Nine years later, and TDW is still the standard by which I judge all dog walkers. They were with us in our days of four dogs, then three dogs and a baby (RIP Butter), then two dogs and two babies (Isabel frolicking with her sister at the Rainbow Bridge), and many, many foster pups & kitties. Thru it all (and our crazy two career chaos) they rolled with the punches and took care of the fur-babies. We've been gone two years now, but we still keep in touch with the TDW crew. Absolutely recommend TDW to care for your loved ones like their own. read more

UPDATE: We moved back to the area and were thrilled to have Amy pick up where we left off. She continues to be amazing. Because of my telework schedule, I've been home when she comes to get my girl for her walk. My pup starts looking at the door and whining about 30 minutes before her arrival and goes crazy when she sees her buddy. I am so grateful I have someone trustworthy and fur baby approved for my girl. Amy is amazing! I adopted a 18 lb rescue Terrier Mix and was not prepared for keeping her home during the work days for two weeks while her vaccines kicked in. Amy jumped in to help. She is flexible to assist with last minute schedule changes. Being military, I appreciated Amy's military family background because she understands my unique challenges and also can get on base with no problem. She even brought a harness when my little escape artist needed it. I trust her completely and am bummed she won't be going with us when we move in January. My puppy loves her, too, and can't wait for Miss Amy to visit! read more

Top Dog Walk is, hands down, the single best dog walking company I have ever encountered. I used Top Dog Walk from June of 2009 through the end of the year, when I was no longer in their service area. Dana and Vijay took amazing care of my miniature dachshund, who utterly adored them. They are the masters at communication and customer sanctification. They were reliable and consistent in a way few other dog walkers are. When my life got complicated, they were flexible and innovative in making sure my dog got what he needed. I loved that I could actually see my dog being walked each day, via their Twitter updates. I was able to collect a series of adorable puppy photos through their walks and my out-of-town family (equally dog obsessed) followed the Hound on twitter as well. I knew that my dog was getting the exercise I was paying for and their comment cards made it very clear they knew my dog's 'personality.' I can't say enough good things about them. Almost two years after leaving the Tidewater area, I regularly repeat that the only things I miss are Top Dog Walk and Wawa. read more

Amy-Top Dog Walk Amy is awesome and came to visit our 3 dogs and spent an hour getting to know them. She knew each dog had totally different personalities and even won over our Rat Terrier who is very hard to read. We had her come over a few times before our trip and the dogs totally accepted her. Our son was working during the days and Amy kept in touch with him. She left him notes and was very flexible when his schedule changed. We love Amy and look forward to using her in the future. Our 3 dogs gave Amy 4 PAWS! read more

I tried Top Dog Walk over a year ago, and it's been great having them around ever since. Dealing with a tunnel to and from work I can have peace of mind, even when traffic is impossible. Their ability to be flexible, due to changing schedules makes them very convenient. A report card is left behind, in order to let you know the details of your furry child's walk. When able, they tweet a pic of the walk, which I love. Most importantly, Dana and Vijay, Top Dog owners, always make themselves available for questions/comments. All in all, its a great service-reliable, trustworthy and they leave behind a happy dog. Highly recommend! read more

I found Top Dog Walk on Yelp about a year ago, after my dog's stays at a kennel left her stressed out, with an unhappy belly. I wanted to find a dog-walking service that would give me peace of mind and -- more importantly -- take good care of my pup. Top Dog Walk has lived up to that and more! Now, when I get home from being out of town, Gracie is happy and well-rested. She gets to sleep in her own house and gets to go on nice long walks with the Top Dog Walk crew. They leave a report card so I know her behavior/potty trips when I get home. (And the occasional photo on @topdogwalk's Instagram makes my day!) I'm an over-planner so I often book months in advance but Dana is patient with my texts a few days before my departure, re-confirming the dog walkers' schedule. I really appreciate that peace of mind. Bottom line: I'm so thankful I found Top Dog Walk! No longer do I worry about Gracie's health and happiness when we go out of town. read more

Highly recommend Top Dog Walk! Amy and her team are great! They are trustworthy and reliable, they took good care of my 2 big dogs while we had getaways and helped us with walking Ace who needs lots of exercise. Wish we could still use them in Virginia Beach but understand why the commute is not feasible. If you need a petsitter/dogwalker in Norfolk they are definitely a great company to hire read more

Our dogs are like furry kids to us, and we are very selective about who we trust to take care of them when we can't be home. Amy and Top Dog Walk have been simply wonderful. We know we can depend on them whether our pups need a mid-day walk during the work week or extra TLC when we are out of town. Scheduling and communication is top notch as well. If you are looking for someone who will love your pets as much as you do, then we highly recommend Top Dog Walk! read more

Top Dog Walk is a great service. Always available to walk my dog, even last minute when something comes up and I need help. My dog is always tired and happy after a visit. I love the report cards they leave, telling you what happened on the walk. i highly recommend this service to any dog people out there! read more

