What a wonderful hidden gem! I was given a 60 minute session with Fabiana for Christmas and it was FABULOUS! Fabiana is the sweetest woman and she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I did not want to get off the table. There are only a few things that would make each visit even more special. Unfortunately there were times during my session when I could hear the staff talking outside the door. Also, at checkout there were two lady's at the front desk, one was on the phone scheduling someone and the other was doing something else, but I was hoping she would look up and acknowledge I was standing there, and at least let me know she'd be right with me. But a few minutes passed and she finally asked me if I was checking out and how everything went. It's minor but it kinda put a lil damper on my experience. The atmosphere is calm with soft lighting, soothing music, a small fireplace, and a cozy sitting area offering teas, infused water, and healthy trail mix. The staff is always warm, helpful, and friendly. Most importantly, my therapist, Kathy, is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable and pinpoints the exact areas causing my discomfort. Previously, I would treat myself to a massage once or maybe twice a year. Since my first massage with Kathy, I look forward to going every 6-8 weeks. Someone gave me a gift card for On The Side. Even though I have passed by this place dozens of times, I had never been there before. I've had a bunch of pedicures over the last few years. This was definitely the best I've ever had. "Kristy" the pedicurist was amazing. She gave an incredible calf and foot massage and took her time to provide an exceptional service. I never felt rushed I feel that Kristy went above and beyond my previous expectations of a pedicure. They take social distancing and other precautions seriously here, which I loved. All of the staff were very nice & accommodating and it's easy to park in the back. You have to call when you get here and answer the prerequisite Covid questions. I booked a 90 minute prenatal massage plus a 15 minute scalp massage, which after surveying many friends, would be expected to be a total of 105 minutes. Nope, just 90m. I had a 9 AM appointment and Google said they opened at 9 AM so I went to a coffee shop down the street and walked in at 8:55. I made a point of telling them that no one ever told me if they opened early after the woman checked me in and mentioned that we were "short on time." They brought me upstairs and had me fill out paperwork and then brought me straight to the room to get undressed there. By the time we started, it was a quarter after, which they cut out of my massage time. I am nine months pregnant. This room was incredibly small and tight to get undressed in I also really was hoping for the spa experience. I wanted to sit in the quiet lounge in a robe and relax after, which felt like it wasn't even an option. The "Zen Zone" had six chairs, some mixed nuts, they dimmed the lighting after I sat down and offered me water or tea. The fire place wasn't turned on, so kind of a blah vibe. I'd give the massage a 3/10. It was more of an oil rub down and they do side-lying prenatal only. The scalp massage wasn't particularly enjoyable. She asked if I was OK with oil in my hair which I assumed she meant since it was already on her hands so I said sure and then she poured oil directly on my hair and basically just grinded it into the top of my head. She didn't do my temples, forehead or surface of my hair line. She felt inexperienced. What really topped it off was my check out experience . A woman with short black hair and glasses, checked me out. It felt very transactional, she didn't even ask how my service was. She told me the total and then asked if I'd like an envelope for gratuity. I told her I didn't have any cash on me and I'd like to add it to the card. She said they don't accept gratuity on cards, but that there was a bank down the street. I told her I don't have time to go to the bank and come back and she said OK. Well here's an envelope. You can drop it off another time. I told her I don't live in the area and asked if my masseuse took Venmo she replied "I don't know". So I asked if she could go ask and she did, but first informed me that their tip policy was in the confirmation text (which I never received.) While we were having this lovely conversation, I also made a point of telling her that they've also docked 10 minutes off of my massage for never informing me that they opened earlier than the start time of my massage, sure I could've assumed it, but they also could've told me directly. They said it's mentioned in a pop-up window on the website when you booked a massage, I replied that I booked it a month ago. They also told me that their policy is included in the text messages, I replied that I didn't receive a text message and they confirmed that I had opted out. Overall, I tried this place because I love coming to Westfield and have been looking for a new place that had a better spa experience than