Love Salon Four! The entire staff is warm and friendly. I've been getting my hair done since I was a teenager and have been to countless salons but Salon Four is truly the best of the best. Kelly does my color and as a blonde I am VERY picky. She always listens to what I want and gets it right EVERY TIME. I get tons of compliments. For my cut. I go to Jen P. and she's just as fantastic. She takes her time and gives a beautiful, detailed cut. My son even goes to her now and we will not see anyone else! I can't tell you how many people ask us about our hair. Everyone there is very down to earth and sweet. I highly recommend them! read more

After spending the last two years growing out my hair, avoiding heat, and maintaining my ends, I went to Salon Four to get a long layered hair cut I've been eyeing. The hair stylist completely ignored me. She didn't even glance at the pictures I was trying to show her. She said I was "clearly the type of client who didn't maintain my hair." She talked over me when I tried to explain what I wanted and said she would do something similar that was easier to style on a daily basis. She asked how I felt about the length and I said I wanted to keep it below my shoulders. She cut more than six inches off and gave me a "karen cut" telling me "hopefully you can maintain this." I feel so embarrassed, judged, and frustrated that it's going to take at least a year to get it back to the length I want. It's like going to a restaurant ordering a burger and being told "No you're fat. Eat this salad--except you can leave the restaurant and get the burger for your next meal and not wait a year. read more

Salon Four is the absolute best! I was lucky to find this place and Kelly and I trust her 100% with my hair. She listens to me and my hair always comes out exactly how I hope it will. I recently took the plunge and for balayage and she knew I was nervous. I hadn't put color in my hair in over a decade so I was very hesitant to go for it. She talked me through the whole process and what to expect and I could not be more thrilled with the results. I asked for it to flow naturally so if I don't keep up with it (I'm terrible at upkeep) it will still look good as it grows out. But honestly, I'm in love and I believe Kelly helped me find my new look. My best friend moved to the area and she also goes to Kelly now after years with another stylist elsewhere and after seeing my hair my mom plans to go, too. 100% the best!! read more

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Salon Four in Scotch Plains. Because it was my first time being back in a salon since COVID, I was a little nervous, but could not have had a better experience!! Salon Four is so spacious and clean, I saw chairs and sinks and tools being cleaned and wiped constantly! This was a big difference from the smaller salon I had been going to in Westfield. My stylist, Danielle, was so friendly and thoughtful and did an amazing job on my hair! Dani freshened up my highlights, and gave me such a beautiful blow out, I left feeling AMAZING! She listened to my thoughts of what I wanted my hair to look and shared her thoughts on what would look best on me. I can tell she is an experienced, and thoughtful colorist who knows how to highlight people's features and give them exactly what they hope for. My highlights look so natural and turned out better then I imagined! To make my experience even better, while I was processing, I learned that the salon also provides waxing services. I obviously inquired if I could make an appointment to get my eyebrows done sometime soon. One of the other stylists, Joey, came over right away, assessed my brows and did me up! My brows have honestly never looked better! Dani, Joey and all of the staff made my experience so fun and enjoyable. All of my nerves and fears disappeared, my experience at Salon four was beyond my expectations. The staff was accommodating, helpful, and some of the kindest I have ever met! I will definitely be returning soon! read more

I'm the kind of person who rarely gets a cut because I am constantly trying to maintain the longest hair possible. When I do decide to have a haircut though, I need it TODAY. I asked for recommendations on a local FB group months ago because I'm relatively new to the area, and Salon Four was one of the salons recommended. I called and asked for an appointment with "anyone"; Melanie was available. Apparently Melanie is new to Salon Four (joined in October 2021). So happy I found her! She's very personable and I love my cut. read more

I am the pickiest person when it comes to my hair & Salon Four is hands down then best service I've ever received and I've never been happier with the outcome of my hair. Prior to today I went to the same salon for 10 years because I am so incredibly picky and am always so scared to try a new place but Salon Four did not disappoint. Kelly, Cece and Becky are amazing at what they do. I'm a brunette with long hair down to about my waist & came in saying I wanted to go blonde. My appointment was originally with Becky, but she quickly realized that because my hair was so long & dark she wouldn't have enough time to give me the result I wanted. I appreciated her honesty so much! Kelly ended up doing my color. She was super thorough & explained every step of what she was doing. Cece did my cut & blowout which was amazing. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! read more

This is a fantastic salon - every stylist seems to do a great job cause the clients all look fantastic. But I gotta give it up for my stylist, Jess. She's super talented, she can follow your request perfectly or follow her own instincts to give you gorgeous hair. Either way, shes skilled AND a sweetheart. So thankful to have found this place after a few disappointing trips to salons in Westfield. I haven't gone anywhere else since! read more

Just came back from Salon Four and had Kelly give my my daughter a shampoo and haircut. She sits with you and listens how you like the cut to be. My daughter is happy with the style. Place is clean. They do offer coffee to clients. We didn't have an appointment and it's nice that they were able to accommodate us. read more

