Really enjoyed the Fly Tying 101 class at the Orvis store this morning. I've been wanting to start tying my own flys for some time now. The class is free and they provide coffee and donuts for this early morning class. Our instructor Steve did a great job demonstrating the equipment, materials and the actual tying of the fly itself. He and his helper worked with each student as needed. Seemed I needed a lot of help but they had plenty of patience! The store is very nice and stocked with all kinds of outdoor goodies beyond fly fishing. They sent us on our way with follow up class schedule and coupons for fly material and fly tie kits. Orvis as usual is always a top notch establishment!

The employee counted them which is completely reasonable. Then I was told I could not enter because they were not on hangers. I explained that I picked them up from the sales floor without hangers and asked for three hangers. They gave them to me but then told me I still had to place every shirt back onto the rack outside the fitting room before I could go in. So I had to hang the shirts on the rack outside the dressing room just so I could walk inside and immediately remove them again. There was no purpose to it other than creating extra work and slowing the process down. As I was leaving I watched another customer get stopped because she had not rehung her clothing before exiting. Customers are now expected to do work that fitting room attendants have always handled. Retail stores are competing with online shopping where convenience is everything. Policies like this make the in store experience slower more frustrating and less enjoyable. I hope someone at the corporate level reevaluates whether this policy is actually helping anyone because from a customer's perspective it only creates unnecessary inconvenience.

Upon entering I was promptly greeted and asked if I needed any help (great!). I explained that I just browsing. Unfortunately for the duration of my time in the store I had a new shadow who was either pointing out how the thing I happened to glancing at was on sale, or was lurking within 5 feet waiting to pounce on the next opportunity (not so great). They even pulled out some sports coats and guilted me into trying them on even after I said I was not interested. I love good customer service but good service also means knowing when to give your customer some space. It got so annoying that I decided it was not even worth spending the reward and just left. I do like JAB but do not like the aggravation I get when coming to this location. It has happened to me in the past here. I ended up going to the Frisco location and got great service. They really did listen and care that I am satisfied with the resolution. I wasn't going to write a review but the more I think about my experience at this store today the more I don't want someone else to have to endure it. My fiancé and I went looking for, potentially a rental or purchase for our upcoming wedding. I know my fiancé can be a little difficult and he has high expectations for what he wants for the wedding. However, at one point I made a suggestion of a vest only option and the saleswoman took it upon herself to tell me what I "have" to do at my wedding because the dresses are floor length and formalities and blah blah. I listened for a moment before finally interrupting her to remind her that I/we can do what we want at our wedding. She then attempted to explain that it's her job to coordinate these things. She also mentioned how the pocket squares and ties have to be the same color as the bridesmaid dresses. Again another thing we don't want. We aren't a traditional couple I guess and maybe some of you will read this and gasp at my ideas for our wedding but it's not her job to coordinate my wedding. It is her job to sell or rent us the suit/tux we want. Also it is not her job to tell us the suit or tux we have to have. I truly felt offended and put off leaving this store today and if we do opt to rent or buy from Men's Wearhouse it will not be this location. Two stars because there is a good selection and there are a lot of options. I will give her credit for showing us many other options. And I won't post names because I absolutely do not want anyone to lose a job over my single experience.

The GAP: Where Sales Never Sleep…read more You know that feeling when you walk into a store just browsing--and five minutes later you're whispering "...how is this only $14?" to yourself in the dressing room? Welcome to the GAP, where there's always a sale, and it's never just 10% off. And if you find it cheaper online? They'll match it without blinking. No corporate hoops, no dramatic manager calls--just a cheerful "we got you." Don't see your size? No problem. They'll ship it to your house for free. The staff is super friendly, never pushy and somehow they always know when you're hunting for that one elusive medium in vintage soft crewnecks. This place has turned "running in real quick" into a full-blown ritual. Honestly, if loyalty points were a friendship, we'd be engaged by now. 5 out of 5. Long live the neighborhood GAP.

Old Navy January 30, 2026…read more 4 stars This Old Navy location was clean, well-organized, and easy to shop. The clearance section had a great selection, and we were able to find several really good deals. There was also a surprisingly large amount of Disney merchandise available, which was a nice bonus. Employees don't greet you or say hello when you enter or while you're shopping.

1-Star Review: Old Navy's Outdated & Customer-Hostile Pricing Policy…read more I am beyond disappointed with Old Navy's archaic and frankly pathetic pricing and price-adjustment policies. In 2025, it is ridiculous that a major retailer still refuses to honor their own online prices in-store unless the item is also purchased online. What kind of logic is that? I shopped in-store on Black Friday, assuming I was getting the best deal of the year -- only to find out on Cyber Monday that nearly every item I bought was significantly cheaper online. I could have saved at least 25% more had I purchased online instead of in-store. When I called customer service, I was told they "can't help" and that I had to physically go back to the store for a price adjustment. Who does this in 2025? Fine. I went to the store. Then the cashier tells me I need to bring all the items back just so they can process a return and make me re-buy everything at the online price. How is this remotely customer-friendly? How is this efficient? Why does a customer need to jump through hoops because the company refuses to align in-store and online pricing? Lesson learned: NEVER shop in Old Navy stores. Their in-store prices are almost always higher, and their policies make it incredibly difficult to get a price adjustment. If you must shop at Old Navy, buy online only -- pick up in store if you must. Online purchases offer the best pricing and customer service actually helps you over the phone. Retailers with such outdated, non-customer-centered policies have no one to blame but themselves when they struggle or go out of business. In a world where Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy's, Temu, and Shein are making shopping easier and more convenient, Old Navy is stuck in the past. Do better, Old Navy -- or prepare to be left behind.
