We had prior arrangements with a boarding facility in Smithfield but the circumstances of one of our dogs had changed a bit and she needed additional medical attention.. before i could even let them know what she needed done they responded with "nope we can't do that".. I walked out of there feeling disappointed with that facility . I cancelled that reservation and now we were frantic because we didn't have alot of time before our cruise. I googled boarding facilities in the area and "Home Away from Home" popped up.. never heard of them but thats where we went!! the moment i opened the door to the facility.. i felt welcomed by Kathy !! We explained our situation in depth and without hesitation, they said yes.. whatever it is we can do it! If i tell you.. I legit started crying!! I asked Kathy before i left if i could hug her because she literally saved our vacation!! They took such great care of our babies we were able to enjoy our vacation. Kathy and the staff at Home Away from Home were so accommodating. I would highly recommend this facility for your boarding needs and i wouldn't hesitate to board our babies there again!! I adopted a 18 lb rescue Terrier Mix and was not prepared for keeping her home during the work days for two weeks while her vaccines kicked in. Amy jumped in to help. She is flexible to assist with last minute schedule changes. Being military, I appreciated Amy's military family background because she understands my unique challenges and also can get on base with no problem. She even brought a harness when my little escape artist needed it. I trust her completely and am bummed she won't be going with us when we move in January. My puppy loves her, too, and can't wait for Miss Amy to visit!

The vet was checking her out and discovered a bleeding puncture wound on her back (picture is after being cleaned by vet). I contacted Dashing Dogs to find out why/how it happened. They had no idea. The people working said they didn't see or hear anything while she was there indicating the dogs were not being watched as promised. While they did say they were sorry it happened, they accepted no responsibility. I am just posting this is a word of caution. There is no screening process for deciding if dogs are aggressive and should be with the other dogs. I would be careful leaving your dog there!

Took my pit bull mix here for an all day daycare while I was at work. It was her first actual day…read more(aside from the temperament test which I was told she did fine) and was told that my dog was being an instigator with another small dog, which I understand because she can play rough, and that she had her ears pinned back (as a pit bull she always has her ears relaxed which is pinned back, giving them that seal look which can be seen as an example in the photos) and that she was "not a good fit for them." I asked why they had small dogs with the bigger dogs and was told "the small dogs are too rambunctious to be with the other small dogs." I was told that staff had to break up my dog and the small dog and she was put into a kennel for the rest of the day but the dogs had never gotten physical. I pick my dog up and she has scratches and bite marks on her tummy and no one had called and told me. I called them and they said that they had no idea but that my dog was still welcome to come back. Never coming back here again.
