Ok Let me first say, it's NEVER a company name, but it ALWAYS boils down to the individual. I am in this type of business so I know a LOT about it. That being said, KARL PANYKO from Samm's is or would be the guy I want to use. Integrity & character here folks. Let me explain... The service business is the human capital business. I had these guys come out and make some repairs on my AC over the summer. Nothing wrong. Plenty nice, cordial, respectful folks, but I spent almost $2 grand over a few visits with issues, so they're not cheap & when it's summer you're sort of held by the short hairs wanting cool air, not to mention it cost you $85 bucks just to have them walk in the door....ok, money spent, problem fixed. Would it really have costs that much? I'm a skeptic in every way... Ok, fast forward, winter's a' come'n, turn heat on...nothing. Heater's not working. Huh...worked fine last year. Call Samm's. Naturally my first thought based on many experiences around my home with many is...somethings fishy here. I purchased their maintenance program, so I had to burn my 2nd visit out so as not to have to spend $85 bucks...underneath I'm fully expecting these guys to ream me....KARL PANYKO shows up at my door. Again, nice & cordial folks. I explain my sitch & that all seems a bit fishy...but ok, do your thing & let's see what comes. KARL does his thing & comes back & says, it's on us. When we installed the circuit board over the summer we forgot to attach the one wire that runs the heat...SOLID. Someone owned up. I can't say if this were another person the outcome would have been the same. It may have, it may not have, but this guy did the right thing. Again, it WILL ALWAYS BOIL DOWN TO THE INDIVIDUAL...& this guy landed right in my eyes. He then went on to find some other blockages of which he photographed and showed me that had cluttered up my heating element with insulation & dust that now makes the unit run more efficiently.... For once I was extremely pleased with this outcome, but again I am a people person, not a company person...& how will you ever know what's what? Well, it boils down tot he individual & do you buy what they are telling you? I did here & if I use these guys again I would want KARL knocking on my door. The others who have come by are & were plenty nice, but who isn't when it's costing you...? I'm not mad they forgot to connect a wire, but I am glad the right thing was done...it cost me my maintenance card to gamble on whether they would have charged me the $85 bucks... That's my story.... read more

The BEST team ever. We have been doing business with Samm's for many years and we recently need ed extensive work done. The team of Tiffany, Aury and Ronnie that worked at my home were incredible. They were very considerate with keeping the house clean with mats everywhere and wearing booties any time they walked in the house. They did a fantastic job both inside and outside of the house. Amber is always so kind and helpful keeping me informed of the team's whereabouts. I can't say enough about Jesus, our salesmen. He came to my home and was here crawling around trying in our attics to find the best possible and best price for replacing and repairing my three a/c units. He looked at EVERYTHING, including duct work, air flow, vents, coils, etc. He dedicated 4 hours of his time and was able to give me options on how to proceed forward. One of the units died before our scheduled date and Karl came to our aid to do a temporary fix until our install date which was about 10 days out. Jesus to the rescue came to install a window unit in my son's upstairs window at 10:30 at night. He was willing to go to Home Depot to retro fit the unit to fit in the window. He made yet another rescue again on a different night at 9:30 pm by coming to open a vent up in our attic. He treated us with such kindness and as if it were no bother whatsoever. He is the sweetest person and we feel very fortunate to have him helping us. I am not sure what the owner Paul does to retain and create such incredible, dedicated and loyal employees, but he must have the magic touch. Thank you for everything. read more

I highly recommend Samm's Heating and Air. We ended up deciding to replace our entire HVAC system a couple weeks ago. Everything about the entire process with them was ideal. Here are some examples: - They always responded quickly and courteously to every single phone call I made. - Always on time to every appointment, and always called beforehand. - Both the technician and the system specialist who visited our home gave specific assessments, and multiple options for repairs (from repairing small parts to replacing the entire system). Because of this, we felt very informed and felt no pressure to make any particular decision. - The installation team was hardworking, professional, courteous, and respectful of my house. It's hard to believe how pleasant people could be after a 13-hour installation in the dead of Summer, but they were! - The extras: they voluntarily send a person out after installation of the HVAC system to do a quality check (ours found a small problem and fixed it on the spot); they voluntarily schedule a city inspection for the protection of both the homeowner and the company; they include a 2-hour maid service in the price of the HVAC installation to come and clean the house after install - Someone put some good thought into their logo/colors. Their stuff just looks good. This may seem small, but when I know a company puts thought into small things (like logos and colors), I know they likely pay attention to small things in their work. read more

