Saloni Boutique is AMAZING! Literally your one stop shop for all needs whether it be bridal or just a simple party. I went to 6-7 other shops like this in Plano and all of them were either too simple for what I was looking for, making me custom design things a little out of my budget, or extremely heavy dresses that didn't make sense paying for one time wears. Saloni Boutique ended my search since they had a respectable number of options for good prices -- best bang for your buck! I was also able to have my jewelry and bangle needs fulfilled, and they also have numerous options for men too. On top of that, they do the tailoring and fit the outfits to us for very cheap compared to elsewhere since we bought the clothes from them. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable. I had many questions, and they were extremely patient with me offering to fix anything I needed and helped show things to my mom over FaceTime too. They finished tailoring everything earlier than we had anticipated and worked well with my timeline (if you're getting bridal clothes, I'd suggest going in at least 2-3 weeks in advance of needing the clothes). I go to this store with my mom because she knows the owner, Saloni. Saloni is usually very nice to our family and provides great deals. I've purchased some very beautiful unique dresses for weddings here and so have my sisters. I really like their tailor as well. I feel like he has saved some dresses I ordered online that didn't fit and also fixed some dresses that were not properly tailored by a previous tailor. I cannot count the numerous times they made me feel beautiful and comfortable in all the outfits I bought from here. My shoulders and arms are always broader than the normal fit..... or I could say my waist is smaller than normal fit to my shoulders and arms. My cousins wedding was this past weekend and we purchased all 9 groomsmen outfits as well as 16 outfits for the family all tailored by the onsite tailor they have. Hospitality and attention given was impeccable, we where treated as family! Saloni boutique is located inside Patel brothers grocery store. My experience here was absolutely traumatizing and unacceptable. I arrived to the boutique and was the only customer there at the time. I wanted to get the sleeves of two dresses altered. The lady was nice and took my arm measurements and stated that for two dresses it would take one week and the cost would be 35 dollars. Compared to the current market for alterations this is an outrageous price to just attach sleeves to a dress and the time frame for the completion of the task is ridiculous. This is a 30 minute task. Regardless, I was already at the store and decided I will just get the sleeves attached here. However, one of the dresses was more simple work that I could do myself at home so I decided that I would only get one of the dresses fixed to save money. The lady said ok but the manager who was sitting there said "she can take both back." He said this in Hindi as if I couldn't understand him. I asked the lady why and told her I would still like to get one outfit done. She said I could talk to the man. I then told the man that I would like to get one outfit altered and he said no you can have them both back. I said why, do you not want to serve the customer? And he said no I don't want to serve you. I was completely taken aback and perplexed. I said that is fine, if you don't want to serve the customer and want to be rude then okay, you will lose business. This guy definitely need help on his social skills and business skills. The whole thing was ridiculous and I am still confused as to why I was not given service. I looked on yelp and there are two other awful reviews of this boutique under "Patel brothers" but as not to give a bad name to Patel brothers I wanted to make this review separate. I went to Saloni boutique last month to have a few of my dresses altered , not only did she got it done in a short amount of time but also had them fit like a glove. I had given my clothes to some other lady before her and wasted time and money but grateful someone recommended Saloni to me and I am glad I found her. She's the sweetest and the kindest person ever and you can tell that she takes pride in her work. Definitely not cheap but her work is every penny worth. Wouldn't even give this a one star. The rudest owner ever that works there. She tried to over charge me for literally everything. I had already paid for my two lehengas to helm and a measurement service. eventually realized what I just paid them was ridiculous. Less than five minutes after I paid I went back inside to ask for a refund with my receipt. And nowhere does it say that there's no refund or anything. She started yelling at me and raising her voice at me because I asked for a refund. She says that she put all this work into doing my measurements, which she charged me $25 for and was her job that I PAID HER TO DO SO. and that maybe I should asked my mom before doing anything bc I just wasted her time. There was so much more she rebuked me for and I felt so emotional the fact that some outsider just talked to me in this manner. She was so rude I can't even explain, I was surprised people can even act like this as an owner. It's funny how she was all sweet when she took my money though, and then a complete change of attitude when I asked for a refund. Eventually I got my refund for my lehengas after having to go through all of this, and also tried to keep a portion of my money for wasting thier time. TAILORING AND MEASUREMENTS IS YOUR JOB. Mom and I love our experience each and every time we shop at Saloni's Boutique! The selections are up to par with the latest fashions both in India and the US. The matching accessories (such as jewelry and footwear) are available in just about any color you can think of and coordinate very well with any outfit. There is also an on-site tailor (which makes it convenient for any needed alterations). Both Saloni and her husband, Raj, are courteous, helpful, and professional. If there is a particular outfit I like, she will have it customized to fit me. I've had several outfits altered here and have not had a problem. Unfortunately, most Indians are cheap and don't want to pay for services rendered. That is also why many people feel they can negatively review a business. Yet, if they were the ones that owned a business, they would want to charge the full sticker price. Double standards. That is coming from a second generation Indian who was born in the United States. It makes me so angry when people feel they are entitled to just walk into a store and ask for a discount right off the bat. Try walking into Macy*s or Nordstrom in the United States with that attitude and see what happens. This place is a rip off. They charge too much money for poor poor service and even worse attitude. They'll ruin your dress. Don't go here. For altering my blouse a little and getting the hem of my skirt shortened two inches, she charged me $45. I thought that was a lot but I was desperate for quick alteration. She took my measurement quickly without care, took my dress, told me to go pay and kinda dismissed me. When I came back to try it on, the alterations did not look good at all. When I asked her to fix what was messed up, she said, "oh I wish I knew this earlier. It was your fault. You didn't specify what exactly you needed." She was blaming me for her crappy service. I hate this kind of customer service. When I