The party room was perfect for our group of 16 people with 2 strollers. There were plenty of high chairs and a coat rack. The buffet table was small but surprisingly great. The cooked stews were so flavorful and kept me wanting to go back for more which seems rare for a buffet. Most of the meats were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Really loved the course salt that's sprinkled on top of the meats. It gave it the extra touch. The picanha was great! The beef rib at the end was my favorite. It was a def fun experience for me and my party. It is a local place, we came in a few minutes after they opened and there was already a huge party of people inside. As we were being served, more and more people walked in to eat. For the price, it was totally worth it. The meats were brought out periodically according to what is on the menu. Compared to Fogo de Chão, there was def a few differences to note. I'm not keen on salty meat, so I'm forever happy that most of the meats here weren't like rubbed into salt or etc. The cold salads and toppings can be found on the bar. I loved that there was a beet salad which I absolutely devoured. We ordered a large pitcher of their signature cocktail and it was sooo strong. I def would come back here again! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I enjoyed Fogo de Chao and was curious how this local Brazilian barbecue spot would compare. Overall, great food and great service for a great price! We came with a group of 20 and got to use the party room in the back, which offered a sense of separation from the main dining area. The various salad bar items were each tasty and had their own unique place in the spread. It tasted simple and family-cooked (in a good way). The beef stroganoff was heavenly! Most of the meats were good quality cuts that were tender and seasoned well with decent grill/char. Very enjoyable. However, the pork loin was on the leaner side. I appreciated the coarse finishing salt used on some of the cuts, which enhanced them with a nice kick of flavor. The drinks were tasty, well mixed and not too sweet. The caipirinha was well balanced and reminded me of a poolside vacation I had. Waitstaff was friendly and the premises looked clean all over. The self-serve salad bar area was very clean as well! Really excellent AYCE dining experience! Cozy spot that feels like a good neighborhood/local hang. Great value for the price as well. I love a Brazilian steakhouse, and this didn't disappoint. While it didn't have as extensive of a salad bar as a Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil, the quality of the meats were up to par, if not better than those higher priced places. I loved all the beef they had, their picanha, tri tip steak, fraudinha, and baby beef were especially delicious. Star of the night was their grilled pineapple. The first cut of it, after its cinnamon sugar crust had been roasting in the oven, was delicious. Their service was also excellent. We were in search of cocktails with our AYCE BBQ and were pleasantly surprised to find this little spot. Although the place looked rather small with tables quite close to each other, their drink menu was enticing. Needless to say, we grabbed a few drinks, said yes to every cut of meat offered to us, and ate to our heart's content. Sadly, no photos of the food were taken before they were eaten. Above all was the bartender who personally came over to ask us our opinions of the drinks and tailored each drink to our taste. Samba BBQ is a welcome surprise in Flushing! A Brazilian Churrasqueira in the middle of all the Korean BBQ restaurants along Northern Blvd is a refreshing change. It's not as big as some of the chains, but they are more intimate and for $40, it's not bad. We arrived just before 9pm to catch the tail end of dinner and we were one of 4 parties and the group to leave, but they kept serving us as long as we wanted more grilled meats. There is also a small salad bar and hot food bar, which was not replenished since it was towards the end of the night, but we started with plates from there. Some DIY Caesar Salad, potato salad, white & fried rice, grilled veggies, meatballs, beef stroganoff, chicken stew and I took the second to last chicken wing. The last one did not look too good. We did get cheese bread balls on the table though and a carafe of Brazilian Limonata. It's very informal and you don't have to use the go/no-go (green/red) tags like at other rodizios. The meat parade just keeps coming as long as you want. Since there were limited amount of customers, many of the meats were portioned just for us, being served on a cast iron plate for us to choose. We started Portuguese Sausage & Pork Belly served on a spit, Chimichurri Beef & Lemongrass Pork Chop. The Pork Chop was Vietnamese marinated style and very tasty. The next 2 were our favorites, Picanha Top Sirloin in the familiar C-shape on the spit with the fat cap on top and a whole Tri-TipRibeye sliced on the spit. We requested an encore serving of both of those. All meats with the exception of the marinated meats are seasoned with rock salt on the rodizio grill, but not as salty as at other places, so the taste of the meat shined through. It's homey and personal and delicious - better than Fogo de Chao. The selection is smaller but I found every meat and side to be superb. The pork chop was heavenly. Try the cinnamon sugar grilled