I trusted Care A Lot and had been there many times with no problems. My regular groomer wasn't available so I assumed the one offered to me was competent and I left my 65 lb fur baby. Within an hour I received a phone call saying she was ready. Her service could not be completed and she could be picked up. I was puzzled because her groomings usually took much longer. I saw her. I was stunned. He'd completed almost everything, shaving her down to the skin but left the crown of her head, a small thin patch of hair under her bottom lip and a 70's "bush"on her genitals and anus. It was like a cruel and perverse joke. A parody. I'm concerned she may have been a victim of zoophilia. My five year old granddaughter kept asking why the dog had hair "there" It was nasty. I have no doubt that this was intentional as Josiah seemed impatient when I brought her in, by the way, I use a walker and he was very rude to me as I struggled. I would never trust Care A Lot again, not even with a rat. They were the best. They need to start vetting their people. It was like a dirty sex joke. I'm almost 70 years old. I'm horrified, humiliated and heartbroken. I feel violated for myself and anyone seeing my poor dog. And perhaps Josiah should be required to be on on some type of registry or something.

We had worked on getting him in for months, paid extra for shots that other daycare places don't require, passed their temperament test, raced to call in and reserve daycare - that is, if we weren't put on the waiting list. I was made aware of their strict policy of dogs acting out: One strike and you're out. It was also his first day there and I can only imagine that my dog was feeling anxious on his first day as some children or normal people would be at their first day at anything. I'm also disappointed in hearing how they handled my dog. He's been going to doggy daycare since he was a puppy, has worked this multiple dog trainers throughout the years, and not once have I heard professionals grab dogs by their collar in the middle of a fight. We were taught by our trainers and past doggy daycare centers not to do that. This is extremely unfortunate because our dog's vet is right next door and now we'll have to explore a further option for us. I only recommend this place if you're interested in spending weeks to fulfill their requirements, pay for additional shots, fight every week to be that "special caller" that'll be granted daycare (you can only reserve a week in advance - if you're lucky), and cross your fingers that your dog doesn't get hit with the "one strike and you're out" policy. Oh, and also be fine with workers that resort to pulling a dog's collar in the middle of a fight. Just a tip, one of our dog's last daycare places used bitter apple spray before resorting to touching the dogs.

Update: fast forward several years, and they still provide exceptional service. I now have a 15 week old Shih Tzu puppy that came for a puppy grooming. I had a negative experience at another facility where my puppy got a trim around her eyes, and I was told my puppy was "very bad, worse than other puppies and was biting the staff aggressively." I informed Erin, Ashley, and the other team members here that my puppy Harley had been labeled as a biter. They reassured me that they would take good care of her. An hour and a half later, I got a call that they were done, and that Harley was sweet and well-behaved. After her services were completed, they even had her sitting out with them in the grooming area, rather than in the kennel and had no problems. So happy with the grooming team here!