We love using TDW for our soon-to-be 5 year old Boxer. Tucker is not always great with other dogs and has separation anxiety, so we have issues boarding him when we go out of town. We've found it to be so much easier to leave him at home and have the team at TDW come 3-4 x a day to let him out and play with him; he is so much calmer when we come home vs if we pick him up at a boarders! We also love that Dana is so ready to give us updates, especially to a worried dog-mama like me! She is always patient and we love the pictures she sends us when we request them. Tucker has a list of high-maintenance-ness that TDW always follows! THey are also great with last minute requests, though we try not to do that to them unless it's an emergency. One thing I'd really love is if repeat customers such as myself could have some type of discount or rewards program for frequent visits. Thank you TDW, for taking good care of my fur-baby! read more

We used Top Dog for several years while living in Norfolk. Our dogs loved the walkers. While at work, you can check on your dogs via Top Dog's posts to Twitter and Loopt. A great service. read more

We used to take our dog to a kennel when we left town -- never again!! A few years ago we had to take a last-minute weekend trip and weren't able to find a kennel in the area with availability for our dog Zoey, a black lab / pit mix. So I contacted Top Dog Walk and they quickly set up a meet-and-greet with one of their walkers, who instantly connected with Zoey. When we returned, we found a "report card" left at each visit to let us know how Zoey behaved on the walk (she chased a squirrel, rolled in the grass, etc) and that she got a belly rub after her meal :) We've used Top Dog Walk ever since and are so happy we found them!!! read more

I really can't say enough good about Top Dog Walk. We are very particular about who we allow to care for our dogs and they have never been boarded before. I love the peace of mind I have knowing that the dogs are well cared for in our own home when we can't be there. Admittedly, I can be a little anxious about about them and the staff has been incredibly gracious with fielding my questions and making sure that everything is just right. Their attention to detail and integrity is unparalleled. read more

I literally can't say enough good things about Top Dog Walk!! We lived in the area for about 2 years. About a month after we moved to town - with literally no friends/family in the area - we got a puppy. Sweet as could be, but super high energy and in need of a lot of attention/training. The timing was admittedly NOT ideal - my husband was away on business for about 2 months, so it was just me (with a full time job) and the un-housebroken puppy until he came home. In hindsight, this was NOT our smartest idea, but Top Dog Walk literally saved the day. I contacted TDW about a week before we brought our puppy home. Sharon responded very quickly and was super friendly as we scheduled her meet-and-greet - conveniently after work and at our house - for a couple of days after we brought our Pinto home. I remember Pinto being terrified of everyone at that stage, but when Sharon came to meet us, she took her time allowing Pinto to get used to her so she wouldn't be too scared. We discussed needing TDW's services almost every day for the time my husband would be gone, and Sharon assured us it would be no problem and that they would take great care of Pinto. Sharon delivered in epic proportions. Our timid little Pinto blossomed in TDW's care during the months they were visiting her daily. We were so impressed by their service that we continued to use them occasionally as needed throughout our time in the area. I repeat - I cannot say enough good things about Sharon and her team. The scheduling process was always super easy through their website, and they were even able to accommodate last minute requests via phone/text. They come to your home, love up on your dog in half- or full-hour increments (depending upon your request) with walks, indoor play, belly rubs, treats, etc. and then post a picture of your fur-baby on Instagram. They leave a "report card" telling you about the session, and then they leave like little elves, almost as if they were never there, except that the dog is all tuckered out (woo-hoo!). This is not the cheapest of these types of services in the area, however, their professionalism is worth every penny. Remember, these people have copies of your house key, so they need to be trustworthy - and these guys definitely are. TDW was ALWAYS professional. Never once did they forget an appointment or forget to lock the door when they left. I have raved to so many dog owners about how great these guys are. Try them. You will not be disappointed. My only regret is that we no longer live there to use their services!! read more

They are fantastic!!! The owners are great and they have a very reliable and responsible team of dog walkers. I love seeing the pictures of the dogs enjoying their walks when I'm at work. Sometimes the kitties even make an appearance! I come home to happy pups and no accidents with my long work hours. They are also very accessible if you need to change appointments with short notice. I would strongly recommend them for anyone looking for a dog walker! read more

Top dog came to my rescue recently as I was new to the area and needed care for my English bulldog while on a business trip. They responded right away and came over for a meet and greet. They took care of my dog while I was away plus another personal weekend trip right after. They leave the cutest report card at each visit of what your pet has been up to in your absence. They were really great and I'll use them a lot in the future I'm sure. read more

We have been using Top Dog Walk for nearly a year and they are great! Love their new online scheduling system. They do a great job of summarizing the walk in a report card so we know what our furry friend has been up to. We highly recommend them!!! read more
