My husband and I decided to dine here during our visit in Olympia for lunch on Valentine's Day After finding this highly reviewed place on google. The place was clean and had great lighting. The bathroom was in the middle of renovation it looked like so it had an industrial smell that they were airing out with a portable filter. There was only one server and I knew he was busy with the other guests so I just had to let him know of our requests for chopstick before I ate the food they just served on their table. The food was delicious, the flavors and presentation of the dishes were very well thought out. Our favorite was the clam and shrimp chowder and I later found out after letting our server know that it was our favorite that it had more of an Asian fusion to it with miso, which I was surprised about because I did not taste the miso flavor as the flavors balanced out real well. The desserts were also very delicious! Would love to come back again when we're around Olympia.

Really good food! We went last night (2 people) and while it wasn't busy, we were seated promptly and attended to quickly. Our server was really nice, the chef in the kitchen waved hello. We got the white truffle and artichoke dip app, gyoza, and the duck croquettes for starters. My husband had the ribs and I got the chicken katsu curry w/rice. It was really good, we'll definitely be back! I do wish more people were in there but from 6:30-7:30pm, it was just us and a 4-top.

Amazing food, ambiance, and service. I had: 1) salad kale 2)Salmon donburi 2) cream brûlée 3) steak donburi On a previous trip also had the dumplings, octopus, kale salad, and steak. Difficult to put into words, everything was amazing. Michelin style meals right there in downtown Olympia.

Beautiful interior, clean and modern. I almost forgot we were in downtown. Even the dish and cups had fun design. I love the open kitchen concept. The bathroom though could use some remodeling to match the vibes. Our server, Taiesha(?) was awesome. She checked on us multiple times. The food was delicious. We tried the hamachi carpaccio and liked it more than we thought we would! We loved the sauce and the wasabi avocado yogurt dressing on top was interesting (in a good way!). Never had it before. It didn't have the wasabi taste. The sauce was sweet and everything was paired well. We tried the seared salmon and eel Donburi. The salmon was perfectly smoked, but the dish is a bit "wet" once you break the egg and mix with the rice & sauce. I liked the corn in the eel bowl, it brought nice texture / crunch to each bite. My eel felt a bit smaller compared to the other pictures on Yelp. So overall, portion did seem a bit small but price is fair. We also tried the citrus creme brûlée which was decent but nothing notable. I probably wouldn't get this again. Overall, great spot. Would recommend!

We're looking for something new and found this place on Yelp. The foods were delicious. We ordered the hamachi carpaccio, truffle artichokes dip, crab meat spaghetti, unadon, crab meat don, and sticky date pudding. We didn't have any leftovers and were full and happy.

We came back yesterday with our parents and brother for dad's 65th birthday. Our family loved the food. They were going to go to a regular chain restaurant and we suggested coming here instead. Everything from the appetizer, down to the dessert was very tasty. Service was very good as well. We had a good family time and enjoyed our food very much. The owner even got us an extra dessert for dad's birthday! We definitely will be coming back again soon :)

Tried this out because we'd heard good things about the food. The place is nicely appointed and impressive and intimate for date night, but what's up with the ultra high bench seating at the windows. Sit there and you have the table sitting on your lap, so if they ever do a redesign, please shave half a foot off the benches. As for the food, they need to do a little work. We tried the roasted pumpkin and that was both tough and mushy and the sauce was not working. I really gave it a shot, but after a few chews, I had to spit it out in my napkin because I couldn't handle the taste or consistency. Sis for the crab meat spaghetti and it needed a creamier sauce or something. Mom tried the Aburi salmon don and she thought it was okay, but she didn't finish it. I tried the Karaage don and I actually liked it, but I also have had better. I wanted to like this but I felt I was doing all the work to try to like it, rather than sitting there enjoying my meal. I think maybe my standards are a little high and my expectations were definitely at a place beyond this restaurant's reach, but don't let that stop you. Give it a try because people say good things about this, so maybe this place is just not for me.

The space is really nice, there is no dedicated parking so depending on when you're visiting parking could be a little further away. The prices were what you'd kinda expect for the area. Each of us got a Donburi bowl, the eel, karragge and salmon. The salmon bowl is really wet, especially if you like a runny egg. Need more crunchy texture, just something to break it up. The eel was good as well as the chicken. We also got a side of fries which was topped with furikake which was tasty. We also got the mushroom arancini which were okay. I probably wouldn't get it again.

This place is a gem in Olympia. I come here regularly, and the food is always excellent. The ambiance is wonderful and the service is great. I'm making the most of it while it's still around!

The items we ordered were well prepared and presented and were delicious. A very nice young couple opened the restaurant recently. The husband graduated from the Cardon Bleu from Paris. We highly recommend this new restaurant.

EXCELLENT food, amazing service and tasty drinks. Price is hard to beat for the quality you get in every single dish. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in downtown Olympia. 10/10!!!!