my usual place, but I won't be coming back. We've had great manicures and pedicures. They have a wide selection of colors and brands, or you can bring in your own. The nail artists are all wonderful. Great massages and nail art. The building has a convenient parking lot out back or you can park on the street (it is a busier residential street). The facility is so clean and really nicely designed. The interior layout is confusing for a first-timer but their staff is very friendly and helpful. Wow!! This place and the employees rock! I'm visiting from San Diego and needed sauna desperately. I live with chronic pain from fibromyalgia and have learned that sauna helps tone down pain significantly and helps me sleep too, so I came here and glad I did! So many excellent options available at On the Side! My current standing appointment is with Kristy for sugaring services. Ladies, if you haven't switched from waxing to sugaring yet, I can't recommend Kristy highly enough! Sugaring is truly the future of hair removal as it so much more natural than hot wax ripping off hair and skin. Additionally, the re-growth is significantly lighter/less and to top it all off, Kristy is phenomenal. She truly makes the experience feel like you're chatting with a friend and not having your intimate bits tended to. Kristy's energy is so positive and she is just so kind. Enjoyed a relaxing day at the spa. This was the first time I've been there. My boyfriend gave me a gift card which I finally used! I started off by enjoying the best facial I have ever experienced. Katie was fantastic. She explained everything and provided a relaxing and enjoyable environment. My face feels phenomenal and looks terrific! I highly recommend requesting her for your treatment. Afterwards, I had a 90 minute massage by Alvin. He too provided an amazing experience and was extremely thorough. He used just enough pressure and made sure I was comfortable. I also highly recommend him! What I really liked was that both therapists worked on my the entire time. Many places trim off time at the end but neither did in this case. The spa atmosphere was extremely relaxing. The locker room has the sauna inside. I used it for a few minutes between treatments. There are two showers and amenities for use. The treatment waiting area is also very comfortable and serene as long as clients keep their voices low. The spa is was very and well appointed. The blankets on the treatment tables could have not been more soft!! The front desk staff were extremely friendly. I hope my boyfriend treats me to another day at the spa. Amazing! I inquired about a bridal spa day event prior to my sisters wedding and Taryn got back to me pretty quickly. I hate leaving bad reviews but after the phone call with the manager I have no choice. I found this spa from the great reviews on Yelp which caught my attention. The prices are outrageous, but I figured it would be worth it; I had booked a facial, massage and pedicure as a little relaxing spa day. I was told the hydro facial was not invasive, super relaxing and not intense on the skin... when I arrived early I was told to sign a waiver and that it IS invasive and can leave my skin red/peeling. I declined the facial as I didn't want my skin aggravated or red, plus who wants to be face down in a head rest for a massage right after a facial? When I told her I'm sorry that I thought it was going to be relaxing she started throwing out random facials for me to get but I could tell it was because she didn't want to waste her time by being there (totally understandable). The facial was $265 and she claimed that I'd be paying the entire thing if I cancel, with a pretty cold attitude; which kind of backed me into a corner because either I take the risk of my skin breaking out or pay for nothing. I went downstairs and told the manager my issue and she explained i would have to pay full price for canceling the facial but she'd make it the $113 basic one. She then said that there's nobody that can take me for my massage and to come back in an hour and 20, to go run some errands or I can sit in the lobby upstairs and wait... I didn't really feel comfortable sitting in a lobby with the pandemic going on, so I decided to just go wait in my car, I hadn't planned any errands because this was supposed to be a full day at the spa relaxing... I then called them right away because at that point it was 10:35am my massage was at 12pm, pedicure at 1:30pm and told her that I would like to cancel as the policy says that I can get 50% of the service(s) back and I understood that. She then told me that they have the right to change anything that is on the website at ANY time and charged me the full $272. I was spoken to like a piece of trash, screamed at and belittled. I had my friend in the car who was shocked listening to the way she was yelling at me as well. As I was simply asking questions or trying to talk to her in a very calm tone, it's like that made her even more angry, she continually interrupted and then exploded saying "are you gonna just