I made it to the wig section and the lady working in that area greeted me and she was very polite. She asked if i needed help, asked what I was looking for, told me the promos, and tried making some suggestions. She was a good salesperson. Even though our hair texture was different, she was helpful and gave good advice about the wigs, which I have never purchased. I would go back for her help, she was friendly. Another person asked me if everything was ok if i needed anything while i was slowly shopping. Other than that, nobody disturbed me, no racial profiling, no hovering, nothing strange. They sell just about every product for hair care. Good overall experience. Keep in mind this is not a black owned establishment, it is Korean owned. I know that is a very important factor to a lot of people, so putting that out there. Maybe they have improved their customer service skills...??

When I came to her, I had significant amount of hair dye already in my hair (think close to orange) and told her I wanted to be blonde. She said she said it's possible but to do it right it will take two sittings and explained exactly why. And no kidding she fixed it. There was no discount because of how long me and this other customer had to wait nor was there really an apology, and towards the end after I paid for my hair without it being finished, the stylist was starting to get rough and had an attitude, even though I'm the one who has had my time wasted this was a horrible first experience for this Ulta salon, and they should do a better job of scheduling customers. When I showed her a reference photo of the cornrow style I wanted, she immediately claimed the photo was "AI," but never once stated she lacked the skill to execute the look. Instead, she took the appointment anyway. From the start, her technique was heavy-handed and painfully tight. When I asked her to loosen the braids, she dismissed my discomfort, claiming they "needed to be tight to look nice." When I told her it genuinely hurt, she simply brushed it off with an "okay, okay" and kept going. Even after asking her to leave my edges out, she pulled my hair so aggressively that my scalp was left throbbing. The final result is nothing short of a disaster: Asymmetry & Messy Parting: One side is braided over and the other under. The parts are completely unclean, and the lines look sloppy and rushed. Amateur Workmanship: The back features four messy rows and three weave braids in the front that look as though a teenager was practicing on my head rather than a professional stylist. Complete Disregard for the Reference: It looks nothing like the clean, precise style I requested--it simply looks like she was tired and rushed through the job. To add insult to injury, I walked out of there out $160 plus an $18 tip that she readily took without a second thought, despite delivering completely unacceptable work. When I followed up with my original braider to share what happened, she initially offered to help, but when I asked to have my hair properly re-braided, she suddenly became unresponsive and told me to call the manager.
