When I told them I wanted to wait a little longer to let my hair recover, they agreed that it was a great idea. At no point did they warn me that if I waited too long, the price would increase to full price. How was I supposed to know that? If they had told me, I could have made an informed decision. Instead, they just told me what I wanted to hear at the time to keep me from complaining. Now, three months later, I reached out to finally get my highlights done, and they refuse to honor the price they originally promised. Not only did I waste $300 on something I didn't ask for, but they also completely misled me about fixing it. This place is unprofessional and dishonest. I would never recommend them to anyone. Stay away unless you want to be overcharged and lied to.

I have not dyed my hair in over 16 years and wanted a change and I knew Tom was the person that could touch my virgin hair, haha! He's been giving me amazing cuts and I was very confident he would deliver and would know exactly what would look good on me. I did a partial balayage back in July (starting out small since it's been a while) and have been getting glazes every 7-8 weeks. My hair has never felt healthier. I used to be one of those gals that would wait forever to get a haircut and have tons of split ends. Ever since Tom - I've been visiting on a routinely basis with trims and glazes and I love the way my hair feels. I trust Tom completely with my hair and now during every visit I will just ask him what he thinks would look good and go with that :) Whenever I have a special event, he'll make sure he dolls me up. He's amazing, he's the curl and color expert! Salon is pretty spacious, clean and can get very busy on the weekends - you definitely need to schedule an appointment. From Lisa at the reception station to the women who shampoo, lip wax, cut and color - everyone was very sweet and caring with these two precious people in my life. Francesca is an exceptional stylist and colorist - a true professional. She asks questions not only about your preferences for length and color, yet also about your lifestyle; carefully listening to understand how much time you have each day to care for your hair. She has a very keen sense of identifying the shape that will work best to highlight your face and fall beautifully all over your head (even when one side wants to flip up and the other side under, along with a couple of cowlicks to deal with!). The color she blends (I call her the magician) is exactly my color when I was a little girl, so it looks very natural. In the winter she warms it up a bit and highlights it for a natural summer look. For lip waxings, you could not find a more friendly and meticulous esthetician than Megan. My skin is ivory and very sensitive. It can easily turn a bright lasting red if a waxing is done without pre and post care. Megan also carefully reviews the skin after waxing for any stray hairs that require individual removal (some places just continue waxing over and over, which aggravates the skin). The fee structure for all services is also very reasonable. Overall, this salon does not disappoint and when possible, can accommodate that occasional same day service when something special comes up and you want to look your best.

They graciously offer and bring you coffee/tea/water - which makes me feel special :) I've been going to JA for years but last year I tried a new place b/c of a recommendation from a friend. Long story short, it was ok until it wasn't and my long hair became short damaged hair. After visiting JA last year for my daughter's appt, I was approached by a staff member to get a blowout while I wait - great idea! but my hair was such a mess in so many ways that after explaining my hair issues, they found a spot for me the next day and fixed my mess! So happy and grateful that they were so kind... I also took my mom to that other salon, and she also had a terrible experience but it wasn't anything JA couldn't handle.
