My first dog was a rescue and went through training with Lisa Marie, who did an excellent job. He ended up attending daycare almost every weekday of his life until he passed in 2022 at the age of 18. To this day I attribute his long life to the love (and the activity) that he was given by the staff at Four Paws on a daily basis. Since his passing I got a new puppy that has been attending daycare every weekday as well. She can't wait to go every day, and rushes to the front door when we arrive in the morning. You know that you are at a great place for your dog when the staff is as excited to see the dog as much as your dog is excited to see them. The prices at Four Paws are very reasonable, especially compared to other options nearby. I have temporarily tried other facilities (mostly due to the pandemic), but none stand up to the level of Four Paws. I've recommended them to other dog owners I know and they are now regular daycare attendees as well. If you bring your dogs to Four Paws both you and your dogs will not be disappointed!

I love watching them play while looking at their cameras in the lobby! By the time they are picked up when I get off of work, they are out in the back seat! The rest of the evening they are asleep on the couch from playing all day! We have also boarded both a few times and have had no complaints! They eat all of their food, and if they weren't they would call me! We love Great Neck and wouldn't take our pups anywhere else. They are comfortable here and that's all that matters even though it's about a 30 minute drive out of the way from work...

I…read moresaw one young man hit a brindle dog today in the face and then yell at him to not bite him afterwards. It just always feels like an unfair bite report waiting to happen. I have seen a dog have a very loose bowel movement and while the person in the yard saw it and took their time to clean it up, another dog ate it. What if the dog with the loose stool had Giardia or something else that was highly contagious? I know sometimes this is probably unavoidable but the gentleman saw the dog squat, and then slowly walked towards the dog, and when the other dog ate it, the gentleman was standing over the scene of the crime. He could have picked it up in time. I have a video of one of the previous workers screaming at a dog for standing on his hind legs while looking over the fence at the other dogs, and then grabbing it by the collar and violently ripping it off of the fence and down to the ground where she lost control of him and almost fell herself due to the force with which she ripped him down. What if that dog had bitten her? It would have been treated as if it was the dog's fault and not the clear abuse of the animals that goes on there. The turnover rate is SO high. I don't think I've ever seen an employee there more than a few weeks. Everyone I work with agrees that they would also never take their babies there, which is unfortunate because it would be so convenient. I think their staff to dogs ratio is very off, which probably makes the employees very overwhelmed. Again, I urge you to find anywhere else. It's heartbreaking that people trust them with their pets and they are treated terribly while they're there. I would be so upset if a dog bit someone and the owners not be informed that it wasn't their dog's fault, but the treatment they received causing them to fight back.

I try to get our pup there at least once a week for day care, but this past weekend we boarded him for the first time. They have luxury state rooms that include a complimentary basic bath, play time, and room service! The staff is always friendly and greet us with respect/smiles each time. My pup loves going to daycare and is excited right when we pull into the parking lot. I've never had any issues with our pup getting sick or coming home with markings from other dogs. I love that the Ruff House conduct temperament tests to see if a dog is ready for group play.

