I recently moved to the neighborhood and ya know first things first, wait for your moving truck to arrive, unpack, get your home in order then new BOOTS! The moment I had myself in order it was time to pay Tecovas a visit. We arrived early Saturday. The gals that work here are the absolute cutest and most helpful. I tried on several different pairs. Enjoyed a yummy bourbon neat with a sparkling water as I shopped. Bestie waited for me, I told him he needed boots but he didn't try anything on. So many cute pairs here! I opted for a limited edition for now since I can come back for several others that are year round. We did the cutest branding on them with my initials and horseshoes. I love them!!! The store does regular boot shine and has a very impressive collection of goods that you'll be hard pressed to pass up. I love my Lucchese's and have a ton of boots from all makers, what I'll say about Tecovas is they feel unpretentious (in the best way!) which I love, and are a very nice price point. My husband and I I just left this store. We stood in the boot area for over 15 minutes with no offer of assistance, even though 2 sales people made direct eye contact with us. This wasn't 5 minutes before closing, but at 4:40 on a Saturday afternoon. Tecovas, you just lost at least $1200 in sales, as both of us were planning on purchasing boots. No next time for y'all. No excuse justifies terrible service in the retail industry in this economy. I am certainly not going to beg you to take my hard earned $1200. Tecovas has a great product and brand, but customer service at this store is non-existent. I had bought a pair of boots online and they were too big. I came into this store to return or exchange. The store did not have the boot I wanted in the smaller size, so we decided to order what I wanted to be shipped to my house. The new boots came and they were too small. The sizing issue doesn't bother me, it happens. I went back up to this store to return the boots and get a refund. The problem was the exchange was processed through a gift card. The gentleman with dark hair and a goatee beard said I could only get store credit and I could not get a refund. I think he is a store manager. Even though he agreed with the absurdity of this stance, he said this was all he could do. I told him to make a call or do something to figure this out. He refused. I took the boots and left. In the car, I called the 800 number for Tecovas (at 10:30 on a Saturday morning) and I was taking care of in minutes. I dropped the boots off at FedEx and was refunded to my credit card. I asked why the store manager didn't know to pick up the phone. She said he should know and she would alert corporate. Stay away from this store and the manager type figure with dark hair and a goatee. It felt like he was on a power trip and wanted to show me he was in charge. read more

I've had two experiences at this store and the first was quite lovely but the second kind of ruined it for me. I have been wanting a pair of good boots and I'd read and heard that Tecovas were the best. So I went in over Labor Day weekend to try some on and it was a great experience- Everyone was friendly and attentive, we were offered beverages, and enjoyed our shopping. When I purchased my gorgeous boots I opted to have them branded and one needed a little stretching. I was told they'd be ready in 72 hours and the store would call me when I could pick them up. 5 days later when I hadn't received a call, I called the store myself to confirm. I was told they were ready and I could pick them up. I went in the next day (Saturday, 9/6) and shared the details of the order with the clerk at the counter who left to go and retrieve it. A few minutes later a new person came and asked again what the name on the order was. I showed them the receipt and they left. The 3rd person who approached me asked for the order number again, I once again showed the receipt. Since all this took about 20 minutes, I was beginning to be concerned that they couldn't find my order. The 4th person who approached me (I wish I'd gotten her name) asked me again for the details of my order. I showed her the receipt, and then asked if they could use the details of the order or the card I purchased them with to find it. She proceeded to glare at me and then made this exaggerated gesture toward something behind me when I turned and saw the first clerk approaching with a box. I turned back to the sales associate who asked in a very snarky tone if she could "help" me with anything else. I was a little caught off guard by her obvious disdain, so I asked politely if she could understand my concern after being asked so many time by different people, none of whom could find the order over 20 minutes. Her reply was a snippy "of course" and then she turned her back and walked away. I really love my boots and I don't regret purchasing them. I do regret that second experience so much though because I felt so dismissed that it really ruined the overall experience. If you're looking for some Tecovas, I do love mine but I would strongly recommend purchasing them from a different location besides the one in Plano (Legacy West). read more

