This is a SUPER hard review to figure out! The location is weird but that is what it is. No points deducted for that. As soon as I walked in there was a vibe that they don't care about customers because they know we'll show up and that was concerning. The walls and blinds are dirty and the flooring is outdated. They're making money and not spending it on the business and it's obvious. Their entire place needs redone and cleaned. They told me to seat myself and my OCD went into vapor lock mode. Took me several minutes to decide. I finally sat down watching a tv in Spanish with English subtitles but that's whatever I guess. Now for the food: they brought tortillas and salsa and the chips were obviously not fresh and the salsa seemed like it was from a jar. I ordered 10 extra hot wings and 2 beef tacos no lettuce with water for a drink. The water was never once refilled, the tacos tasted like...nothing. Basically ground beef sitting in grease for hours with zero seasoning thrown in a hard shell with cheese. The wings however, were AMAZING. 10/10 and hotter than I expected. I'm a spice head so if you're not, DO NOT buy the extra hot wings!!!! I never saw my waitress a second time and had to ask someone else for a to go container as I was about to grab one for myself. We dined in on a Thursday around 3:30. It was fairly empty. When we arrived we were told we can sit anywhere. Immediately our waitress came to take our drink orders and we also placed apps. Potato skins, queso dip, and chunky guac! All were very good and freshly made! For our entrees we got teriyaki wings and lemon pepper wings, pollo loco, and grilled chicken nachos! I went with family. We were seated immediately. There was plenty of parking. The staff was attentive and checked in while decided. I ordered the chicken and rice dish. It was so good and there was a large enough portion to eat half for later. I enjoyed the experience and will definitely try other menu items in the future. I used to come to a different location all the time, but this was my first visit to this location. It's located directly behind Sonic and is hidden. The food was delicious, one of the best Mexican restaurants in Chattanooga. However, I ordered sour cream and it never came. This place has great wings! The Mexican food I've ordered hasn't been that impressive, but, alas the place IS called Mexi-Wings! The Mexican beer is ice cold and they've got quite a few to choose from. What's better than beer and wings? There are lots of TV's to watch also. The strip mall where it's located looks pretty sketchy and run down, but the restaurant is very clean and well kept inside. If you love wings--definitely try this place! read more

Some of the best wings in Chattanooga. There mexican food leaves something to be desired though. The atmosphere isn't the best either and I think that could drastically improve just by them replacing their carpet. But overall a pretty good place and good service and staff. I give the rating on almost our waiter Julio alone. He was so funny and good to talk to and helpful, I would have given it a five if it hadn't of been for what me date ordered. I relatively pedestrian chimichanga. I tried their tacos and they were great. I recommend the cachete and el pastor. The tounge was a little to soft for my liking, and the tripe was just a little to poopy for my taste buds, but it was first time I had had tripe in something hung other than soup. But the three tacos I preferred were amazing. And Julio didn't even charge me for the tripe as he dared me to order. Five star service, 4 star food. I only tried the Mexican food, but it was not good. The beef chimichanga looked delicious and was cooked well, but the ground beef within was disgusting. I had some taquitos and the same thing - the ground beef was horrible. It tasted like what I'd imagine dog food tastes like. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with their grease on the day that I went, or what, but I won't be trying it again to find out. My wife ordered an ice water and she said it was also disgusting, and she couldn't drink more than a sip. I'm not sure what the deal was. I had some Mexican cokes and they were fine, but of course they were bottled so weren't affected by whatever was the issue with their water. The rice and beans were also fine. The queso & salsa were fairly generic, but there was nothing wrong with them. The chips were a bit stale-tasting but edible. read more

A neighbor of mine needed a ride. I came in with him as courtesy of the invite. At a glance, it was ordinary. To be completely honest. I had been burned out on the choices for Mexican food in my area. Or disappointed a few too many. This was not the case. I decided to give their tacos a shot. Which is on the antojitos menu. My neighbor ordered the wings. They specialize on these. Its not the fast food style Tex-Mex either. They actually cook to order here. The wait was worth the stomach pangs. Upon that first bite, I knew. Al pastor taco I had just ordered, had melted in my mouth within the initial bite. The seasonings gifted my taste buds. I was blown away by this taco. It took me back with nostalgia-town. It was as if I had walked into an authentic street side mercado in Mexico City. The seasonings just as colorful as the culture. A friend and I got there later than the rest of our group... they asked for what we wanted to drink. I asked for a water and my friend asked for a margarita. They got her drink but it took them about 10 minutes+ to ask me again if I wanted water. Two of my other friends even got seconds for margaritas. They finally got me A WATERRR! They didn't even refill me until I was down to just ice. Then I asked for simply 2 tacos and the waiter gave me just barely enough for one taco. I waited for them to come back & it took so long that when they got me more salsa, my last taco was cold.