keep talking over me or can I get my point across!?!". The difference I was explaining to her, is that if I would have cancelled that morning I would have gotten the 50% back for not going in, but because I went in and spoke with them face to face for less than 10 minutes, I then had to pay the full amount for all 3 services because I 'checked in' for only one, so I was asking how that is fair? I explained to her that I understood paying 50% for everyone's time but why am I paying the full amount for all 3? The call ended with her hanging up on me. Please make sure you understand what you're getting yourself into if you go here, I would say read the website but apparently "they can change it whenever they like". RESPONSE to RESPONSE: I never said I was going to get lunch, it was 10:30 in the morning? There were people in the lobby upstairs walking around and multiple conversations so I would not be alone up there. What made me call was when I realized I had over an hour to "stay busy" and this was starting to become more stressful than relaxing you had told me the ladies were already there with other clients so they were busy, please don't act like they came there just for me because that's false and I would then understand paying full price. In regards to your no response to this, so it is okay to raise your voice at your clients on a phone call and belittle them? My friend was shocked at how nasty you spoke to me and kept cutting me off so we decided to make sure we keep that as it was completely different than when I walked into the spa. Also, in regards to you saying that you can change anything on the website in favor of you guys (in a snarky power heavy way) what is your response to this? I'll start by saying I've had a lot of massages in my life, but this was by far the BEST experience I've ever had, from beginning to end. The second you walk in, it is a calming and luxurious experience. You get led through a naturally decorated hallway and into the locker room which is beautifully done. The showers have wooden floors and they give you fluffy robes and slippers. Their waiting area where you sit before your treatments is very relaxing, with a tea bar and mixed snacks. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to use the sauna, but they offer this before the treatment. But to get into the massage..... I had Stacy. What's important to me during a massage is that they actually KNOW what they're doing, and all movements are purposeful. I hate when they just rub you in random directions. From start to finish, every movement Stacy made was for a reason. She was able to get my knots out without digging in and using too much pressure. I definitely fell asleep in and out, and it was hard not to! I also did a Reiki treatment after the massage. I honestly don't think a massage has ever relaxed me that much. A friend said she had the best massage of her life at OTS Spa so when my girlfriend's birthday was approaching, I knew where we could celebrate. I called three and a half weeks before to schedule the appointment for a couples massage. Whomever took my call was very pleasant and answered all the questions I had. They took a CC to hold the appointment but processed no payment. I called the morning of the appointment to confirm what time we should arrive for our 2 o'clock appointment. Listen, I'm not going to deduct a star for this because it's really not that big of a deal but the woman who answered my call seemed very bothered by my very simple question. She responded in a very snooty way. Whatever. When we arrived (almost an hour early), the lot was pretty empty. The woman who checked us in was lovely -- it felt like she'd be waiting for us to arrive. She showed us to the locker room, had us change and complete forms. She showed us to the relaxation room and served each of us a drink. They have a wonderful ambiance, teas, plenty of magazines, and weighted blankets. The room did start to fill up closer to our appointment time but we were comfortable. Our massages were wonderful! I had Luz and my girlfriend had Allison. Both asked us if we had any areas that needed special attention. I asked Luz to just do her thing, no special attention needed. Wow! I'd read about their pre-natal massages on a local parent group and was going back and forth on whether to take the plunge. I am so glad I did. Fabiana was amazing and the entire experience was perfect. I didn't know what to expect from a prenatal massage and at first thought maybe it was a little too gentle, hit I was wrong and Fabiana was the expert (of course). Throughout both of my pregnancies I have never felt so relaxed and comfortable. This feeling is still with me days later. As soon as you walk in they check your temperature and you fill out a Covid questionnaire everything was very clean and sanitary and all the staff were wearing masks. You sit in a waiting area by the fireplace there's some water and trail mix and fill out a questionnaire on your skin first. Then you're brought into the service room and my facial therapist was