Stopped at Saltgrass Steak House on a Friday night for dinner. I definitely recommend calling ahead and making reservations. The staff is very nice and the restaurant has a great look and feel to it. We enjoys several dishes and tried a couple items we wouldn't order again. But I feel like it was just matter of preference on things we didn't enjoy as much. The spinach artichoke dip is amazing! Their house bread is really good! The fried pickles we would pass on - the breading is just thicker than we prefer, but they tasted great. Their salads are good, but the potato soup is really good! The steaks were all great and prepared perfectly to order. The ribs are fall off the bone tender. The fried shrimp had a similar thick batter like the pickles, so maybe I'd get grilled shrimp next time. Their salads Brussels sprouts were really good. The grilled asparagus was okay. The baked potatoes and sweet potato fries were also really good! Unfortunately we didn't have time this trip to try any dessert. So we'll have to come back again! read more

My nephew who had just turned the big 13 had his birthday lunch at Saltgrass Steak House in Lubbock, TX. I don't think it was his choice, but he enjoyed the camaraderie of our large group back in mid September 2025. Helena was our server. She was very friendly and attentive. My complaint was about my chicken fried steak. The steak was deceiving because while it looked huge on my plate, most of the outer edges comprised of thick, greasy batter. The steak was also overcooked, yet, edible. The rest of my entree comprised of green beans which were good, but they could work on their plating. Our party of 10 spent $213.48. Currently, Saltgrass has a policy of "A suggested gratuity of 15%-20% is customary. The amount of gratuity is always discretionary." That's kind of cool. Not my go-to restaurant, but a decent family-oriented sit-down place without long waits. read more

This is a fairly standard version of the steak house chain. Usually the food and service are ok. Today however I sat down at the bar and wished I hadn't. My order was messed up a couple ways. Ultimately serving me an undercooked steak. The bartender/server Renee couldn't care less about me and never asked how I was doing g or if the food was up to far. To not be asked if my steak was cooked correctly was a first at any steakhouse. This was not a good visit and I wish I hadn't come in. read more

Every freaking time I come here lately they are out of prime rib. They only serve it certain nights of the week but then when they do they are always out. It's probably the last time I will ever come here. It's funny roadhouse is never out of prime rib. read more

We just got back from an amazing Thanksgiving dinner! It was above and beyond our expectations Our server, Nadia, was the best! Not stressed, efficient, kept our drinks filled and took time to interact with us. The manager, Julio, was very nice and clearly has that restaurant running smoothly! Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for their cooking and for keeping the kitchen running efficiently under the holiday time! I left my phone at the table, we went in and Julio already had the phone and quickly returned it to me. The food! The salads were excellent especially the strawberry /spinach ! We had the option of soup or salad. Oh my gosh the holiday dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole and cranberry were amazing. The turkey was perfectly cooked! Moist, tender and generous slices. They offered food from their regular menu which was quite a surprise as well The people next to us had the prime rib which looked perfect cooked. Pricing was excellent Under $25 for each dinner. The spinach/strawberry salad was extra but the regular dinner salad was included. We are anxious to return and will be making reservations for their Christmas dinner too! Unfortunately we did not take pictures read more

Placed a to go order at 7:05. Took exactly 1 hour to get me my order. Waited 35 minutes past pickup time and the silly little hostesses up front would just giggle and say, "I don't know what's going on. Sorry but (not sorry!)". Need better management or kitchen efficiency read more

Ordered take out directly from the restaurant on 8/8/2026. Arrived at the restaurant to pick up the food per the time. Waited 30 minutes for the food - was told by the hostess the food was delayed due to large parties in the restaurant. I was not the only person waiting for takeout. Food finally brought out. Took it home (5 minute drive). All the food was cold. It should not have been cold. Pretty sure that means it was made and just sitting. Thanks Saltgrass. read more

Had reservations at 11:45 for 14, but the tables weren't set up. So we waited in the lobby for 10+ minutes. When we were finally seated the waiter asked what beverages we wanted to start. We said water first and foremost. So he hustled off to get 14 ice waters, and carafes. (Water should have been on the table to start with). We were ready to order and while a majority of us ordered just soup and salad, several ordered full entrees. I telephoned the front of the house and asked where our food was at 12:50. Then the manager got involved and things picked up. Several returned their soup because they were lukewarm. Otherwise, as always, the food was delicious. And our server was very nice, just maybe a little overwhelmed. We ended up leaving about 1:45. read more

Service and mgt care was great. Steak $23.00 thin - cooked right but tough.... I expected more.

