I have never witnessed a more unprofessional confrontation between a bartender (I think Brandy) and a customer who tried to get her attention while she was manically pacing back and forth behind the bar not serving anyone. She screamed at him and said I will not serve you and dropped a number of f bombs. She should be fired. I will never visit again when in town visiting family. Super cute little bar. Our Bartender was great. She greeted everyone as they walked in. Beer on tap, bottle and made mixed drinks. No drink menu. They also offer food but I didn't order anything. The regulars that were in there were super nice and welcoming. They also mentioned that they have great burgers. I will most definitely return! read more

Great dive bar. Came in to kill an hour before meeting up with some family. Restaurant down the street we are meeting at in a hour recommended Hannah's for some bloody Mary's. Came in and definitely hit with a dive bar with rustic feel. Ordered a couple bloody Mary's and were not disappointed. Very tasty. The Bartender was a very nice she regularly checked up on us. Next to us at bar were some "lively" guys partying and having fun. They kept us entertained too. They even had a walking dead pinball machine. Didn't have any quarters or I would have played a game. This is a great bar, I usually bring about 12 people here every other Saturday the bartender Brandy is genuinely the rudest bartender I have ever encountered. I have been in over 15 countries, been to many dive bars and without a doubt in my mind brandy will tank that business . No joke I will never come to this bar again as long as she works here. From the moment I came in she was confrontational and rude, I saw her yell at several other customer who weren't even in my party. It's genuinely ridiculous. I'm new to Olympia, came in for a few drinks (had 3 pints and a shot). I'm a big guy, and a veteran of the Army (280 lbs. and 6'1"). I was cutoff by a Karen-type bartender. I told them to not be so rude to me, as a paying customer. They told me to get out (after I stood up for myself), or they would call the cops on me. I told them to call the cops since I have nothing to hide, nor a criminal record. I told them I would leave but to tone down their disrespectful tones. I got up and I respectfully waited for the OPD outside. 30 min. later, the Karen-type bartender comes out screeching pleading to the police to arrest me. Dude, calm down. "Friendliest bar in town." Worst case of false advertising. The police and I talked for a minute and they exclaimed that the bar is wasting everyone's time. By the look of the previous reviews, it appears these Karens love calling the police. As a Mexican American and veteran, I have nothing to be afraid of. The whole "we're going to call the cops" cliché is played out. I think a more apt name for this establishment would be "Karen's." I wish I could take my 21% tip back. They deserve a 0.00% tip. I have never witnessed behavior like this from a bartender, I'm pretty sure she might have a mental health disorder. She yelled at customers and went back and forth at the bar talking about them. Hanna's is a fun place to go, but something is really wrong when the employee is out of control and yelling at customers. I understand that working in a bar can be challenging, but it's not okay to treat people who come into an establishment for a cocktail and get treated this way. read more

Honestly just unfortunate the manager brandi was a horrible person. Great bar, she escalated every conversation to the worst place possible. Was told she's only still employed because she's been there so long. Hurts the business but understandable. Probably best to just enjoy a drink at the kareoke bar 2 blocks down the road. read more

had a fun time here. had a single beer after dining at FishTale BrewPub - on the way to my Hotel. Sports bar dive - they had few regulars, those pull tab lottery tickets, and nice draft line up. Bartender Jake was friendly, got to chatting with him a bit. I drank a Beer from a local Firefighter brewery. Think it was a Pale. Pretty good. This stop at Hannah's, not too far off I-5, provided the most eclectic patronage I've yet seen in there. That's a neutral statement. It may be Olympia, home of funky Evergreen State College, but it has been more sedate at Hannah's on past visits. So, back to the pluses: an incredible mushroom Swiss cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and some type of burger sauce, heaps of big french fries, and a Coke, for under $10. Been coming back here off and on, it is a good bar. Interesting mix of people which is good at times. Lots of pool players and regulars who play competitively. Over all a good place to hang out and enjoy. The mix of music can be tortuous at times though. They have a group of rude and a-hole people that smoke cigs right in front of the door. There are signs, taped off areas on the ground that say no smoking in the door area which is very obvious and of course the laws, yet. These people still smoke their and it trails into the place. Which is very annoying. Just a bunch of lazy and do not care about anyone else than themselves people. The bartenders try to police it, but these people are above the law it seems and the ones that should be the first to go in the apocalypse or government take over. Their are Antifa types here, anti-vaxers, anti anything and the liberal liberals who want to be everyone's friend, then the down and out types, which you have to be careful to not get trapped in their crazy talk and hopefully they smell OK. Interesting mix of people, that is for sure. Good burgers and one of the best deals in town for a basket of fries (4.00) which can very generous in the portion size! read more

