I felt so rushed to eat here because the staff kept checking in to see if we wanted anything else. Was not even near closing time, but I felt so interrupted by the staff. I understand that they are doing their job, but really, the table needs to breathe! No need to clean right away if u see that the customers are engaged in deep conversation! Food was just okay. I did love the calamari, though. Watch out for when you seat on the higher ground because the step there may catch u by surprise. Lots of people, so tables are close, but very lively. Love that u can see the sushi chefs do their thing, if seated in the bar counter area, too

Delicious as always! The fish always taste so fresh and the bento boxes are huge a great price and great for sharing. The staff is friendly. Environment clean. Service is quick making it a great lunch spot.

The food is just not good here. Everything is bland and generic. Actually it's all kind of gross, in a way I can't put words to. Like when the sushi rice is more mushed together than grains, it's just an immediate sign that something is wrong. I came with a larger group so I was able to sample a wide variety of rolls, nigiri, and even teriyaki. The service was apathetic - our table's food arrived but mine didn't (clearly forgotten when they have to be reminded what you ordered) and I had to wait while other orders kept getting completed and served without our server checking on it at all. The ambiance is bare bones to unpleasant, with a staff eating/dumping zone in full view (I'll attach a pic if I can). There's no reason to come here.

Wonderful sushi! Wonderful food! We have been driving an hour to get here for years, it's that good. Service is excellent and it's comfortable and clean.

Walking in around 5:45pm on a Saturday night as a party of 5, no reservations and still were seated rather quickly. Our waitress was friendly and cheerful, the food portions are on the larger size and delicious.

Been coming here more frequently and it's definitely the best sushi place in town. Serving is big and fish is fresh. Rice is still sweet like before but it's good. Service has been awesome - always have someone checking on us. It gets pretty busy during dinner time but shouldn't be a long wait.

My husband and I love to try our new restaurants once a month for our date night, last weekend, we decided to try this restaurant out. With that being said, there were some things that stuck out which made our visit not as pleasant as we were hoping. The sushi was delicious and very creative in appearance. We tried 4 different rolls and felt that each one was good in flavor, texture and combinations. Food aside, we were not quite happy with the choice of music and the loudness of it. The music was filled with 'F' bombs, sex, and inappropriate behavior/wording. It was completely unexpected from a sushi restaurant that also had a children's menu. The music was incredibly loud and it felt almost like a club which is not how my husband and I were expecting to experience during our lunch. It was hard to think let alone hold a conversation. There is a time and place for music like that, but during lunchtime on a Saturday is just absurd. We will not be returning. If you don't mind loud, raunchy music with good sushi, then you would probably enjoy your meal.

Sushi House is our go-to sushi spot and one of our favorite spots to eat in ALL of Olympia! The staff is so friendly and the food is always fresh. The restaurant is spacious, but can get a little loud when it's busy. Portions are GENEROUS! I always leave feeling happy and full! This was our second time eating here this week alone (the first time I dug in too quickly to get a photo lol)

The interior feels refined and stylish, with soft lighting and purple accents that give it a calm, upscale vibe. Service was genuinely kind, attentive, and well-timed. The miso soup was deep in flavor, the seaweed salad fresh and nicely plated. The Baked Salmon Roll and Olympian Roll really stood out -- fresh fish, balanced flavors, and beautiful presentation. Sitting there to eat would probably be awkward with every patron passing behind you. We got the Paradise and the Hurricane rolls. The Paradise was good, but the Hurricane won hands down. Sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy, with a touch of spiciness, this was the complete package. Highly recommend. The bathroom is outside of the restaurant through a winding corridor of backrooms. It's unsettling, and then the restroom itself is lit in a sickly yellow. One of the motion-sensing faucets had its motion-sensor ripped out, and the sink drain looked like it had been dissolved in acid. Kinda weird!