asked her how much the additional alterations would cost, she charged me $55 and wouldn't budge on the price at all because she knew I was desperate. I told her to just alter the blouse again and paid her an additional $25. I had my mom do the additional alterations for the skirt. (My mom, who doesn't know how to sow or do alterations, did a better job than this lady.) When I came back for the blouse, the alterations weren't done as we agreed. I serve the Paki/Indian community and am very familiar with how to properly and respectfully interact with all members of the community regardless of age. The 2 men running the store were rude. Kept their arms crossed the entire shopping duration. Lacked personality. Kept a watchful eye over me as if I were robbing them blind. Little do they know I serve thousands of Desi brides and give away multiple referrals. This place will not be a referral I choose to give. Very rude people. I did not feel like my presence or possible business was valued there at all. They did have nice stuff, but if they keep treating customers like this, they will eventually close down. BEWARE! I wish I would have read these reviews first. Yes she was rude but I put up with it because I thought "the master" which she called the tailor would do a good job. Boy was I wrong! I left a jacket to be lined and ended up with a square poorly made top instead. She insisted this was the way to do it even though she knew the fabric was for lining and not a top. I did a better job on my 7th grade home ec. project. I went to another tailor who told me that others came crying to her after being at this shop. I have been coming to this place for a few years now and every time I come something is done wrong. Today was the last straw for me. She did not care to make sure my outfit was altered perfectly. Made me rush through it all!! However, whilst I was trying on my clothes today the employee opened the door!! She did apologize for accidentally opening my door but the owner did not seem to care at all. Visited this boutique twice while in Plano from out of town. Both times had a great experience with Saloni spending hours helping me find outfits I liked without being pushy. She even stayed late to ensure we went over the entire selection and delivered the alterations in a very short timeframe. The on-site tailor and Saloni's knowledge of tailoring was a plus. My wife had a very bad experience with this business yesterday. On just commenting that the stitching charge was excessive and not commensurate with the job, ($15 for a single stitch alteration) the man at the counter (Mr. Saloni?) yelled at her to take her stuff and not come back to the store. On speaking to folks in the Patel store I learnt that there have been numerous fights in the past too, with customers being insulted and treated rudely and cops had to be called in too on some occasions. This is the worst place for customer service. This guy named "Raju" working with Saloni in the boutique located inside Patel Brothers. I had three dresses to purchase for my child and was discussing with Saloni about the alterations charge and time to complete. I was not complaining or anything about prices. All I asked was to make sure that dresses will fit my child upon alterations otherwise it will be a waste of money for me. Raju, who is sitting on the other counter, told me to leave the store in yelling high pitch voice. there are no guarantees of alterations and he is not interested in selling me. I should leave the store. I was so shocked and brutally insulted by such behavior. I had my child with me and this was totally unacceptable for him to treat me this way. I simply asked him to calm down but he said he won't calm down. I reported this incident to the police on October 14, 2015. Also spoke with the store manager Hitesh from Patel Brothers. I would not even go to Patel Brothers for grocery shopping because I feel they are very much liable for having such bad mannered Raju & Saloni inside their store. If you have a choice of shopping elsewhere, Do yourself a favor and avoid Patel Brothers-Plano and their boutique store altogether. read more

I didn't have a good experience when I gave my pant to change broken zip. They charged $15 for a cheap zip which broke when I tried to wear it the first time. When I called her about that the owner lady said that the zip is from India and she will replace another one for free.But when I met her in person she said the zip is locally made and there is no guarantee with anything. They replaced the zip with the same type as the previous one which doesn't work right. I have to be V careful when I pull it up and it comes down after sometime. My mom and I were the only ones in the store and we arrived long before closing time so we thought we could spend some time looking at a few different pieces for Diwali. She found a $300 lehenga that she liked but it was definitely WAY overpriced for what it was. My mom asked if they have any good deals going on for Diwali/Garba season and the owners just told us to leave if we weren't going to buy anything because they're very busy. There was no one in the store and they were playing with their phones. We were planning on buying something but left after being rudely insulted. Their clothes aren't worth the money. I wish I would have read other reviews before entering this store. The owners - Saloni and her husband are very rude and practice very bad business manners. I will report this incident in better business bureau as well. So I go their to buy a ready made blouse. The lady reluctantly shows me couple of blouses . I compare the colors etc and there she impresses me by offering that this will be altered to your size, You just have to like the style and leave everything else to me etc. She talked me to buying one of the blouses and asked me for the credit card. I don't know what I was thinking at that time to offer her my credit card without inquiring about the price as she was rushing me. When it occurred to me that the price was not on the blouse and she has not even mentioned that till now, I asked her what is the price and she says $59.99. For that blouse, it will be no more than $30. After a thought, I said I am better off stitching the blouse, the couple started saying - No that will be more as the stitching alone will be $50 and then you have buy materials etc. I insisted that I do not want it but they said it has been charged already and that there is a Board right in front of the store that there is no exchange or return. In this case, I did not even get to hold the blouse and it is considered return!!! At that point, it was clear that I was very unhappy ; so they offered a store credit as I threatened that I am going to call my credit card company to put a stop on the payment( in the hind sight, that is exactly what I should have done!). They never returned my money but let me buy another item for the same price. So for the replacement item, I was careful that the price was clearly mentioned on the clothing. And the worst part is yet to come-Saloni is holding my credit card again and told her husband that the difference is now $15 dollars and the guy says in their native language(Gujrathi) - why does she not increase the price; to which she says that the price is listed on the clothing so cannot do it! Really, this business should be reported to authorities and should be closed. They are bad name for the entire Indian Community. What a shame!!! read more