Since it was around the holidays they were busy, but I was able to get help and was checked on frequently. I got a great deal on the boots and my husband picked up a toiletry bag, so wait for a sale if you can! The sales associate was very helpful in my decision making when it came to size and we were able to get our items hot stamped while there. We were offered a complimentary drink while waiting. The store is what you'd expect after doing research on the site! Staff is super chill and doesn't hover around to bother you. I already knew what I wanted so it was a quick try of my two final options. As an avid Frye boot fan (and designer brands), I have to admit that Tecovas boots give them all a run for their money. I've paid more for boots than what Tecovas charges that are fairly close in quality and materials. They do have everything that they offer online. But they also do have other tee designs that aren't online. Totally worth a visit to check out and highly recommended if you're an avid boot/bootie addict like me. My new honey (English saddle brown) Jenny boots don't even need breaking in and have that divine leather smell. The store fits in well to the whole upscale vibe. Reminded me of Santana Row in the Bay Area or a slightly more causal version of The Grove in LA. Appreciate the elevated customer service offerings of water or beer on those hot Texas summer days too! read more

9 month later update These boots have been remarkable. I wear them all the time; they are incredibly comfortable and held up great. Started to get a bit dull as to be expected of any animal skin shoe over 9 months of heavy use. Stopped in at Tecovas and they conditioned and polished them right up for free and looking good as new. They even offered another drink while getting them conditioned even though I wasn't buying anything. Can't do any better. read more

The service at this store does not match the great quality of the product, store or location. As a baseline, I've been to multiple Tecovas around the state of Texas, this one had the worst service. The attendees just stand around and talk without engaging anyone. I've been several times now requesting a shoe shine and they're always "out of shine". I don't know if there are better boots elsewhere but there is definitely better service. read more

We walked into their new North Park store and were instantly greeted and offered a drink while we browsed. No pressure whatsoever. If you want to just come in for a drink, they don't care. Just take a look at that awesome mural! The salesperson was so patient and polite while helping us collectively try on many pairs of boots and shoes. We ended up purchasing four pairs from her! I did get home and decide I didn't want to keep a pair of boots for myself and it was the easier return I've ever experienced. Had a friend really excited to come here. She had heard about the boots and was visiting from out of town so had to stop in. They do have some pretty awesome styles, and given the quality, they are fairly priced. Gotta say the leather and ostrich are beautiful. Great place to find some boots if you're in the market and don't want to dig through rows of them at a larger boot store to find your size. The only downside was they were having some random office event there with some business in the area. So it was like a social hour right in the middle of the day when people are trying to shop with a bunch of office bros and their drinks. Made it really hard to shop the store and even hear each other talk. And they were taking up most of the seating, standing in the way of most of the products. Seemed odd to have that going on in the middle of the day when people shop but to each their own. read more

I took two Tecovas women's boots to the Plano-Legacy West store over Easter weekend for a complimentary cleaning. The team at Legacy-West was fantastic!! I had just been turned away from the Dallas-Knox Henderson store, where they refused to clean my boots even though I have moved to New York and brought them to Dallas for the weekend to be cleaned. Knox Henderson manager would not make an exception: no boot cleanings over the weekend (which includes Fridays). The Knox Henderson employees spent as much time arguing with me as it would have taken to clean the boots, my gosh! Kaleo at the Legacy West store was happy to clean my boots, especially when he understood that I could not bring them in during the week from NY. It was a busy Saturday afternoon during a holiday weekend, but the Plano store seems to understand customer service and the Knox Henderson store does not. read more

Bought a brand new pair of caiman boots which is not a small purchase by any means and was not taken seriously as a customer. We were paid hardly any attention at all by the younger gentlemen working that day but as soon as a group of younger women walked into the store (whom didn't make a purchase) they had the attention of the entire staff and were immediately offered drinks. We were expecting a higher end experience given the price tag of the boots we had purchased. Not only that but as we were trying on the boots the group of younger gentlemen were laughing loudly about something while standing in a huddle right behind us. A different gentleman approached us after we had made our decision and was much more engaging and attentive in the span of two minutes than any of the other staff was during the first 40 minutes we were in the store. Unfortunately did not get credit for the sale since he was not the one that approached us first. Quality of the boots is outstanding and the reason why we had chosen to purchase from Tecovas initially, we were just greatly disappointed at the service and experience offered. read more