Less of a line for Karaoke on Saturday nights than there is at the Clipper, also a WAY different vibe (less divey and loud, more sports bar feeling). I love the art nouveau on the walls, and the stars on the ceiling. I was very tempted by the pull tabs, got trapped in a lock and chain bathroom, and succumbed to the lure of a shooting game that had a dollar already in it. Another dollar was added, and my friend and I woozily shot our drunk little hearts out. I was done drinking by the time our crawl got here, so I can't give you an opinion on drink prices/serving, but overall, I'm glad I stopped by Hannah's. I'll try again sometime! read more

Been playing pool here for years ordered a beers was hanging out with life long friends ran out of quarters walked to the bar had a 50 cent coin was told "we dont except those" then asked you dont accept American currency? was told no. A lady next to me was kind enough to exchange the money for me thank you! I would like to say i was here during lunch, and it was just what i was looking for on a Thursday.I come in the staff Jessie was very friendly,The bar was neat and tidy. They had pacman and galaga as well as pinball huge plus for a dive bar. I ordered the club sandwhich it was amazing. crisp thick bacon melted creamy american chesse, turkey, crunchy pickles, fresh garden tomatoes and lettuce. the kicker three slices of toasted sourdough bread.The side salad was made with all fresh produce. I ordered a bloody mary hats off for this the Jessie knew what she was doing here. A nice kick of spuce rimmed with johnnies season salt and homade pickled green beans carrots and pearl onions. All in all a great experience and i would recommend for a late lunch or an early release from work. read more

This is a cool, divey little local watering hole. The service isn't outstanding, but the drinks are well-priced and the sheer entertainment value is priceless. Lots of different people come in here - jocks/hipsters/business doods/ladies night patrons/etc. so, the varied mix of people keeps it an interesting place to people watch. It looks a little like a shit show on the outside, but once you're in, it's just like any other hole-in-the-wall, in my opinion. A few tables/booths, pool tables, some arcade machines and a stage for live music and/or karaoke. Nothing is too well kept, but everything seemed clean. So, that was nice. The bathrooms are completely nuts, and I've gotten stuck in them more than once...though, I cannot attest to whether it was because of the semi-broken locking mechanisms, or if I'd had one too many double-crown royals...so, I'll leave it up to you to test out those waters. :) Friday nights are probably my favorite here. Karaoke (the host sings Prince's, "Pussy Control" by request!! BONUS!) and a little dood comes around that does magic. There are two things I love in this world...karaoke and street magic - this place has them both. :) A small note, it does seem like if you become a regular here, that you'd be treated just a tad bit better and maybe get stronger drinks - so, just beware of that. One really gets the feeling there's something dodgy going on in the back rooms, but perhaps that's just me. The fried things seem to be the usual Cash 'n' Carry varieties that will neither wow nor disappoint if you're expecting bar food. Friendly staff, which is nice. I always assumed it was a crappier place than it turns out to be. The windows are dark, but the interior isn't overwhelmingly-so. There's pull tabs, and the atmosphere is rather less chic than you might get from most other places downtown; it's very Washington in a way that can be nice but a little uncomfortable if you're a weirdo like me. But that seems to totally be my projections and my discomfort and nothing to do with the place. It's cozy and friendly, at least so long as it's not busy. The highlight for me is the pool tables, which are pretty standard return models like you'll find in most bars, and although the felt is pretty beat up, they seem to be better cared-for than some of the nicer tables around town. The cues are straight and solid, which is certainly not true of, say, the Spar. It's free all week until 3pm and all day Sunday, too, which is really nice. Just two tables, and kind of close to the booths, but nice to play on all the same, and that's really saying something. read more