amazing. She was so friendly and so sweet and I really enjoyed chatting with her. I received the Spa head to toe experience and couldn't have been more disappointed . I have been getting facials and massages for over a decade and for $255 I walked out feeling robbed. My husband called in since we recently moved locally and asked about a package for me as a Christmas gift and he was offered three options so being a man he took the most expensive thinking he was doing the right thing. These packages are a joke! The lady who did my facial even said to me "we don't specialize in packages everything is done ala carte" so basically I got two crap services and was charged a premium. They give you two basic services in this package a Swedish massage and a simple facial and add $45 to it that included a foot rub (I think the lady fell asleep rubbing my feet) and an eye collagen treatment. Meanwhile they have quality massages and facials for just about the same price if they removed those two unnecessary treatments that equate to $45 which they didn't explain to my husband. The lady Stephanie asked me about areas to focus I mentioned my upper back being tense and she can be firm in those areas and she literally told me if I want a firmer massage it would cost more ! What piss poor customer service why even ask if your only going to give me a oil rub down. The facial was done by Jessica and she was ten times better on the neck and shoulder massage than Stephanie was during my actual massage ! The facial is the only reason why I didn't walk out making a scene. Jessica was sweet and all she did a good job however when I go to get a facial I want to relax and I felt like half the facial she talked my ear off asking me about my family history when I just wanted to relax. And At the end trying to get a receipt I asked twice and it was like they didn't want to give me one. I wanted a breakdown so I can calculate the tip and she verbally told me the cost rather than giving me the receipt I asked for. How do you not give a receipt to your customers especially after they ask you for one? After a second ask I got my receipt and noticed the add ons aNd went online and realized what happened. I will never step foot in this place again. Response to Manager: I am fully aware NOW of the services that I received there is no need to recite what it says on your website. This was a gift so I was unaware of the package details as I was not the one who did the research on your services on your site until after I left feeling like I was robbed of $300. I am a first time customer and not once did any of your employees fully explain what the services entailed. I was told the name of the package that's like going to a restaurant and the waiter telling me the name of the specials without explaining what the specials are in detail! If I would've known before I got on the table I was getting a Swedish massage I would've changed the services bc paying $125 For a Swedish massage that includes some add on charge of $20 called "reflexology" is just a gimmick to add more money to your basic massage that requires little to no effort from your masseuse. If I tell u On the ten question form You have us fill out that I want you to focus on my upper back and I tell u verbally I want firm and you mention price without explaining the massage I'm receiving and/or without suggesting another type of massage that would've given me what I wanted (and would've ultimately only costed $5 more) then your employee needs to work on her communication skills. read more

Was desperately seeking a Deep Tissue massage on short notice and was able to schedule an appointment 1 day before for a 60 minute session. They're currently undergoing promising renovations. The place is beautiful and very serene already. There is a women's and mens locker room. There are private lockers available for use, 2 private showers, 2 bathrooms, and a small sauna room. You do have to share a waiting area with a pretty fireplace where there is hot tea, trail mix, cold water to enjoy. My treatment was great and exactly what I was looking for- deep pressure with concentration on my trouble spots. 60 min for just about ~$100. I would absolutely go again and am excited to see what it'll look like once renovations are over. I am eager to try other treatments too. read more

Just had my first spa pedicure and manicure from Andrea. Wow!!! She was absolutely wonderful. The place itself is very relaxing with spa music and calming effects, The pedicure chair is quite comfortable Andrea used a lot of scrubs and creams along with fabulous massaging on both feet and hands. I went all out and took the top of the line main/pedi because I had a 20% coupon. Prices are steep..$50 pedicure and $45 manicure, but the manicure was over an hour and I had scrubs, serums, and masks. She shaped my nails as requested and was extremely pleasant. I made a future manicure appointment already. I do have one recommendation. Perhaps a hot pillow should be offered when getting pedicure, At many spas they do this.