I brought my pups in after being told not to call before brining them, and once I got there she was extremely rude telling me there's no AC (and she told her boss the temperature was climbing and climbing) and she has something to do at 5 (even though they close at 7pm because it ALWAYS revolves around that one girls schedule no matter what the hours are making it hard to make time to go there), so I have to be back by then which she very rudely repeated multiple times even though I said that was fine. I offered to bring my dogs back with me MULTIPLE times as I was uncomfortable leaving them in no AC and she INSISTED I leave them there because her boss was there and she didn't want to look bad not accepting dogs. So I reluctantly left my poor babies there with no AC, and I get a call not even two minutes later saying my dog was ATTACKING her dogs (which my dog has NEVER attacked another dog). I was like of course (after how rude she was that morning i figured she needed an excuse not to take my dogs) , and I IMMEDIATELY turn around and grab my pups (which I didn't want to leave them with them anyway so I was sort of relieved) she was extremely rude when I picked them up at this point ruder than she was when I dropped them off and I had something to do that morning which is why I dropped them off and she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to get me to come back in that place with her after my dogs were all loaded into my car for me to pick them up. And as I said I had something to do so I quickly left (I also honestly just wanted to get away from this lady at this point due to her rude treatment) so I quickly got in my car and went home. I got home and received a TEXT from this woman who took it upon herself to get my contact information and text me. I explained to her I wasn't comfortable talking to her unless the other dog needed medical attention (which it didn't she was just texting me) and she sent me the video of my dog "attacking" another dog. (I should've added when I picked her up she told me she had to run back there and rip my dog of her dogs neck, but when I asked for that part of the video she admits that didn't happen) The video she sent of my dog "attacking" hers is my dog running at a dog wagging her tail trying to play while this other dog was scared trying to run away (I'm not sure if that dog was scared of other dogs or what) I told her I didn't see her attacking the other dog I told her I saw her trying to play and the other dog not wanting to. I sent the video to multiple people experienced in dog behavior/training and they said that radar was simply trying to play and the other dog was just scared. The worker continued to text me telling me she was going blast it all over Facebook and kept calling me"honey" sarcastically instead of professionally using my name. I told her to stop harassing/bullying me and being so unprofessional, and she said she was very professional (lol okay lady that runs a doggy day care in the back of an appliance store). I wish I had the owners contact information or something because that was honestly the most unprofessional experience I've had with a business in my life even If my dog did "attack" the other dog, it was still very unprofessionally handled and I hope they find someone more professional to run the place that can be there during business hours and isn't constantly breaking the AC.

Stacey groomed Cannoli over a year ago but at a different location in Newport News. Once I knew she worked at D.O.G. D&S, there was no hesitation on my part to drive 45mins to groom them there. So, you know that uneasy feeling when you drop off your dog, maybe even cross your fingers hoping they look decent when you pick them up. Well, you won't get that feeling here. Stacey has the golden touch - no choppy haircuts here. I loved watching Cannoli run down the hallway, prancing and smiling looking all nice and pretty when I pick her up. I could tell Cannoli likes her haircut too. Unlike, my other lil puppy, Vino, not so much. He likes looking like a mop head. This is the first time Stacey cut Vino's hair. I wanted a mohawk and I LOVE-LOVE how it turned out (even my husband loved it). Vino looks so handsome! I wanted it blue but he won't sit still for her (and that's thanks to my husband, he loves blowing in his face to play fight with him) I have wanted a Mohawk on Vino for awhile now but I didn't trust anyone except for Stacey. I'm so happy and relieved to have found her again. Here is my earlier Yelp Review from the first time I went to Stacey (Edited Version): My Havanese, Cannoli, is very squeamish about going to the groomer. However, this is the very first time she wasn't barking or crouching down when I drop her off or pick her up. She looks so happy and was even playful when I picked her up - that has NEVER happen at a grooming salon. She obviously approves of Stacey. My biggest regret is not coming here sooner. I went to two other groomers locally and a few more in VB and they weren't the best cuts. I felt so at ease as soon as I walked in. I described the cut I wanted and even brought a picture of the cut. She told me she would be ready in a couple hours, and sure enough less then 2 hours later I got the call. I been to plenty of groomers here and in Chicago and I could say I've never had such faster service; most groomers usually give a big window of 4-6 hours. When I arrived she looked perfect!! The cut didn't look exactly like the picture but Stacey went on to explain how the cut wasn't for a Havenese and she did tailor her cut for Havanese features. -------- I can't say much about D.O.G. Daycare except the facility looks and smells super clean. We've only been there for grooming services. I've have met the ladies at front desk and both were very polite and friendly.

I was advised she would call the next day. Did not call until 2 days later left a message stating she had an opening the next day and to call back, I called no one answered left a msg. Groomer called back stating appt had been filled and could not take him until Oct. Totally unacceptable. Will never be back which I sure they can care less with this type of business practice and attituted of the groomer.