Literally made a yelp account to come on here and say their sweet potato fries!?!?!? whewww.

I forget the name of this cocktail but it's the one with yuzu and vodka. Fresh and piquant.

Sitting there to eat would probably be awkward with every patron passing behind you. We got the Paradise and the Hurricane rolls. The Paradise was good, but the Hurricane won hands down. Sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy, with a touch of spiciness, this was the complete package. Highly recommend. The bathroom is outside of the restaurant through a winding corridor of backrooms. It's unsettling, and then the restroom itself is lit in a sickly yellow. One of the motion-sensing faucets had its motion-sensor ripped out, and the sink drain looked like it had been dissolved in acid. Kinda weird!

The staff is absolutely amazing every time I've been there. They are kind, quick, and attentive. I have seen this small restaurant transform through remodeling from a cute little place to enjoy sushi to a true atmosphere where you feel like you're getting a luxury dining experience. To give some tips on my favorite rolls, the Las Vegas roll (while it has gotten a bit smaller since years ago) is such a unique and delicious roll ESPECIALLY if you like a creamy warm roll. For those who do not like cream cheese or avocado on their rolls, I HAVE to recommend one of the latest additions to their menu, the Unagi Lover. I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur (my husband just calls me "bougie" lol), so I figured we'd give this place a try since it was convenient and a sushi place for me to try. When we walked in, it was completely empty and there was a sign up at the entrance mentioning they were hiring servers. The restaurant seemed spacious but maybe it felt that way because all the tables were unoccupied. It took a few seconds before someone came out, but the girl who helped us ended up being the only saving grace of the entire experience. She was super sweet, told us we could sit anywhere, brought menus right away, and was on top of everything: drinks, appetizer, sushi, clearing plates. She was honestly the only person we interacted with the whole time. I did end up going to the register to pay after our meal, since she got busy once more people came in, but she handled everything she could really well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. It was simply mediocre. The shrimp tempura tasted undercooked (I could still taste the batter smh). My husband got the Red Dragon roll and I got the Big Mike. He asked for no cucumber and they were accommodating. Regarding portion sizes, they're generous, and I can see how that might appeal to the general palate. I like that the rolls were cut nicely too, where the rolls were a little thinner than your standard piece, so they were easy to eat. The torched salmon and eel were probably the best parts of what I ordered. But overall, the quality felt pretty average. The rice was lacking flavor and kind of just tasted like plain filler. Our total came out to about $57 before tip, and honestly, it didn't feel worth it. Most rolls averaged $19, but they tasted more like something you'd expect at a cheaper spot. I've had similar sushi before that I'd consider more of a budget option (not amazing, but decent for the price). This sushi was passable but tasted more like $15 for a roll.. Just subpar for my standards. I think what made it more disappointing is that when I go out for sushi, I am expecting something better than what I could make at home (and yes, I have made sushi before with sashimi-grade fish, sushi rice, etc.). It is convenient to have someone cook for you, and good sushi is supposed to feel like an extraordinary experience. That's why I dine out at sushi restaurants but this just didn't hit the spot. Overall, amazing service, but the food was pretty underwhelming for the price.

The restaurant is easy to find, located in a plaza with other businesses, so there's plenty of parking available. I also like that their hours are posted in military time; it's a small detail, but it removes any confusion about opening and closing times. The space itself is on the smaller side, but it feels comfortable and welcoming. We arrived around 17:00 on a Wednesday and were seated quickly. Service was friendly from start to finish--menus were brought promptly, and we were asked about drinks right away (water was perfect for us). Throughout the meal, the staff was attentive without being intrusive, refilling our water and clearing dishes at just the right times. We started with the agedashi tofu to share. The broth was flavorful and the tofu was prepared well, with that soft, gooey, gelatinous consistency. While it wasn't quite my personal preference (I tend to favor a crispier texture), it was still tasty and likely ideal for those who enjoy it that way. For our main dishes, my son ordered the tonkatsu corn ramen, and I had the black garlic ramen (without bean sprouts--personal preference). This was our first ramen spot since moving to Washington, and it genuinely reminded us of a favorite place we used to visit in Sacramento. The broth was rich, creamy, and deeply savory--absolutely delicious. I especially liked that the ramen was served with a ladle instead of a standard soup spoon, which made it easier to sip more of the broth. The noodles were cooked perfectly--not too firm, not too soft--and paired really well with the toppings. My son even commented on the generous portion of noodles, which I joked was exactly what we signed up for when ordering ramen! We both finished our bowls feeling completely satisfied. The chashu and egg were highlights for me--I took my time consuming them. My only small critique is that I wish the ramen included a full soft-boiled egg instead of just half, especially with bowls averaging around $17. Overall, this was a great dining experience with flavorful food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. While I have a couple of minor preferences, I would definitely return and recommend it to others looking for quality ramen in the area.
