Every time I drop her off she is running back in forth in my car with excitement bc she loves playing all day! We also adopted another puppy and she had been going here as well since she was 4 months! All of the workers know my dogs by their first name, and dropping them off is easy as can be! I love watching them play while looking at their cameras in the lobby! By the time they are picked up when I get off of work, they are out in the back seat! The rest of the evening they are asleep on the couch from playing all day! We have also boarded both a few times and have had no complaints! They eat all of their food, and if they weren't they would call me! We love Great Neck and wouldn't take our pups anywhere else. They are comfortable here and that's all that matters even though it's about a 30 minute drive out of the way from work...

I…read moresaw one young man hit a brindle dog today in the face and then yell at him to not bite him afterwards. It just always feels like an unfair bite report waiting to happen. I have seen a dog have a very loose bowel movement and while the person in the yard saw it and took their time to clean it up, another dog ate it. What if the dog with the loose stool had Giardia or something else that was highly contagious? I know sometimes this is probably unavoidable but the gentleman saw the dog squat, and then slowly walked towards the dog, and when the other dog ate it, the gentleman was standing over the scene of the crime. He could have picked it up in time. I have a video of one of the previous workers screaming at a dog for standing on his hind legs while looking over the fence at the other dogs, and then grabbing it by the collar and violently ripping it off of the fence and down to the ground where she lost control of him and almost fell herself due to the force with which she ripped him down. What if that dog had bitten her? It would have been treated as if it was the dog's fault and not the clear abuse of the animals that goes on there. The turnover rate is SO high. I don't think I've ever seen an employee there more than a few weeks. Everyone I work with agrees that they would also never take their babies there, which is unfortunate because it would be so convenient. I think their staff to dogs ratio is very off, which probably makes the employees very overwhelmed. Again, I urge you to find anywhere else. It's heartbreaking that people trust them with their pets and they are treated terribly while they're there. I would be so upset if a dog bit someone and the owners not be informed that it wasn't their dog's fault, but the treatment they received causing them to fight back.

Their facility is more welcoming and they listen to you much better than those overpriced hotels with luxury decorated "homes" for your pet. Don't let the cute colors of the newer facilities fool you like I did. Las Gaviotas Pet Hotel is a family run facility full of love and support for our doggy son. I was so nervous but Krista was so welcoming and is practically an expert at interpreting dog behavior. I loved that we were able to do a meet and greet before my pups stay. She introduced her wonderful dogs to our dog and quickly determined our pup would be a good fit. She gave us a tour of the the dog ranch which was impressive. I was relieved my pup would have is own large temperature controlled room to sleep in. Their dog ranch is very organized, they have an excellent system in place and routine for the dogs, lots of play time! I love that the dogs can all play outside, and that I was sent pictures of my happy dog daily. When our stay was prolonged one day, Krista accomodated us and our pup was able to stay an extra night, I would recommend bringing extra dog food in case you may return a day later than anticipated. I liked that we were able to bring our pups kennel that he loves to sleep in and his bedding. My dog has some anxiety so Krista recommended bringing boiled chicken and rice in case he didn't want to eat, that was a great idea and I love that they have a fridge to keep pets food as well. I would definitely recommend Ballypines dog ranch to anyone who wants their pet to be well cared for. It was good to not be stressed about my pups stay away from us, I completely trust them with caring for my dog. I also like that they require dogs to have all shots including the flu vaccine, bordetella vaccine and a recent fecal/stool test. In this regard it may cost more than other dog boarding facilities (that's because this is nothing like your typically dog boarding facility ) and is definitely worth it so you know your dog is less likely to get sick during their stay. My pup was so tired for two days after he returned home because he had a blast playing all day! We are looking forward to his next stay!

There isn't anything terribly bad about this business nor is there anything outstanding. They have a small little business located on 21st Street right before you turn onto Hampton Blvd. You may easily drive right past it unless you notice the multicolor drawings on the outside of their building. They offer half day (5 hrs or less) or full day (5 hrs or more) of care. You can buy "bulk" orders which will help you save some money. They aren't terribly expensive relative to the other places around here and the people there are very nice. My dog seems to enjoy the play style there as he is always dragging me towards the door which I presume to be a good indication of the "fun" he gets there. However, I have to mention that on several occasions, my pup came back with bite marks on his face, clumps of missing hair and a bleeding ear. They helped me clean off the ear when I picked him up and there didn't seem to be any lasting damage to the dog. I don't have a whole lot of experience with doggie daycare so I can't really do a comparison. They will feed your dog if you provide the food and instructions at no extra cost and you can make reservations by calling or emailing them. You do have to bring your dog in for an assessment. This means they are trying to see if your dog is aggressive and plays well with others. It takes about an hour and basically they just put your dog in with the others to see how they play. They also have a tiny room in front for smaller dogs/puppies. No, they do not board dogs.