There are not enough good words to say about Samms Heating and Air. We had an appointment set for an air cleaning and at that time they pointed out many repairs that needed to be done and we were very shocked to learn we needed a whole new unit in and out. They were very honest and explained everything that needed to be repaired. They were very helpful with meeting our financial needs. We scheduled our day on Aug 21st 2015 to have the unit installed and the techs were very prompt and even gave us a courtesy call before arriving. They arrived at 7 am and you could not ask for a more professional, courteous, outstanding team as Jaime, Jose and Danny! They were the nicest set of guys and had a great sense of humor as well. They got right to work and were very helpful in answering our questions we had along the way. They were here for over 13 hours and always had an upbeat professional attitude. They got us up and running and were very clear in explaining the new unit and thermostat to us and by the time they got everything in and running and cleaned up, you couldn't even tell they were here. The inside and outside were cleaned up perfectly. Five stars is not enough for this company and the techs that got us cooled off again!! We will be using you guys for many years to come!! Thank you so very much!!!!! Louie and Misti DiMillio read more

This past Friday night, my AC went out. The next morning I woke up early before work and called about twenty places requesting someone to come out and check my unit. Marcus from samm's called AND emailed back very quickly. long story short, I had to call him back later on in the day and again he was very quick to respond and was able to meet me at my house within the hour (after 5 PM on a weekend!! Most places were either not responsive, could only fit me in days later, and/or wanted me to pay a big fee for that time). He was prompt and very courteous. He got to my house and continued to receive multiple calls but he didn't answer his phone (which showed me he was in high demand but also focused on helping me out!!) he found the problem right away and fixed it, but then continued to check out all the other indoor and outdoor components of the unit to make sure there weren't mutiple problems involved. He really took the time to explain each step to me,and made suggestions along the way without trying to just sell me stuff. Marcus, you are a rockstar!! I would give him 100 stars if I could. And at the end, all I had to do was pay the initial service fee (which is about what I would have paid had I just done it under warranty, except I would have had to wait days for them to even respond!) read more

If i could give Carl at SAMM's more than 5 stars I would. My Honeywell thermostat died and a clerk at Home Depot told me I could install the new unit I purchased on the existing wall mount. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As my home quickly started to heat up I started calling local AC companies. I spoke to several answering services, and Carl from SAMM's was the first to respond. I explained the problem and he gave me a couple of service options - one of which was to walk me through the process of installing the new wall-mount and wiring the new unit. I was more than a little nervous about messing around with wires as I was completely out of my comfort zone. But Carl was incredibly patient and walked me and my daughter through the process step by step. The installation of the new unit took about 15 minutes from start to end. And as soon as the new unit was popped onto the new wall mount the AC clicked on and immediately started working. Carl was our hero! In addition, someone from SAMM'S called the next morning to check in to make sure everything was working ok. I can honestly say that this is some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. Thanks, Carl....and I thanks SAMM's for putting your customers first. read more

When are furnace went on fritz the day after Thanksgiving I made the mistake and called another AC/Heating Company, 350 dollars later and no really fix but to tell me I had to replace the whole unit. That was not what I wanted to hear heading into the holidays. I called Samm's and they sent Russ out to see us. He was on time and very professional, I also felt he was very honest with us. He took a good look at the furnace and gave us options, he even worked with the owner of the Samm's to help us after wasting 350 bucks with the other guys. I am very happy we made the call to Samm's. I will only use them from now on and will buy our next system from Samm's as I know I will get the best deal and the right choice that is good for me and not just good for them. Our service Tech Victor was on time and very professional and polite. Explained the whole process he was going to do to the system and was in and out very quickly. System has been working great so far. Victor gave us his number and told us to call if we needed anything. We felt very comfortable with Victor. He answered all of our questions and made sure we were happy when he left. Samm's does is right and has a customer for life! read more

