It seems like all of the "Fresh Mex" eateries are making their way to Exit 11 off of Interstate 75 in southeastern Tennessee. Salsarita's is one of the latest to make their bid for all of those healthy eaters in the region. Salsarita's is clean and fresh with good tacos, burritos, salads, chips and soft drinks for all. I particularly like the mango salsa on my veggie burrito bowl. It is AMAZING! The large windows let in all of the sunshine. I also like the variety of table options. There is one just for you and your posse. The tall table is for me. Salsarita's is the closest of the "Fresh Mex" cafes to Interstate 75. You will see it just on the right of the north bound exit. Viva Salsarita's!!!

Food has been on point lately. New manager and staff has made a difference. Can not complain about the Ooltewah store.

Good food fast service. Have been there twice, would go back again! Ambiance was typical - nothing too flattering but serves it purpose.

I was greeted with friendly faces and the food was great. It's better than the Chipotle I work at and I wish it was closer.

My wife and I love this place. It's a quick chipolte/qudoba style restraunt. Gets busy around lunch time but is still manageable.

Decent food. Service is very slow. They need to hire a decent manager and train people to execute more tasks at one time.

I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my "go to" when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn't so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here. Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.

Handicapped parking is near the front door. Walking in there is a divider directly in front. Turn right and there is a sign to wait to be seated. We had ordered ahead for pickup and were greeted as soon as we walked in. We were a little early from the time they said it would be ready but we only waited another couple minutes. The food was packaged in the typical foil tins with lid. Everything was hot when we got home. The carnitas was quite good. The meat was tender and moist with very little fat. Flavor was mild but still acceptable. The chili Colorado was cooked properly. The sauce had no heat which was a disappointment. The rice and beans accompanying each dish were sub par. The rice was flavorless and the beans were very bland. The lettuce and guacamole salad was fine. The guac was also very mild in flavor. Finally, the corn tortillas were disappointing. Very bland again with only two of the three being edible. The third was soggy on half and tough on the other. While this El Maguey provides passable Mexican-style food, there are several other restaurant choices available.

So finally after all these years, I came here with my dad. Service was fast and helpful. There are many tables and places to sit. They have a large menu too. I ordered the Beef Chimichangas with all the sides, and my dad had the Chicken Fajitas. Food came out pretty quick. I will say, the portion size is incredible. The price is reasonable depending on the time you come for lunch or dinner, and they give you so much. For me, I love all the sides and some places tend to give a meager amount, but not this place. And they didn't even cheap out on the guacamole amount too. I had some to take home at the end, so I was happy about that. Although the food was decent and plentiful, I will say that it lacked flavor for me. It wasn't amazing in comparison to all the Mexican places I've tried around the area. And also I guess from eating Mexican food in California, I have a high standard. Like I reiterated before, great portion size but a little disappointing regarding the flavor. It felt like it was missing something, maybe a little salt but also something more that I can't put my finger on. I'm not sure if I would come back.

We all ordered the same thing: the Mushroom Ravioli. It was absolutely delicious. The raviolis were covered in sauce and had parmesan and parsley sprinkled on top. Presentation was nice. I loved how creamy, yet light the sauce was. Also perfectly salted too. The Mushroom Raviolis were very flavorful, had a rich umami and savory taste to it. For my first dish here, it was very memorable. I'm pretty sure I was about to drink the sauce because I loved it haha. My only complaint is that I wish there was more. The dish had 6 raviolis. The ravioli was a decent size, but for the price I was expecting a little bit more. Despite this, I would come back again. I really enjoyed my food, it was a 4.5/5 for me.