pineapple! Their chimichurri sauce tastes homemade and their Brazilian hot sauce can be eaten with anything here. Update: A group of us went and I got other critiques. I'm not a big steak person and I've never had Brazilian BBQ, so I was convinced to try Samba BBQ due to the great value of AYCE $40pp compared to much higher Manhattan prices. There was a rotation of around 8-9 meat options when I went on a Saturday afternoon. The cook ranged from medium to well-done, so some meats were either a bit chewy or too dry. The first round of non-repeated meats came out quickly (not sure if it was because there were only 2 tables here at the time), and some pieces were quite large. I would have preferred to only get small pieces so I can figure out which ones I like before getting too full. My favorite pieces were the pork chops and the grilled chicken. These pieces were consistently good throughout the rotations. There is also a salad and hot foods section for you to change up your palate in between meat pieces. Samba BBQ is a lovely addition to the area - unassuming from the outside but super cozy and inviting once you are inside. We came in between lunch and dinner on a Sunday and upon getting seated, we were instructed to help ourselves to the hot/cold buffet bar. Everything was freshly stocked and I couldn't help but try a little bit of everything although I would recommend being strategic here in order to get your money's worth of unlimited bbq :) as soon as we were back at the table, the bbq meats came out... the pace was super fast for me as we were the only table for a bit and I didn't have any more room on my plate. You could tell the meats are high quality and well seasoned, our favorite was the chimichurri steak and we asked for seconds. The owner is so also super friendly and kept coming by to check how we were doing and refilling our bread baskets and sauces. I've been to this place for 2 weekends in a row. The salad bar is great; the pickled onions are my favorite. It's a small place, and it seems to be slightly understaffed on the weekend. The drinks took a bit long to come out, but they didn't sacrifice on the quality of the meats and drinks. The owner, who was watching the bar and running back and forth, really cares about the place. Often asking how the patrons are and helping run the operation. It's a diamond in the rough that will get better. We'll be back for many more meat binges. read more

I have been meaning to try Samba for some time. I really loved Mokja the previous restaurant, and didn't want to say farewell to their most excellent margarita pizza with fresh basil and mozzarella. Big shoes to fill. Firstly, I'm so happy they preserved the antiquity of the charming bar section with the Tiffany lights, tin ceiling, antique signs, and that stunning and expansive, solid wood bar. All nostalgic treasures from years past. The bar itself is a great place to just have drinks and a small snack like a delicious choripán in a vintage pub setting. Either way, I finally dined at Samba and was really delighted with the new concept. I found out that the owners have roots in Brazil so this is really a labor of love and an effort to share authentic Brazilian food with our community. I wish I had taken better food pictures but in truth I was too busy enjoying the generous offerings as they emerged fresh off the grill. Highlights were the picanha, sausage, pork belly, chicken hearts, and baby beef. The meat was perfectly seasoned and had that perfect chargrilled barbecue flavor. It is also a fun food experience anticipating the passadores coming out with the skewers and slicing juicy cuts right onto your heaping plate. I loved the salad bar which had so many amazing additional dishes. Highlights were the carnitas, feijoada (black beans and sausage, Brazil's national dish), the bolinhos de arroz (fried rice and cheese croquette balls), pão de queijo, and beef stroganoff. The condiments were also amazing and I topped each bite with either the beautiful vibrant hot sauce, the adorable little spicy preserved red chilis in oil, pickled onions, or chimichurri. They all tasted homemade. The staff were all thoughtful and really make you feel like part of the family. They're doting and care about your experience here. The owners are there hustling too and have a great presence there, like the very best mom-and-pop establishments. It is a more personal and intimate experience, versus other places where they're more hands-off or nowhere to be found. Otherwise the Brazilian bartender was super lovely, and I was also so happy to see the OG manager was still there helping run the show. His kindness makes my day! It is a sumptuous meal and a steal at $39.95 a person (kids are discounted). They also had $5 beers and $10 caipirinhas when I went although I didn't drink. I've been to quite a few churrascarias and this one stands out for their hospitality and warmth, in addition to their exceptional food. The buffet was solid if not spectacular like the aforementioned bigger names, but when I went with my family, they did have a simple selection of salads and some cooked food - alas, nothing there that I HAD to go back up for seconds really. But you don't go here for the buffet, you come for the meats. While they didn't have a constant rotation of meats like they do at other churrascarias, they do a rotation and then ask if there's any cuts you would like more of.