I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur (my husband just calls me "bougie" lol), so I figured we'd give this place a try since it was convenient and a sushi place for me to try. When we walked in, it was completely empty and there was a sign up at the entrance mentioning they were hiring servers. The restaurant seemed spacious but maybe it felt that way because all the tables were unoccupied. It took a few seconds before someone came out, but the girl who helped us ended up being the only saving grace of the entire experience. She was super sweet, told us we could sit anywhere, brought menus right away, and was on top of everything: drinks, appetizer, sushi, clearing plates. She was honestly the only person we interacted with the whole time. I did end up going to the register to pay after our meal, since she got busy once more people came in, but she handled everything she could really well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. It was simply mediocre. The shrimp tempura tasted undercooked (I could still taste the batter smh). My husband got the Red Dragon roll and I got the Big Mike. He asked for no cucumber and they were accommodating. Regarding portion sizes, they're generous, and I can see how that might appeal to the general palate. I like that the rolls were cut nicely too, where the rolls were a little thinner than your standard piece, so they were easy to eat. The torched salmon and eel were probably the best parts of what I ordered. But overall, the quality felt pretty average. The rice was lacking flavor and kind of just tasted like plain filler. Our total came out to about $57 before tip, and honestly, it didn't feel worth it. Most rolls averaged $19, but they tasted more like something you'd expect at a cheaper spot. I've had similar sushi before that I'd consider more of a budget option (not amazing, but decent for the price). This sushi was passable but tasted more like $15 for a roll.. Just subpar for my standards. I think what made it more disappointing is that when I go out for sushi, I am expecting something better than what I could make at home (and yes, I have made sushi before with sashimi-grade fish, sushi rice, etc.). It is convenient to have someone cook for you, and good sushi is supposed to feel like an extraordinary experience. That's why I dine out at sushi restaurants but this just didn't hit the spot. Overall, amazing service, but the food was pretty underwhelming for the price.

The food is fine but nothing that made me think, "Yes, we're coming back." There were a few patrons there, but it must have been a restocking day or something because some of their supplies were spilling out of the kitchen into the dining areas, so it wasn't a great vibe. I did like how they were playing regional programming on the TVs so we had something to look at as we ate, but on the whole, it might be better on the weekends when people are filling the restaurant and bringing the energy up.

Reviewing for just the ramen since I haven't tried anything else on their menu…read more My son and I were craving ramen a few weeks ago and we've been trying out different ramen places to compare. We're down the street from Zen and decided to give their ramen a try. Parking is easy to locate but can be a bit crowded since it's in the same lot as Dutch Bros and a couple other shops. When we first entered, we were greeted by an employee (and the Naruto statue at the front hehe). It was fairly empty when we arrived since it was on a Friday around 4ish in the afternoon. You have to pay first when you order. You'll be provided a number placard to place at a table of your choose when you dine in, and your food will be brought to you when it is ready. Drinks are also self-serve (for soda). We decided upon water cups but it's at the same station as the sodas. There is a menu at the cash register for quick ordering if you know what you want (when you walk in, it's on the left). The employee also directed us to a menu with pictures and descriptions of each item (when you walk in, it's on the right). The place definitely has Japanese vibes for the interior decor with its oaky/wooden furniture and warm lighting. Our ramen arrived shortly after we seated ourselves. We both ordered similar spicy ramen, which ended up tasting fairly good. My son really enjoyed his ramen since he liked the level of spiciness and taste of the broth (spicy enough to taste the flavors and feel the heat but not enough to hurt). He also liked that the ingredients were balanced (not an overabundance of just ramen noodles). I did enjoy my ramen as well and shared similar views. My only criticism would be that the ramen options seemed very simplistic and many ingredients were similar, so it didn't feel like much variety. My son and I actually ordered two different kinds of ramen, believe it or not, but from the photos, they look almost identical. There's also only the option of tonkatsu or shoyu broth, regular or spicy. The soft boiled egg was delicious but it would have been nice to receive a full egg instead of just half. They are generous with their chasu portions at least, with its big slices. Not as tender compared to other places I've been to, though, but still tastes good. We enjoyed our experience here though so I can at least say that it's worth trying out the ramen. Not so sure about the sushi burritos but maybe we will consider for next time.
