Dr. Chen was friendly, kind, and spent extra time answering all of my questions about LASIK. My appointment was for an eye exam and contact lenses, but she still spent time afterward calming my fears about LASIK and explaining to me how I could utilize FSA funds to make it work in the future if I was interested. Stopped in coming back from another shop across the street after not finding any frames that fit there, they greeted me and noticed my glasses frames were damaged and loose and offered to fix them. Of course took them up on their offer so after a very quick spin to the backroom he had them clean, tight and looking like new all over again. Ended up being next to nothing which did take about 10 sec but that's just an indicator of their skill). Anyway, it's just rad to walk into a place and realize there are good people and good places left. Didn't end up buying new glasses here today but you can bet your ass when I need to I'm going to make a point to go out of my way and get them here. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment for my son. The person who scheduled the appointment was negligent and did not save the appointment in their system and double booked the appointment. My son showed up and was turned away. My son called me while at the appointment so that I can confirm that I made the appointment he asked me to speak with person who was turning him away. The person was initially apologetic but when challenged about his negligence and what my son is supposed to do when we cannot accommodate his mistake he became irrational and unwilling to fix his mistake. This was totally unprofessional. He went on to say that customer service works both ways which again proves his inability to be in customer service as the service should be geared towards the customer and not the person who was at fault for not properly booking the appointment. I personally had a good experience with the Doctor when I had tried them out a year ago. But unfortunately due to this person's negligence and poor customer service, I will not be returning to this establishment. There are too many providers that are more than willing to make right their wrongs than for me to be subjected to this kind of behavior. read more

Absolutely a fantastic experience. I cannot say enough positive things about my interaction with Dr. Chen. Really loved my old optometrist but due to insurance restrictions I was forced to look elsewhere. The initial frustration of having to find a new optometrist is in the rear view mirror now and I couldn't be happier. I believed my previous optometrist did a good job (and to an extent they did) but Dr. Chen is on another level with how thorough her exams are. Never felt rushed as we went through several different contact lenses trying to get that perfect prescription. Ended up with two different strengths to trial before I place an order. I am so happy with Dr. Chen and her staff. They are so professional and NICE! I went on the first day they opened amidst this Covid 19 pandemic. Their office adhered to the strictest health standards, taking my temperature twice and having me wash my hands countless of times while everyone, including me, wore a mask. I have not had an eye exam since 2012. (Yikes) and had broken an old contact lens. I usually hate to be remiss with my eye health but Dr. Chen put me at ease with no chastising. I was given a choice of soft lenses versus gas permeable ones. Dr. Chen fitted me with soft lenses to try out and gave me all the information I needed to make a choice. WE LOVE ZIGGY'S OPTOMETRY!!!!! My husband and I looked up this location up on our provider list to get our eyes checked and obtain a new prescription for my hubby. We loved the location and website.....Meatball was so cute! We have two dogs and live in Newport so we figured with the location we'd make a walk out of it from the Peninsula to Lido. Staff is great!! VERY friendly and you feel at home...they let our two dogs, Sandy and Juno, come in! All of the dogs togegther were very well behaved and Meatball is a very good greeter. She loved playing and laying near our dogs. Dr Chen is very warm, inviting, personable and knowledgable. We can't wait to do our yearly eye checks now! And yes, Ziggy is there as well. Great classic local business. We love supporting our local businesses. We also love that they welcome us ..even with dogs! When you make your appointment, Renato is very polite as well. Great experience with Dr. Chen! She's helpful, provides me recommendations when my first set of monthly contacts weren't comfortable, and has no problem answering all my questions. She recommended some daily contacts for me and they work out great. She explained to me my vision insurance plan and what it covers. Thankfully, I have great vision, however if anything were to happen, this is the place I would go to. I found this place on Yelp, and was able to schedule a same-day appointment for a regular eye exam. The gentleman that attends the reception area was very helpful and understanding. Once all the paperwork and initial testing were taken care of, Dr. Chen came out of her office and greeted me with a warm welcome. Then she went through all the steps, and took the time to explain everything. She was very nice and made sure that I did not feel like just any other patient. I had some complaints about a minor pain in my right eye, and she quickly determined the cause and gave me a handful of eye drops to take home. Needless to say, I left feeling great, and am a lot better now. Although I came here for a basic exam that I like to do every couple years or so, I can comfortably say that this place will take care of you whatever your complaints are, and you will rest assured knowing that you will receive nothing but stellar treatment. Dr. Chen is patient and kind, and goes the extra step to get you towards the best prescription for you, and answers all your questions. The rest of the staff is helpful and personable. My daughter had her first eye exam here. She was scared at first but she had a great time there. The doctor was really nice and patient and really took the time with her.
