We celebrated my birthday this past weekend by ordering from Salsa's in Anna for 14. We had chicken and steak fajitas. They were amazing! My husband had ordered for take out and everything was carefully packaged including the set ups for the fajitas. We also ordered both types of Queso which were delicious as well. We go to the restaurant at least twice or more in a month and have never been disappointed in their food, atmosphere, or service. It is refreshing to know that care is taken with their takeout service too. Thank you for making our celebration this weekend so delicious! How this place has 3 stars is beyond me! From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in, we were treated with exceptional service! We were super hungry since we skipped breakfast and it was already 3:30-4pm by the time we arrived here. Our waitress, Bridget, was absolutely the best. To start off our delicious meal, we had the queso con chorizo as our appetizer and ate that with the free nice warm crispy chips and salsa and frijoles (beans) they serve while waiting for your food. We had 2 nice cold frosty Negra Modelo on draft!!!! Every-time we see this on the menu, its our go to, especially when on draft! While we were munching away on our delicious queso with the chips, we decided to go for our entree with the Molcajete. This choice of ours was hands down the best. Although we were pretty full with the queso, we made an attempt to devour the delicious meats inside the molcajete. I had the chicken and steak and chorizo, and my boyfriend ate the same + shrimps (im not a big fan of seafood ). We ate almost everything except the Nopales. Those we didn't like but to be fair, we never liked them to begin with so it didn't bother us that it came with it. For those who love nopales im pretty sure they were slamming. Let me explain the coolest part of the molcajete. Once it arrived at the table, they lit the plate it was standing on, on FIRE!!! It was such a cool experience. Although I was scared my eyebrows were going to burn off . Once we were stuffed with all the deliciousness from the molcajete, my boyfriend didn't want anything else. I on the other hand, will NEVER, well almost never, pass up a desert! So we had the Churros with ice cream (vanilla). These were soooo goood!!!! They were filled with what I think was either cajeta or dulce de leche. Either way, they were tasty! I had 3 and my boyfriend 2, the order came with I believe 6 small churros. Overall, it was a good tasty experience and definitely did not break the bank. Drinks were good. Food was bad. My brisket enchilada tasted like tuna fish. It was odd. Boyfriend could barely finish his meal and the best part about it was the drinks and queso. Server was very abrasive at first and then eventually warmed up. read more

We gave this place one more chance. I will say that the food was great. This is our fourth time visiting and it's consistently great. The manager Armando helped us throughout the entire visit. He had a smile the entire time. While the place was extremely busy. Later we learned that they had four service working. Several others did not show for work. Armando did what any great manager would do. Made sure that the service continues. We will continue to visit this restaurant. read more

Decided to sit at the bar on Sunday night. First, Met with an attitude from the female bartender when giving drink order. Then had to wait 5-10 minutes until we asked a different server for another. Chips say empty and nobody asked if we wanted a menu or food. Once we said something to a manager about a female who had been sitting at a neighboring table for 15 minutes with no drink, the bartender then approached to inquire about refills, while stating the female patron didn't want chips, therefore she was OK. 3 minutes later they asked the female patron and she was met with a water and chips/salsa. Afterwards, we noticed continually staring and discussion by the managers and staff. Not impressed given this is the only choice of tex-mex in Anna. However, Gavineo eventually saved the day and preserved our experience through attentive service. read more

Josue is an excellent waiter, he always goes above and beyond to make sure you not only feel welcomed but also feel valued. We have been coming to this location for about 6 months and ever sinced he waited on us the first time, we have asked to sit in his section all the time cuz we feel appreciated as a guest. No! I found a hair in my food. The lady that handed me the food got annoyed because I sent the food back. Plus, the way they present the food on the plate is messy. I've been to Salsa Tex Mex twice here in Anna. The first time wasn't bad. The 2nd time was pretty bad. The hair in my food is why I won't be going back. read more

My wife and I went here for the first time last night. We were greeted immediately and.seated at the booth closest to the hostess stand. We sat, and sat and after about 10 minutes told the young lady that seated us we had not seen our server. It was not that crowded and several servers had been standing around the hostess stand talking. After about 5 minutes our server appeared and with no apology for the wait, took our order. She was one of the servers that had been standing around the hostess stand talking. After she brought the food she continued standing around the hostess stand talking and when we needed a refill or something we had to flag someone down. Our servers name was Yoselyn. I want to mention that the food was great. We moved here from Frisco about a year ago and used to eat at the Frisco location often and enjoyed. I believe the food was even better at the Anna location. If it were not for the service I would have rated this 5 stars. We will probably come back and hopefully get better service next time. read more

