The food was good and service is great I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Mexican food

Absolutely atrocious food. Half of our order was missing. The food was incorrect and the taste was not good. The tacos fell apart couldn't even eat them as a taco we had bonuses a fork. We were so disappointed for the price we paid. read more

The service was extremely friendly and impressively fast. They were fairly busy and yet I was shocked by how quickly my food was prepared. I ordered the El Camino Sampler and I was very happy with it. The regular salsa is delicious with a hint of sweetness and mild spiciness. The chips with beans and queso are very tasty. The wings are basically plain but delicious nonetheless. The cheese quesadilla is basic as expected. I didn't love the Tex-Mex egg rolls but they weren't bad by any means. The flautas were very good but I would have liked to had a beef one as well as chicken. I would definitely eat here again. read more

El Metate 3 - Most of the El Camino Sampler - Mexican Near Me - Soddy Daisy, Tennessee

Must try the el Camino dip. Amazing. I will now be craving this all the time;) Got it to go so even better! read more

This has been our go to for Mexican food for about four years now. Usually it's super good. However this week we got take out. And it was not good. I had steak fajita taco salad. The steak(what there was of it) was rubbery and not at all seasoned. There were big chunks of fat and gristle. I'm not going to be in a hurry to return. Seems quality has gone down hill. And while we were waiting for our order to be brought from the kitchen, the young man that was the host was passive aggressive towards my son. Do not recommend! read more

Good food and service. The ground beef could have been drained slightly more to remove the fat. My wife's Taco salad and my Chimichanga tasted as if the ground beef was not as lean as it has been in the past. The restaurant was very clean. read more

Ordered the nachos with ground beef and out came the most disgusting looking dish I've ever encountered at a restaurant. I wish I had taken a picture. It was a pile of ground beef on chips with lumps of semi- melted shredded cheeese with thin clear melted queso sauce poured over. It looked like something my sick dog would leave behind. read more

This place has always been great. Even today when the nations league final was on they served us fastgood atmosphere and affordable

This place wreaks of cleaning chemicals. The smell is so strong that you can taste it in your food.

1st time here but it won't be our last! Amazingly fast service, tasty food, huge menu of options. What else can you ask for? read more

Food is always good. Being vegetarian or vegan always make it hard to find something I will eat. The spinach enchiladas are great!! Sometimes the staff is friendly and sometimes not. Maybe it just depends on what kind of a day they have had. I am subtracting one star for the times staff was not friendly; mostly at the counter for pick up orders. Also you HAVE TO REQUEST cutlery packets otherwise you get you pick up order and realize you have to eat with your fingers because they don't just automatically add it. I've had it happen twice and now always ask for it! read more

Food is almost always great, and always good! I pretty much always get the Birria tacos now and they are quite delicious. I just wouldn't order them at the absolute tail end of when they're open bc you may get more fat than meat lol. Ambiance is great, always lively and the music sets just the right tone. The staff are super friendly, as well. Chips have been stale last few times, but all in all we love this place! read more

Our favorite mexican restaurant. we will always take the drive to come here rather than a closer restaurant. we've had such a great experience everytime we came here & we will continue coming back! most of the staff are friendly. prices are great, fresh food. read more

We eat there often. They food is good $ reasonably priced. The service is great too. I highly recommend

I have been really disappointed the past few times I have come here and tonight was no exception. We were seated immediately but waited forever for someone to come take our drink order. If they were busy I would understand but there was only one other table. Granted it was 10 people but they had 3 servers at the time. We finally had to ask the manager if we could order drinks. While eating we ran out of our beverages. And we waited for our server to come by so we could ask for a refill. And we waited... did I mention we waited?? Finally we asked the hostess about a refill and she went and looked in the kitchen for our server, and then in the back, then found him on the other side of the restaurant and told him we wanted a refill. Would it not been faster just to refill? It was a Dr Pepper, not alcohol. I do not think we will be back here for a while. The food is great, their Dr Pepper fountain drinks one of my favorites, but their service is horribly lacking. The 3 stars was only given because I love their food. I'd give a 2 Star for the service. read more

El Metate 3 - a plate of food with rice and chicken - Mexican Near Me - Soddy Daisy, Tennessee

El Mente has not changed a whole lot except for a new menu. And when I say new menu I mean the way it looks, not necessarily the recipes. It's not gotten worse but the surrounding places that offer the same food and service has. The reason for my three star review is not necessarily meaning or bad, but the surrounding area has got a lot more competitive. Around this area, Mexican food fair is comparable. Service can really separate a place from the other ones and that's where El Metate usually fall short. Living in Soddy-Daisy the best part about El Metate is that it's close to home. Having said that, I would rather drive a few extra miles to foggin on Hixson Pike and go to El Metate if I had my choice. They still offer quality Mexican food. They have failed to grow with the times and make customer service part of the experience. read more

I am actually here eating right now good place to eat come here all the time sometimes getting them to understand what you want is difficult but other than that love coming read more

I love their food. Plus friendly staff. We go here to eat a lot. I love the Taco Fajita Salad with chicken. So delicious.

