I ordered the 8 oz Center Cut Top Sirloin with grilled shrimp, a salad, and the Smoked Mac n Cheese. I asked for my steak medium well, and it was cooked perfectly-juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The grilled shrimp were also delicious. The Smoked Mac n Cheese was delicious and creamy. I didn't really taste a smoky flavor, but it was still very good and satisfying. "MY Birthday Treat" I was so excited and delighted to be celebrating one of my birthday meals at this wonderful restaurant. I come and visit and enjoy meals but have not been in a long time. I was greeted by a wonderful hostess and seated in a very quiet area alone. I noticed several servers walking and greeted guest as they waited patiently for their food. My waiter JEFFREY was PERFECTION at it's best. I know you may be wondering how could I rate him so high. Well I make a lot of request and he literally adorned me with every simple request with no hesitation. This was bittersweet and It looked like it was going to be great but unfortunately that was not the case. We came here for Valentine's Day and although it was busy, we did not have to wait for a table at all. Our waiter was really tentative since we had explained that this was our first time here. He must of mentioned it to the manager since they also came out to introduce themselves. The restaurant was wayyyyyyyy bigger than I ever imagined and the decor was great. It had a cowboy cozy cabin vibe going on. The menu was absolutely great, I felt like I could legit pick anything and I would be pleased. Unfortunately my food did not hit the mark, of course I ordered steak but for it being a steakhouse it seemed like I certainly have had better at other chains. I ordered medium well ( yell at me ) but it came out bloody and it must of been a bad cut because it was tough and way fatty. ( I did not get a pic once a cut into it smh ) Our Mac and cheese also came out cold, like it was just taken out the fridge and placed on the dish. This feels like the classic case of mom giving you another chance, and you mess it up again. A few weeks ago, I ordered the Range Rattlers (grilled) from the Saltgrass Steakhouse at 21855 Katy Freeway, Katy, TX 77450. They came out completely charred and, in my opinion, not edible. The manager offered a $15 meal credit or a replacement order, which I truly appreciated. Today, I decided to give them another chance. I used my credit to order the replacement Rattlers...this time they redeemed themselves and were flavorful, hot, and cooked perfectly! Unfortunately, the lunch BBQ Pork Ribs were a complete miss. They were extremely dry, lacked flavor, and no extra BBQ sauce was provided (though honestly, it probably wouldn't have helped much). It's disappointing when a restaurant with such a strong reputation has such inconsistent quality from one visit to the next. I really wanted to love this meal, but Saltgrass Mason Rd & I-10 needs to tighten up its quality control and consistency. read more

The portions were large and there was a lot of variety. Our waitress (Nevaeh) was fantastic. We arrived at the restaurant shortly after 2pm today(Sunday). They were busy but we were seated right away. After about 15 minutes our waiter shows up to get our drink order. Seriously, we were just about ready to get up and walk out. We ordered iced tea and because he was so long in getting to us, we decided to put in our order. Lost confidence that he would get back to us in a timely manner. 10 minutes later we had no tea, no bread and no salad. The manager comes to our table to return our rewards card and we expressed our disappointment. Pretty quickly, we received our tea and bread. Our waiter was very quiet and a bit cold towards us when he brought our tea and bread. I guess he was afraid of getting a bad review. As the meal went forward, he was a bit more hospitable. He was really a nice guy. Maybe he just had too many tables. I will say that our meal was outstanding. I ordered grilled chicken and my husband ordered chopped sirloin with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. We love Saltgrass and have gone to several different locations over the years. The ambiance get be beat. Seldom have I felt the need to give less than a perfect review. We just felt overlooked and forgotten this time. Regardless, my husband left a very generous tip. I've been dining at this location for over 10 years. Very consistent service and decent food. I do believe removing the prime rib was a careless move. Adding back the bacon wrapped quail was the best thing they've done in years. The cheddar Mac and cheese is great. I wouldn't mind if I was still able to order the tenderloin tips. We went there for lunch today and the service was terrible!! It was around 2pm and we were there for an hour and didn't even get our food yet - only drinks. The waitress was indifferent & really didn't care. There were 3 managers there and nobody was able to remedy the situation. Do not Uber Eats any order from SaltGrass. No utensils. I ordered a salad as one of the side. Not here at delivery. I ordered a dessert of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream I cream never made it. My order was delayed by Uber Eats for another stop between the restaurant and my hotel...not the restaurant's fault, but food was cold. Steak was overdone. Sad presentation. I've been coming here for over 25 years. It's sad to see a Landry's chain going down the hill. I've had them pass off cheap cuts of meat to me several times when I order the most expensive fillet. This time was the worst. They didn't even try to make it look like they were bringing out a fillet. The cut was so bad. That you didn't even have to cut into it. All you had to do was smell it. Kevin, the bartender, is very friendly and always provides great service not only to me, but also everyone else at the bar, and it's usually pretty busy. The drinks he makes are always top notch and my food order is quick to arrive, which helps when I'm short on time. The lunch and happy hour menus are great, but especially the bacon wrapped quail. Disappointing meal tonight. I sat at the bar where there appeared to be 2 staff members in trading. - I had to ask for attention ( in mitigation the bar was crowded and noisy) New York strip was cooked just as I like it - medium rare - but had a very firm hard cap that I had to remove and discard. . At $32 I would expected better. Baked sweet potato had obviously been sat somewhere for quite some while- blackened skin in many more places than I would have expected and solid in others. and extremely soft inside - mushy. Asparagus, although thin, was well cooked. Altogether although not up to the restaurants normal standard I decided it was not bad enough to complain or send back - but on a less busy evening I might well have done so.