This was our first visit at this restaurant and it was a terrible visit. We sat out on the patio which was fairly busy but not to bad . We had 2 waters and a coke, chips and salsa. We sat there for 30 minutes and not once got a refill on our drinks. There was a table sitting next to us with 6 people who had the same waitress as us. Our waitress looked over at our table (while refilling their waters) and saw we were empty on our waters and walked inside. Our waitress did not come back out to refill our drinks and my husband got her attention and asked if we could just receive our bill and to cancel our order. She went back inside and never came back out. We really wanted to like this place because it's close to home and we didn't even get to try the food. It had nothing to do with us not getting our food fast but the fact that the table next to us kept getting refills when their drinks weren't even empty. I wanted to write an update as I feel I may have been a little unfair in my initial review. I went again but on a weekday and at a different time. Too funny...I got the same bartender at the same bar! This experience was totally different. The bartender was very efficient and actually engaged in conversation. My drinks were spot on and my food (to-go) came out quicker than expected. I ordered the same food as the first visit and it was even better. Also, the dining area for lunch was packed. My family loves this place. The food is really good. My girls love the kids menu and the bean dip. It can get pretty crowded here on weekends, so you might have to wait. Minus one star because every time we do take out here, which is often, we have to beg repeatedly for extra chips and bean dip. When you eat in, you get unlimited dip and chips. Each diner, even kids, is given their own little bowl. So why is it when you order 6 meals out, they give you 1 small chip, 2 salsas, and 1 bean dip. We literally have to ask multiple times and practically argue to get just 2 chip servings, and 4 small bean dips. So only the kids get one like that. We get tired of begging for it! read more

Went on a Monday night. Bad experience. Ordered first a top shelf margarita. I always order it with no salt and the server always repeats it my no salt request. 50% of the time it comes out correct. Sometimes I'll have them remake. This time, I got the drink and grumbled ,"no salt", the server said, "do you want me to get another one". This is phrasing I hate. Dont make me the the bad guy. It's on you and the bartender to assure its correct. Instead, tell me you'll fix it. Own up to the mistake. I said, "no...dont worry about it". We ordered Jamie's special, our go to menu item. It came out fast, since there was only a handful of ppl in the restaurant. The steak and enchilada were less than room temp. Steak was overcooked as well. It seemed that the steak was cooked well before we came in and held in a warming area until ordered ....which overcooked it. The plate was not even warm. Upsetting for paying $14 for the plate. Server came over and asked how everything was...I grumbled that the food wasn't fresh and being usual customers, we hadn't had such a bad meal. That was met with a "sorry" and another "do you want me to take it back". No real attempt to fix it...but more putting it on us to decide to "inconvenience" the kitchen. We weren't looking for a compt meal...we just wanted to have a great experience. We paid and left. This put a bad taste in our mouth to where I dont want to go back. read more

Best little tex-mex place around! It can get extremely busy during peak hours but they will do their very best to accommodate you. The food is always nice portioned, competitively priced and the drinks are fantastic. Overflow parking is sometimes an issue but well worth the wait. Their bar is kind of small but the ambiance has a hometown feel to it with plenty of TV's and decor. I personally enjoy their Micheladas. Their brunch specials are also delicious with exceptional customer service! Highly recommend! read more

The food is fantastic. I had the fajitachanga, it is huge, stuffed full of meat, cheese, I think beans in a fried flour tortilla. You pick the sauce to cover it in. It was really good, and the left overs heating pretty good the next day. I would definatly recommend this dish. The service is great, we never waited on a drink refill, and anything we asked for was promptly attended to. For a small town restaurant this place has it down. read more

Wow, is all that I can say. When dining here for the first time. We received our food with bits of plastic inside of the lettuce. As well as the zip tie from the tortilla package. I brought this to the attention of "Natalie" one of the mangers. She assured me that upon my next visit we would be taken care of and given a free meal. Upon calling back. The store manager assured me that my conversation with Natalie was impossible and could never have happened because Natalie would have told her. I ask the manager if I could speak with Natalie. She told me that she wouldn't be available for another two weeks. She then proceeded to tell me to have a great day and that my story never happened and that there was nothing she could do. Not even an apology for my bad experience. Our conversation ended with her hanging up on me, after I asked her if she thought I fabricate a story this elaborate over a sub $20 meal. I informed her that this meant I would probably never eat here again. This was after I forgave them for allowing plastic to be shredded into my lettuce. BEWARE. So glad to have a great sit down restaurant in Anna! This location opened a couple of months ago and I was really hoping that the community would help it stay through the pandemic. Every time I drove by there were so many cars getting to-go orders. They are now open for seating and have a great bar and patio area. We have tried a lot of the items on the menu but our go to is the chicken fajitas for two. The margaritas are amazing! The staff is all very friendly every single time we have gotten a to-go order or dined inside. This is a must try if you are travelling through or live in the area. read more

I'm going to try to make this as short as as possible, And I'm not even going to go back and correct The voice to text. I ordered two beef tacos a cheese enchilada and a pork tamale that's it. The order was done incorrectly. I asked for one beef taco to have no lettuce and it came to me with just beef and nothing else. The other taco had all of its contents thrown into the bottom of the Styrofoam container with the empty shell on top. The taco shells look like they were days and days old and having been fried multiple times and yet they weren't crisp they were as tough as leather. The black beans simply looked like sludge and I didn't even touch them. The cheese enchilada and it's cheese was like all dried cardboard that actually had to cut with the knife. The pork tamale meat seemed to be prior dried up meat that had been remoistened. Worst of all when I called to ask for a refund on the tacos, to make a ridiculously long conversation short where I was first told that refunds couldn't be given because the ticket was open and had to be done tonight, then said that they could just give me a new taco tonight and I advised him I did not want to go back tonight and I had no need for taco tomorrow. When he continued to talk over me and I told him never mind I will just leave a review, oh my Lord ... then he really got upset and I couldn't get a word in edgewise, so I just hung up. I even went so far as to take it to my next-door neighbor to have them take a look at it and they were appalled, particularly for the price.