Dammit now THAT's a burger. A few of us stopped in on a Monday afternoon - our first visit. A clean, orderly joint with a reasonable amount of tavern-anywhere-USA character. Extraordinarily comfortable booths. There was one guy working the bar, very friendly. And the burgers he whipped up... excellent. Okay maybe "whipped up" is a stretch. It actually took awhile. But it was worth the wait! Fixins, fixins, fixins! The green chili burger is verrrry tasty. The bacon on the burger at Hannah's is not as good as the bacon on the burger at Ben Moore's. However, the burger in its entirety blows Ben's away. Stop by Ben's. Order bacon. Put it in your pocket. Cross the parking lot to Hannah's. Order cheeseburger. Insert bacon. Reach burger heaven. We had a buy one (up to 8.00) get one free coupon, so after reading the reviews here, we went to try the burgers. We each got a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and I must say...yummeh! Lots of cheese and bacon and goop and toppings on the burgers. They were really good. The atmosphere was a bit strange. We had no idea what to do when we walked in. (We aren't good bar people.) So, for any newbies: Just walk in, savor the "carpet has probably been saturated with beer many times over" smell, which I kind of liked, sit anywhere you want, and you might then have to go up to the bar and ask if they're serving food and if you can have some menus. When he gives you the menus, just point out to him where you are sitting. If it's anything like when we went, we got EXCELLENT service by the bartender (a very nice, tall, slim man). He was very attentive and very friendly. P.S. We got out BOGO coupon from the Entertainment Book. Some of the people in there were a bit odd, but this *is* Olympia, so...no biggie. Hannah's is every neighborhood bar you've ever been to. Cheap drinks, down to earth bartenders and enough local color to keep things interesting. Karaoke night is a little rough on the ears but I've still sat through it for several hours on two different occasions. I haven't eaten the food yet but I'm always there late and have only really seen huge plates of fries being passed across the bar. Drink selection is surprisingly awesome. Lots of good "top shelf" minus the top shelf price. Bartenders are always very friendly and when they aren't running around they are good for a chat. A diamond in the rough for Olympians. read more

Reasons that make the night worthwhile at Hannah's: JUKEBOOXXXXXXX - I've put way too much money in this thing. I just love playing disco when the only people around are popped collar pool sharks. Whipped Cream Vodka - I feel like not a lot of places have this stuff. Or if they do, they just don't know how to use it. Pull Tabs - Yup. Where I come from, these things don't exist so you can imagine my excitement when they're in the building! Kareoke - I don't recall what nights this happens but if you like being able to actually get a turn in, skipping the clipper is a safe bet. However, the crowd that swivels in chairs here isn't known for its great taste in sing-a-long jams. I heard nirvana, tool and puddle of mudd in one night. Depression soon set in. Stopped in for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was deserted! The atmosphere was definitely not what I expected. From the outside it definitely looks like a dingy/dirty dive bar, but inside is actually still just a nice and relaxed bar. Not dingy at all. Definitely points earned for being a low-key place when you're not wanting a crowd. Bartender was courteous enough. A couple good beers on tap. Not a place I'd go for a date or to show visitors the best that Olympia has to offer, but definitely has its place in the roster. From the other reviews and what I saw when I was in there, the food might actually be worth a try. I will also probably be back sometime for the Saturday pool tournaments. read more

Monday night, 4/15 was our first visit to Hannah's in years. Jake the bartender was incredibly confrontational and argumentative with us about a topic he brought up. He belittled my friend over this matter, because she didn't share his opinion, and talked over her. In addition to that, he offered no help when a regular patron began to bother us and afterwards defended him, gushing over and over what a "good guy" he really is... I would wager he is his drug hookup. Wish we could take back the over 100% tip (we are industry) we left him upon ordering and paying upfront for our shots, as we did not expect to get that sort of treatment in return. Weird vibe in there, we felt unsafe and unwelcome. Left w/o finishing our drinks , out the back door because Jake and the visibly overserved patron whom had been pestering us a few minutes earlier were posted out front smoking and chatting. As we pulled away, the impaired regular was approaching our vehicle. Glad we left when we did. So much for a nice nightcap & convo with a friend. read more