This is probably my least favorite location of this chain. The food, while served quick, is usually cool and lacks flavor. They're extremely inconsistent here compared to the location in Hixson. It's located in a small strip mall, but the restaurant itself is quite large inside. Fajitas are def the best thing to get. read more

Prices are good. Orders come out fast. Great Mexican flavors. Servers keep your drink full and check on you reasonably.

My favorite restaurant in Soddy Daisy!! Great food and great service. We love doing our family gatherings here.

Food is good and drinks are as well service is impeccable, but cold and not friendly.. the maitre d acts like an army sargent.. prefer deliah's. El Metate is a bit pricier as well read more

Someone at this location is scanning customer's receipts on the Fetch app for personal gain. Not ethical on multiple levels.

Not the best Mexican ever, but when I am craving it, it hits the spot. The house margaritas are weak but the Texas style is good and potent. It helps that they are just down the street for me. Chips and salsa are good. That is my first two requirements - a decent margarita and good salsa/chips. I usually get their carnitas but other people with me have gotten other things and liked them. So give them a try! read more

Pretty good. Their fajitas and nachos are great. Their hard shell tacos and cheese enchiladas are not so great. The chicken enchiladas are not bad. Staff is friendly. read more

My favorite Mexican Resturant for quick, inexpensive and tasty Mexican cuisine. Good service and food is always consistent. Typical Mexican food on the menu. Great salsa and chips served with meal also. Daily specials that include your drink also available. read more

Exactly what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant in TN. Generous portions, great guacamole and super friendly waiters. I do carry out here all the time and it's always ready before I get there. Nothing fancy, but then again, you don't expect fancy with a mexican place in a strip mall. Highly recommended, but just understand what your expectations should be. read more

Absolutely amazing the cheese dip is better then almost every Dayton Mexican restaurant service is great. Very happy with this place!!

This is a favorite Mexican place of mine. I like to bring the family here and we've been here a several times. As someone else mentioned, it is exactly what you'd expect of a Mexican restaurant in Tennessee. They have a variety of chicken, beef, and seafood dishes. There's a pretty extensive menu. A huge tilt toward typical Tex-mex, but they have a few "authentic" mexican dishes peppered in too. My favorite is the fajitas. I get them pretty frequently and they always come out sizzling. You will smell like a fajita for the rest of the day, so don't say I didn't warn you! Service is quick and the food is good for an inexpensive Mexican place located in a strip mall next to WalMart. There's nothing fancy about this place, but they must be doing something right. It's always busy at mealtimes on the weekends. I've even seen a line out the door. If you come here looking for good food fast, you'll have come to the right place. read more

Had supreme nachos and Coke. Coke had a weird after taste, and the beef to the nachos was undercooked. Otherwise alright

I will NEVER eat there again--not even if someone offered me dinner there for free. I have eaten there twice. If I had not been with a group who wanted to eat there the second time I wouldn't have. The first time I went there I arrived 20 minutes before the end of the lunch menu prices. It was not busy at all--there were two other tables who were already eating. The waiter sat at the register and stared at me. Finally, right at the end of lunch he walked to the table. I asked about the lunch menu and he said he could not give me those prices because it was too late and the register would not let him, which was the strangest excuse and out right lie I have ever heard. So, I stayed and ordered off the dinner menu. The chips were greasy and stale and the salsa was watery. It took forever to get a refill on my drink. It took 30 minutes to get my food. I have worked food service. I grew up with parents who owned a restaurant. I get that good food can take time. This was disgusting. I ordered a chimichanga. The meat was cold and dry--so dry I could not tell if it was chicken or steak. The rice and beans were cold and dry. None--and I mean NONE--of the food had any flavor. I'm not sure that my food had not been dug out of the trash. This was the WORST dining experience of my entire life. If you are considering EL Metate in Soddy just drive a little further and go to Delia's, which is AMAZING. I thought maybe my second experience would be better, but it wasn't outside of we did arrive at dinner hours, so that was not an issue. I'd actually give them negative stars if I could. read more

Great place to grab some Mexican for lunch..or Dinner staff is always prompt and courteous. Drinks are great and the prices are reasonable.

El metate is our very favorite place to go in Soddy Daisy ! The staff are great and we really appreciate all the care that is always taken especially during Covid 19. We feel very safe to order take out and we can't wait until the day when we can come back with our girls. Until then , the margaritas , fajitas, and guacamole casera are the bomb.com and we will continue to support this business . Also they are the fastest place in town our order is always ready within 15 minutes -- we will take el metate over amigos any day :) read more
