This was my second time here after first visting 5 months ago. I went to pick up a few products…read moreand to see what crochet and clip-in hair they had. I was literally there for well over an hour and a half, slowly wandering around and just looking at everything. I made it to the wig section and the lady working in that area greeted me and she was very polite. She asked if i needed help, asked what I was looking for, told me the promos, and tried making some suggestions. She was a good salesperson. Even though our hair texture was different, she was helpful and gave good advice about the wigs, which I have never purchased. I would go back for her help, she was friendly. Another person asked me if everything was ok if i needed anything while i was slowly shopping. Other than that, nobody disturbed me, no racial profiling, no hovering, nothing strange. They sell just about every product for hair care. Good overall experience. Keep in mind this is not a black owned establishment, it is Korean owned. I know that is a very important factor to a lot of people, so putting that out there. Maybe they have improved their customer service skills...??

I do not recommend this establishment. Over the last few years, business for this establishment has…read moredwindled as I believe it's highly due to a lack of decent customer service. Because I know my products, know what braiding material I need, and for the most part, wear my hair in its natural state, I never need assistance from staff in finding products. Lately I've been noticing interactions between the owners and certain customers. I've watched them greet, be friendly, and make eye contact with various groups of people, but when it comes to Black Americans you appear distant, not friendly, refuse to greet, and have a look of disdain when approached by a Black American. I witnessed the owner standing at the front entrance yesterday, greet a Hispanic couple and an Ethiopian man and blatantly ignore a Black American woman entering the store. Most of your products are Black American inspired! Your business has THRIVED over the years as a result of BLACK AMERICAN WOMEN and you continue to have this audacity!

Nuzhat has been doing my hair at Ulta for the last year, and she is amazing. First she listens to…read moreme and what I desire but she also advises me on how to achieve it. When I came to her, I had significant amount of hair dye already in my hair (think close to orange) and told her I wanted to be blonde. She said she said it's possible but to do it right it will take two sittings and explained exactly why. And no kidding she fixed it. She has knowledge and wisdom that only comes from stylists who have been doing hair for a long time and still willing to learn more. I highly recommend when you book an appointment, ask for Nuzhat.

I went to go get a silk press at 6:15 PM in the middle of getting my hair done, Another customer…read moreneeded to get her hair done too, so it looks like the stylist was just taking so long that her next appointment showed up and so she had two heads to finish and couldn't get that done. At 9:10 PM they told us that the store is closing so we have to pay even though my hair wasn't finished. I still had to pay. I got a trim and wasn't informed that the trim was $55 and that was added to my total payment, which I was very upset about because no one disclosed this to me. It was put under a haircut and I didn't get a haircut. I got a simple dust off, a trim. There was no discount because of how long me and this other customer had to wait nor was there really an apology, and towards the end after I paid for my hair without it being finished, the stylist was starting to get rough and had an attitude, even though I'm the one who has had my time wasted this was a horrible first experience for this Ulta salon, and they should do a better job of scheduling customers. The least the could have done was added a discount because we had to share a stylist and were there past closing. Just ridiculous. Worst first experience. Why did I have to pay if my hair wasn't finished.

This review is for Sephora in JC Penney…read more It's a small portion of the revamped JC Penney, but they should seriously consider expanding. The women who work at Sephora are knowledgeable and super helpful. I was looking for mascara and they literally gave me 15 options depending on what I was looking for. Not only that, they helped me decide on various other cosmetics by advising me on products that they personally use. I was in awe after my AWFUL experience at my local Ulta store. I will never return to Ulta, I would go out of my way to go to Sephora. Pay attention make-up stores....THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT.

Upon entering. You're NOT greeted. Entering through the mall entrance feels very weird. Since the…read moreservice counter is presumed no longer utilized and mostly just there for decoration since there's never anyone usually at the mall entrance service counter. They had the AC on last time I went but there has been a few times when there was barely any fresh free flowing cool ventilation. Also they no longer have REFILLED sanitizer stations at the door nor wipes for the shopping carts. While browsing the store. The first thing you noticed is the complete disorganization of most of the clothing sections. Some sections are in complete disarray as well as merchandise completely located in incorrect spots. The dress clothing section was almost laughable with mostly irregular shirt colors to suits available. **SEE PICS** The pricing here is VERY CRAZY. Even in Macy's. They don't charge this much for some clothes. At this JCP some shirts were almost near the fifty dollar mark for ONE SHIRT. The pillow section followed closely behind in the pricing with certain basic pillows being insanely expensive. Also the overall presentation of most of the merchandise makes it nowhere near appealing for the price really. The mattress section is almost laughable as well with near two thousand mattresses with stains on them when you really look at them. It's understandable accidents happen by customers. But someone is not going to spend an insane amount of money while looking at a juice or soda stained mattress. The only section which seemed to be fully stocked and active was the Sephora part of the store. I can't really comment on the employees since it would seem the only employees are at the registers and the customer service counter mainly. There's virtually no employees on the sales floor besides the Sephora & jewelry sections. The dressing rooms are almost autonomous since there were also no employees near the dressing room areas either. The overall noise level was normal for a retail store. It was almost too quiet in the store however at certain times. The general crowd is mainly adults. Some kids. Everyone seemed mature and disciplined. Overall this location is a DUMP. Management needs to be fired. I can't say how many times I've been inside this store and always seen customers looking for employees only to never succeed. That with the complete lack of disorganization and insane pricing makes this store a complete failure.