I WAS very happy with this salon. I have had hair cuts with multiple people (i work full time so i can only come on weekends or evenings) and all were great. I finally found a stylist i really liked and decided i wanted to start coloring my hair again. First time she colored my hair it was subtle and faded pretty fast so i decided to go more bold woth my red color next time. I was happy with the color at first but once i stepped outside the roots looked orange compared to the rest of my hair. I decided to give it a couple washes bc i know this can happen (esp with auburn color) but it started to get even more orange. I called the salon to see about getting it corrected. I was told that bc of the times i need they could not see me for another 3 weeks (four weeks after it was originally done). When i asked if there was anyone at all in the salon who could see me the person on the phone told me "well then you would have to pay". I asked the fee and said "well if you arent able to see me im going to have to go to a different salon and pay there so thats fine". She put me on hold again and said the stylist i saw would prefer to see me instead, yet still wasnt able to get me in for a month. I told them i was really disappointed and that im going to have to find a new salon. She said okay then. Really terrible customer service. Real shame because i was happy there but now im forced to find somewhere new. read more

I really like the hair cut I got here. I will more than likely come here again. The salon is extremely clean and the stylist are very nice and know what there doing. Throughout my haircut my stylist asked me if anything she was doing is hurting me which I appreciate as I'm very tender headed. read more

Update: 4 years later & Salon Four is even better then it was when it first opened. In addition to the original girls who opened they have added some of the most amazing hairdressers. They now have 8/10 chairs all of whom are worked by talented, versatile, kind, friendly individuals of all ages. And that is what I love about this establishment. These fresh young girls & guy give it such a fun vibe while the older ladies keep that calm seasoned energy. It's such a great balance & because of this you see people of ALL ages sitting in every chair. It's not one of those trendy pompous type of places where only model like people walk into. They make us ALL feel great. They make us all feel welcomed. Beautiful. Appreciated & validated. I've seen people in walkers walk in & leave happy. I've seen new moms with newborns in car seats get tended to & be given a moment here & there to tend to their little one while they get their hair done. I've seen Dads sit & wait for their teen daughter to get a haircut. Big burly men come in for a fresh fade & everyone gets treated with the same courtesy, respect & attentiveness. Salon four has this humble/homey ambiance to it. Everyone is honest & their main goal is to make you look the best you can even if it means doing a less expensive process. I truly feel at home here. read more

Go to Jennifer, she is the best!!! I came in last week for a haircut and a keratin treatment with Jennifer and I was so happy with the result. She does a great job and really listens to what you want. She's so nice too! On top of that, the keratin treatment at SalonFour is much cheaper than others in the area... and much better! Highly recommend this place. read more

Worse salon ever. I wish there were negative stars. After 3 hours, my daughter's hair, who went for highlights, was way darker than her original color!!! Owner completely lost it and kicked us out. She wouldn't listen to our complaint. Nothing...she is ALWAYS right apparently. I don't know what kind of people she's used to dealing with, but her level of disrespect and unprofessional behavior is appalling. read more

This is my new favorite salon in the entire union county area! Danielle is incredible with color and she brightened up my blonde perfectly. She understood exactly what I wanted and took her time with it. Making an appointment was super quick and easy and I didn't have to wait to be seated in her chair. Every station in the salon is frequently disinfected and the stylists are diligent about wearing their masks. The staff is so sweet and welcoming and I felt comfortable & safe throughout my appointment from start to finish. read more

Sonia is the only hair colorist/stylist I trust with my hair in NJ. She's done my hair for 10+ years and I've gone all shades of browns and blondes, she's truly exceptional. She's excellent with cuts (layers, long layers, etc) and kid's haircuts too! :) read more

I initially went in for partial highlights to treat myself for New Years, the dye completely did not take the first round because I had previously box dyed my hair over 5 months ago. So I called back to the salon to try and get my hair fixed and the next day they had me back in the chair and fixed my hair. The divine time around the highlights actually turned out properly, the staff is really nice and friendly. They were really understanding and fixed my hair free of charge. read more

I went to Julie to get keratin hair extensions. I love them so much! She did a perfect job and was completely honest when it came to blending the hair with mine. I ended up needing another bundle of hair and she went ahead and ordered it and the next week she put them in. My hair is shoulder length and now it's almost down to my butt and my hair looks amazing and not fake! Layered and blended and even when my hair is a mess they look like my real hair. I recommend her to anyone who is looking to have beautiful hair done by a professional. read more

I have been a client for about a year now. "Joe" is the person who cuts my hair. He does a very good job, considering what he has to work with (me). Salon Four provides friendly, efficient service and the price is competitive. By the way, there are dozens of barber shops in the area, but this is the only place I know of where I can sit back and get a haircut without being required to watch television, or several televisions, because in most places these are present and on at all times. They don't have television. read more

I've been with Becky for a number of years now and I have never gotten up from her chair anything less than in love! Many times I've sat down unsure of what I've even wanted and she just always knows. Highly recommend both Becky and this salon, I can not imagine going anywhere else. read more

I went to Joe for my bridal hair trial and picked him for our wedding and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish he did 8 women's hair and had us all ready on time. He stayed until i got in my dress to make sure I didn't need any touch ups and to put the veil on himself. Everyone loved their hair (pleasing 8 very different women is hard, especially these women) and two days later my hair is still amazing. I have very difficult curly hair but Joe was able to tame it with ease. He's fun, hilarious and was an hour and a half early to make sure he was ready for us. I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much for everything!!!! read more

I wasn't referred here. I was doing some research and came across this salon. They have many photos posted on facebook which gives you a good idea of the work they do.