The food was amazing service was great the manager Mike make sure to take care of us definitely recommend will be back!!

Ordered Chicken fried steak and when I got it it was about the size of an OK sign made with your fingers. The center of the hole it makes is all meat plus it had a lot of crust around it leading you to believe it was an OK size. What a rip off. Called manager and all he said was sorry no comp no nothing. Not gonna try anything else. Thanks but no thanks. If they don't eat what they sell how do they know how it tastes? They need tast it themselves. They wouldn't eat it either. Not going back. read more

This was my very first time eating at Saltgrass Steakhouse and let me just say that this is one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant! The food is fresh and hot and absolutely delicious, Gabby who was our server provided us with the most excellent service, she was very attentive and very informative as well as knowledgeable with the menus. As far as the ambiance, the atmosphere was inviting, welcoming, and for a little while although I knew I was in Texas I had forgotten that we were in Lubbock. I am excited to return to Saltgrass, I just hope every visit will be as wonderful as this first visit of mine! Thank you Gabby for making this such a wonderful experience read more

What an incredible lunch we had! Daniel, our server, was spectacular! Super attentive, funny and just really great service. He knocked it out of the park! Came in for dinner. Service was very prompt and immediate from the time I walked in until the time I walked out. My waitress attending my table checked up on me at least 5-6 times and they were pretty busy inside. I ended up ordering a porterhouse with a baked potato and side salad. Salad was loaded with croutons and fresh and had exact amount of the dressing as you would want. Felt pretty loaded with items to make it very enjoyable. The Steak came out exactly as I ordered it; medium rare and smothered. To be perfectly honest; I wasn't impressed with the "smothered" option. In fact I ended up pushing it to the side and didn't really eat with my steak. Overall steak was cooked and seasoned perfect and enjoyed every bite to the end. The bake potato was loaded with that good butter. The perfectly cooked potato caused the butter to get foamy and melt perfect into the potato making it one of my favorites at a place to eat. Had a Dallas blonde beer with it and enjoyed my visit. I definitely would come back if I visit Lubbock TX again. read more

The food is awesome, no issue there. The prices at this place are through the roof. A sample platter for $40, really? Cheapest steak on the menu is $24?? What the hell happened to this place? Their prices have skyrocketed in the past year or two. It's too the point where is just too expensive to go there anymore. And BTW the service is excellent as well. read more

Absolutely the worst experience my family has ever had at this restaurant, The server took forever to even come to the table to get our drink orders, then we placed our order and it took almost an hour and a half before we received our food which was lukewarm and looked like it had been sitting under the warmer for a bit of time, while all of the servers kept going over to one table to chat with their friend and not checking in on their tables. When we had complained no one took accountability for anything. read more

We have eaten at this location before, and it was always a good place to eat. Tonight, we went with a large group for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We sat in their private room, as we had a fairly large party. From the time we walked in, the service was amazing. The manager greeted us at the door, and they showed us to the room. Reanna and Tosh took amazing care of our group. Took drink orders quickly, and then promptly took all of our food orders. Drinks were refilled quickly, and salads/appetizers come out in just a few minutes. The steaks and other entrees also came out quickly. Cooked perfectly, and served at the right temperature. Desserts were very large portions, but looked amazing. The thing that I have to come back to again is the great service we received. Whether for just a few people, or a large group, this is a great place to eat! read more

I would like to give this place 3.5 stars, but I will round up and give them 4. The service was good. Everything I wanted or needed was taken care of. The server was on it. The steak was OK. I ordered the ribeye. It was thin, but cooked properly. It seemed to have a fake smoke flavor. Just an under current of smoke, but in a bad way. The Mac n cheese was ok. It was creamy, but again there was a fake smoke flavor. The potato soup was not good. It wasn't creamy. It had that fake smoke smell. Do not order this. They gave bread and a sweet butter along with dinner. It was good if it was hot, not as good later on when it cooled. I'm not angry about going here for dinner, but I feel like Texas has better steaks read more
