same! read more

Eating at Sam's feels like a rite of passage. I've been a few times, and the food is great with friendly, attentive servers. I especially like coming here for a late breakfast. The menu is huge, with plenty of options, so there's always something that sounds good. My regular order is the corned beef hash from scratch with a side of green chili. read more

Love the food here! The food is always on point and tastes delicious. 10/10 for food. The reason this review has 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the inconsistent service. The blonde server who's been there for years is great! The girl behind the bar that's there on weekdays is also great!! The last couple times we've been there, not great.... We had a couple male servers the last 2 times and both times the service was not good, it was actually pretty bad. I know people have off days, but twice in a row now and I almost want to just get the food to go with the last two negative experiences from our servers. Would love to give this place the extra 2 stars they deserve once the service improves. Food: 10/10 Service 5/10 read more

Busy sports bar environment with a very large selection of food/drink. We drive all the way from north Arvada to enjoy the fantastic food and cocktails. I highly recommend either of Sam's locations.

So this establishment is getting a low star rating based on our experience. First of all we were down south and wanted to go to the Aurora location but to our disappointment we learned that one has been closed permanently. So we googled our next choice and this one was closest to where we were. Located in Glendale close to Cherry creek and I think Quebec but basically in the heart of Glendale. Nice restaurant, very busy. We had about a 30 minute wait but it wasn't terrible plenty of tv's and some good music playing overhead. When we sat down we were greeted and our drink order was taken by the bartender. We eventually were greeted by our server and we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted for our lunch. My wife opted for the chili cheese burger and I for the Mexican hamburger. My wife enjoyed her meal and I not so much . I had to ask for extra green chili as half of my Mexican hamburger was exposed and not truly smothered as it should be. And it was funny because we smelt something burning and my wife joked that it probably my hamburger and low and behold when I cut into my hamburger it tasted burnt and the outside was charred. And we were not at Burger King, lol. The green chili seemed to not have any seasoning or kick and tasted like it was out of a can Ala Stokes green chili. Which isn't terrible if your not of Hispanic culture or in college or don't know what green chili is supposed to taste like but I do and expected more from Sams as this isn't the first time we've dined at thier locations and its always been favorable. And as far as our service, it was subpar and terrible. Our waitress was pretty much non existent other than taking our orders. The bartender was more present than she was and even than I had to walk up to the bar and ask him for his help to order a shake and a to-go box. Even when we were ready to pay we had to go to the host stand and ask for our check to pay our bill and explain what we had in order for the host to find our check. So all in all it was a fair experience but we will probably go to the location downtown next time even though parking is at a premium im always looking for a reason to spend a little time in Denver. So would I recommend? Maybe ,maybe not. I just wouldn't order the Mexican hamburger again. So that is my opinion and if you go I wish you a better experience than we had. read more

Went into this Sam's No 3 location last week while in the area. We used to eat at the Aurora location many years ago so wanted to give this one a try. The place is cute, looked very similar to the old closed down location! Very spacious and clean. We were greeted pretty quickly and sat down in a nice quiet area. Our server was super nice and friendly. Hubby got a Benedict and home fries. The home fries aren't really home fries they're more like hash-browns. The Benedict came with the ham lunch meat style which he doesn't love. But the sauce was fine and the egg cooked right. I did the two stack pancakes with chocolate chips and side of bacon. Bacon was good as well as the pancakes but beware they are huge. I could only eat like half haha! My son had ordered the same pancakes no chocolate chips tho, but for some reason it came out with blueberries and like a cream on top that reminded me of cinnamon roll frosting. He didn't wanna send it back so he ate it but doesn't like blueberries so he didn't each much. It was okay overall, little pricey but not bad. Maybe we will try again if in the area! read more

Unfortunately, Sam's #3 thinks they can talk down to their customers, ignore them, and somehow that is acceptable. Rude idiots at the front of the restaurant taking people's names, an english speaking person who decided to all of a sudden speak Spanish to another front desk lady who is english speaking, in order to talk down to a customer in another language assuming that no one else can speak Spanish and then return to speaking english to scold the customer, and shame the customer. Then we were ignored for awhile. The place was not fully sold out, meaning it was not standing room only, there were tables, yet Sam's #3 in Glendale believes they are beyond being shut down for terrible service no matter what is going on with the food. This is what we see now in "hospitality", that these idiots believe they are not capable of being shut down with rude service. Well, if they are not coming in the door then the food matters not, nor does the servers, and nasty little hispanic dude who thinks he can talk down to the people that pay their wages and to keep the lights on at this establishment. It's too bad they closed the Havana store, they knew me by name there, and I was always treated with respect and dignity. Good luck, Sam's #3, Glendale, there is huge change in the air, I hope you are capable of taking the temperature of what is happening in the restaurant world and recognize you are not immune to this change. read more

I have been going to Sams for well over a decade now and I will say their food quality has never waivered. No matter what I get on the menu I am never disappointed. Their service goes along with that as well. We get take out often at my work but even when we dine in the restaurant, the staff is always super friendly, quick and everyone seems to like their job. That makes for such a great atmosphere. This last time I got the BLAT with a side of mashed potatoes, which i have to say was a rather large 'side'. Dearest of Yelp folks, whatever you do don't make the mistake I made at Sam's No. 3 in Glendale-a place I usually love: Don't order the chili rellenos unless you want to down a pound or two of mediocre American cheese balled up in a tortilla or two, and not having all that much taste. In looking back at my poor ordering decision, at least I can say I tried to redeem myself by accompanying my error with a Bloody Mary, but frankly that was kinda meh too.