Tonight, I came home from work and found that my AC unit was running but my house was not cooling to the selected temperate. I stumbled across Samm's Heating and Air Conditioning after searching local HVAC companies in Plano on Google. I am so thankful that they took my call and that Marcus was able and willing to come check out my AC unit. He had a fantastic attitude to be working at 10pm on a Wednesday and was thorough in checking everything related to my AC unit. Ultimately, he informed us that we needed a new filter and also that a particular piece of the AC unit needed to be replaced. He offered the maintenance plan and explained the benefits but was never pushy. In fact, during the entire process he was honest about what needed to be repaired/replaced, about things we needed to keep an eye on and never pressured us into anything. Marcus was also incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. We ended up signing up for the maintenance plan and are grateful to know that Marcus or his colleagues will be taking care of our HVAC needs going forward. 5 starts for Samm's and for Marcus! read more

My wife's parents air conditioner quit working and they have dementia and are looked after 24-7 by caretakers. I called Rose and explained the situation and the tremendous undertaking of possibly having to relocate them due to the hot weather. She listened and understood the problem completely and had a service tech, Karl there within the hour. He diagnosed the problem and had them back up and running before we could have even have made the drive to Plano. Karl was totally honest and fixed the problem very quickly at a great price. The company could have taken us to the cleaners because we were not there to oversee the problem and repairs needed, but they chose to be straight forward and honest while demonstrating true integrity and professionalism. That is something I find quite rare and Samm's Heating and Air Conditioning made a customer for life, and I will definitely be telling all our family and friends about the great service, and honesty they have shown our family during a potentially serious situation. Karl and Rose, y'all are the best! Thank you! read more

Bought HVAC system from Samm's in 06 & Spring & Fall Care keeps our units in perfect condition! Rose & Amber are fantastic employees in the office & always take perfect care of our needs. Kudos to you two! Great job. Met Jordan 1st time today & he certainly reminded us once again you hire fine employees. Most pleased with Victor C. today for he always takes excellent care of our unit "Exceeding" all our expectations! He is friendly, proficient & professional. BTW on a recent Sunday our unit was not cooling & our other Favorite Employee Marcus showed up when it was 89 on a Sunday to fix the Protractor. He performs amazingly wonderful care & in a very timely manner. Every single one of y'all rock big time in our house & you're the reason Samm's will Always Be our HVAC Company. Retiring from 46 yrs in Customer Care these employees exemplify Fantastic Customer Service with Excellence! read more

Came home Saturday night at 11:30 pm and the house was over 80 degrees (with the forecast for Sunday to be 105 degrees). I called around midnight and their answering service took my message and the technician called me back within 45 minutes and told me he could be at my house by 11:00 am Sunday morning. He showed up on time and had the parts needed in his truck. The air was up and running within an hour. I do commercial HVAC design, so I understand a lot about my home equipment and the repairs were done correctly and the technician was very professional. The pricing was probably a little higher than most, but well worth it to get it done promptly and in such a professional manner on a Sunday in August. A lot of my friends call me for advice on service companies due to the nature of my work. I will absolutely be recommending Samm's to them in the future. read more

Samm's team is made of of experts in the air quality field and proper sizing and installation of appropriate systems. For this you might be spending a little more to have it done correctly the first time and that includes their workmanship warranty, permitting, and all the little things that many other companies either don't obtain or "forget" to do. In the long run the systems that Samm's provide will pay for themselves in both efficiency and day to day comfort, and you will be happy that you used this company. Their team also always wears shoe covers, puts down protective blankets, and has a thorough cleaning performed when major work is done. This adds up to a white-glove type of service that leaves you with a cleaner and more comfortable home and the confidence that they will be there to support it should anything go wrong. The best of the best! read more

