I had called a few other salons in the area for an appt first and their manner on the phone was rude, layers wasnt. They were kind and accommodating. Every time I went to layers salon, I felt like I was visiting friends. I even brought my toddler with me a few times and even though he was a little rambunctious, everyone welcomed him with open arms. When I first started getting my hair done at Layers, I had a bob, then eventually decided on a pixie cut. My desires for my hair were always heard and cuts executed amazingly. Margie was the one who cut my hair.. she acutally was done for the day but waited for me.. I had the best hair cut ever and the way she blew out my hair was amazing.. My husband loved it.. he said its nice and simple and not overdone... Blend would blow out my hair and it always looked like I had a helmet on.. She was excellent! She gave me exactly what I wanted and was very cool and patient. The second time I got my haircut by Sue, this was a very polar experience. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and asked just the top of my head to resemble the style and my sides to be an even shave. She ignored this and before I could say anything else she began chipping away from the top to make a fade which I really did not want. She was also not gentle whatsoever. She then continued to talk over me, run to take a call, run back, take a hunk out of my hair, and when all was said and done she used a gel that immediately flaked up. The gel could absolutely just not be compatible with my hair type but it just felt all a little unprofessional. I'm not going back, and if you're getting a cut that involves shaving, I don't recommend you go in either.
