Best hidden secret in Lacey! A must for excellent Cocktails and great Appetizers between grocery shopping at Wincos and Costco.

Came here a couple of times while in town visiting family. Their sushi rolls were good and beer is cold. Staff is friendly.

Tonight, we did an impromptu pop-in as my husband's physician ordered to increase fish and seafood to 3 times per week. Looks like we'll be enjoying more Nori then, YAY!! I just wish we lived a little closer. Tonight, we ordered Crunch California, Picante, Big Mike, and Black Widow sushi rolls, along with Gyoza and Crispy Crab Rangoons to share family style. Ooh my tummy is rumbling just thinking about all of the yummy goodness soon to come! We are meeting up with our brother and sister to share. I highly recommend Nori for a casual lunch or dinner date, or double or triple date. We love their sushi, their entrees, noodles and rice dishes, and their soups. Who am I kidding? Every menu item we have partaken in, has been delightfully enjoyable! Give them a try just once, and I can bet confidently, you will be coming back time and time again.

My husband and I stopped by around 11:15 AM, right after they opened, since we were shopping for…read moreshoes next door at DSW and got hungry. I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur (my husband just calls me "bougie" lol), so I figured we'd give this place a try since it was convenient and a sushi place for me to try. When we walked in, it was completely empty and there was a sign up at the entrance mentioning they were hiring servers. The restaurant seemed spacious but maybe it felt that way because all the tables were unoccupied. It took a few seconds before someone came out, but the girl who helped us ended up being the only saving grace of the entire experience. She was super sweet, told us we could sit anywhere, brought menus right away, and was on top of everything: drinks, appetizer, sushi, clearing plates. She was honestly the only person we interacted with the whole time. I did end up going to the register to pay after our meal, since she got busy once more people came in, but she handled everything she could really well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. It was simply mediocre. The shrimp tempura tasted undercooked (I could still taste the batter smh). My husband got the Red Dragon roll and I got the Big Mike. He asked for no cucumber and they were accommodating. Regarding portion sizes, they're generous, and I can see how that might appeal to the general palate. I like that the rolls were cut nicely too, where the rolls were a little thinner than your standard piece, so they were easy to eat. The torched salmon and eel were probably the best parts of what I ordered. But overall, the quality felt pretty average. The rice was lacking flavor and kind of just tasted like plain filler. Our total came out to about $57 before tip, and honestly, it didn't feel worth it. Most rolls averaged $19, but they tasted more like something you'd expect at a cheaper spot. I've had similar sushi before that I'd consider more of a budget option (not amazing, but decent for the price). This sushi was passable but tasted more like $15 for a roll.. Just subpar for my standards. I think what made it more disappointing is that when I go out for sushi, I am expecting something better than what I could make at home (and yes, I have made sushi before with sashimi-grade fish, sushi rice, etc.). It is convenient to have someone cook for you, and good sushi is supposed to feel like an extraordinary experience. That's why I dine out at sushi restaurants but this just didn't hit the spot. Overall, amazing service, but the food was pretty underwhelming for the price.

My recommendation is the Yelm roll but his new cilantro roll is by far the freshest roll you can find and it will be another must order for me. Their cooked food is also VERY good. Smelly kind of, too, when I took a bite? It did not taste fresh :/ staff was very quick with their attentiveness and ensured to provide refills as wanted. Also checked in multiple times without interruptions to conversations of table. Immediate seating at the booths when we opened the door to the restaurant. Great service and no complaints. Lots of booths to sit at to host many guests. I do not remember much about decorations, but I liked that the lighting was bright enough to comfortably read the menu because sushi restaurants tend to be so dim. Plenty of parking as it is at a square plaza with other shops and restaurants. also, my plate had a bit of dirt on it :/ I did not say anything because I ultimately chose to not use it

Parking was easy, at least. The lot had plenty of space, and when we arrived around 1 PM, it didn't seem all that busy. They offer both lunch and dinner AYCE options. If I remember correctly, lunch is around $27, with dinner being about $10 more. I do like that everyone in the party doesn't have to order the same AYCE option. For example, if two people are dining together and one wants lunch while the other wants dinner, you can each pay for the option you choose as long as you're not sharing. I've been to other AYCE sushi restaurants where everyone has to choose the same AYCE menu option, so I thought that was pretty cool. The menu itself did feel pretty small compared to some of the AYCE sushi places I've been to in California. It feels like maybe half the size of some of those menus, but Trapper's Sushi also has more of a smaller, casual AYCE vibe, so I wasn't expecting an enormous selection. The biggest thing that affected my rating was the rice. I actually liked the flavor/texture in this instance and thought it paired well with the nigiri, (and it holds together really well). However, it is definitely on the softer, mushier, and stickier side. As someone who really enjoys sushi, I generally prefer rice with a little more structure and I think others could agree with me, because overly mushy rice can affect the overall taste and texture. Buuut this time, I personally still enjoyed it with the nigiri, so I think this will really come down to preference. Our sushi chef was great, though. We sat at the bar, and he was really nice, conversational, and made our sushi in a timely manner. Our server was also friendly, but service was a little sparse. I believe she came by about three times: once in the beginning for our drinks and appetizers, near the end when we wanted drink refills, and then when we asked for the check. It didn't really bother me personally, although I probably would have ordered more tempura shrimp and miso soup if we'd been checked on more often. Instead, I ended up just stuffing myself with sushi. As for the sushi itself, most of the nigiri and regular rolls didn't particularly stand out to me, but the specialty rolls were satisfactory so I wasn't super disappointed. The Vader Roll was definitely our favorite. If you like creamy sushi rolls, I'd recommend giving this one a try. That was easily the highlight of the meal for us. I also enjoyed the Magnificent Roll, which is supposed to be their spiciest roll. Obviously, it can't be *too* spicy unless they want everyone signing waivers, but I'd put it around a 5/10 for heat. It had a nice kick while still having decent flavor, and I really liked the crunchy texture in the roll. I will say, I think the pricing is fair for what you get, especially if you're someone who likes ordering a lot of nigiri like I do. We left full and had a good time, so I don't regret coming here. Would I recommend it? If you're just looking for some casual sushi and an AYCE option, sure. But if you're really hardcore about sushi and particular about things like rice texture and variety, I don't think this would be a restaurant I would bring up to people.