We recently had Samm's replace both of our HVAC systems. We've lived in our home for 25 years and we plan on living here for the next 25 years! We wanted a company who would make sure the investment we were making in our home was done correctly and would address the cooling and heating needs of our home. Marcus came out and assessed the needs of our home as far as the equipment. He was extremely professional and was very willing to work with us and answer any questions we had. The installation crew was extremely prompt and courteous. Javier and his crew were always very communicative with us and worked extremely hard to keep the installation "mess" to a minimum. They wanted to make sure we were happy and pleased with everything. I would highly recommend Samm's to be your HVAC service company!! They are proud of what they do and it shows!! read more

Paul, the owner, clearly knows how to keep his customers satisfied. He hires excellent employees who are always polite and he offers the best customer discounts that are truly of benefit to his customers. I added his compressor saver to my HVAC system at a very reasonable price, thus the life of my compressor could be extended for a much longer period of time. Be sure and ask him how it works. Samm's you are top notch in my books for 10 years now! Anyone who doesn't get the checkup of their HVAC unit with Samm's for the extended life of your system is missing the boat. They come out twice a year to check for the summer and winter season. Because we swear by this plan~~ Our unit was new January 2005 and still purrs like a kitten, and the plan is a very reasonable maintenance plans. Thanks y'all for "The Best Service EVER!" read more

You can always count on Samm's to be courteous, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. Today, Victor C came to fix my air unit - this guy really knows his stuff. I was extremely impressed with his expertise and professionalism He listened to my problem, checked a few things, and then in a matter of minutes had deduced the issue, told me how he could fix it, and had repairs completed in a flash. He wore booties when walking around in the house so my floors did not get dirty, and he also took the time to educate me on anything I asked about. The office staff is also extremely responsive and professional; Misty is as good as it gets. Samm's consistently exceeds my expectations and hires superior staff. I would recommend them to anyone and will be using them for all of my air system needs. Would give 10 stars if possible! read more

Our AC started going out around 8pm this past Saturday night. It's August and the highs this weekend were 100+ degrees, so the house started to warm up fast. We didn't think we would be able to have anyone come out on such short notice, but we were desperate and didn't like the idea of having to check in to a hotel. We called around to a few places first and either received a "sorry, we're booked" or no answer at all. Sam's had an on call technician, Marcus, that spoke to my husband over the phone and walked him through some troubleshooting. When they ruled out is was something that we couldn't fix ourselves, Marcus was at our house within 30 minutes. He immediately identified the issue and even had the part on hand to replace it! We couldn't have been happier with his level of customer service and his timeliness. read more

It's 99 degrees out with 60% humidity. You come home from work to find your pets glaring at you, tongues hanging out. The A/C has decided that it needs a vacation. We called Samm's and they had Marcus out there within hours of our call. He made quick, efficient repairs that gave our old unit a needed boost and an electric pina colada. Within a half hour of him finishing our upstairs temperature had dropped from sauna to survivable and our pets were speaking to us again. I was very pleased with his level of expertise as well as his friendly demeanor. The price was reasonable consider the parts involved and his labor. This repair will enable us to survive the rest of the summer until we can replace the unit in the next few months. I would recommend Samm's and Marcus M. in particular. read more

update: I just want to reaffirm my previous review. as part of the maintenance plan that I signed up for, they come out twice a year and perform maintenance. once on the heater and once a year on the A/C. yesterday Tim came out to clean up our heater. That kid! he is so awesome. so knowledgeable and trustworthy and clean and thorough. just everything that you want from a service tech. I called the office and asked them to put a note in my file so that I can get Tim everytime! the negative reviews that I see on yelp for Samm's just blow my mind. I have used them for years, so my experience is no fluke. they are just awesome. in a business that can often be dishonest, I trust Samm's and find them to be affordable and stupendous! read more

When does reasonable cost and predatory price gouging come into effect? I would say when you are charged $831. for a part that runs about $100 and it takes less than 2 hours to install! Beware of Samm's as this is what I got. A new motor for the outside unit which costs online about $100. Even if they doubled the price of this unit that means they are collecting $315.50 per hour labor? That to me is predatory! I emailed the company earlier today and the owner emailed me back with a very futile explanation of their charges. He also personally attacked me for not being able to keep a service agreement after I was out of work 7 months due to having triple by pass surgery! I would stay away from this place. Stay far far away! read more
